I bought this hitch as a replacement for my OEM and I’m very pleased. Its way more heavy duty then OEM. Easy to install and comes with instructions although it’s easy enough you don’t need them. The fitment is great and I love the look. Sits more flush then OEM. I also bought a 4 and 7 pin break adapter to pair this with and it looks great. 745488

This hitch seems very well constructed. I am very pleased with helpfulness in making sure this was the correct hitch for my truck. Seems really easy to install. This hitch is way more heavy duty compared to the hitch that was on it when I bought the truck 679842

I recieved the Curt hitch with all hardware and the bracket for the wiring plug. Removed old hitch and installed the new Curt hitch in less than an hour. Wow that was easy! However I did not install the plug bracket due to the plug did not fit the bracket without using some type of fasteners. So I removed the old braket and installed it onto the new hitch. Everything on the hitch fit as the instructions said. I used a floor jack to lift the hitch into place, installed a couple of the supplied bolts and removed the jack, and installed the rest of the hardware. I have recommended your web site to everyone that tows, pulls, and loads anything. Quick, percise and as advertised! 149370

Just put hitch on. Took longer to get tools out than to put on. Looks great and built strong, and that's coming from a welder/ fabricator/ carpenter. Bolted right up to my 2005 GMC 2500 hd crew cab. Can't wait to put dump trailer or my enclosed trailer to it. Will be testing it in a couple of weeks when I move daughter to O U for grad school 546714

The class V trailer hitch from Etrailer is about half price compared to local dealers. My order was fast and easy and was delivered in two days!! Install was a snap with a impact driver and a floor jack. I did not even take off my spare tire. THIS IS A GREAT HITCH !!!!! 129509

This is the 3rd Curt hitch I have purchased. Quality is great and fitment has been perfect. Truck is located in the Northeast and after 1 winter so far zero rust, same with the hitch on my wife’s van after 2 years. I am a Curt/etrailer customer for life. 597222

The first thing is I ordered the class V Curt hitch then read the reviews I thought oh no I will never get this hitch well I called a nice lady Nicole she told me it would be at my shop Monday or Tuesday that's fine but she lied I had it that Friday 3 days before Nicole said I'd have it, it fit very nice I needed to trim the corner on the right side because I have a huge ass exhaust not the fault of the hitch it's 2" up from the factory hitch but the factory hitch was made for a tent trailer so I just adjusted my receiver for that it's heavy duty and FITS customer service is amazing I will buy more stuff from these people 06' 2500HD Diesel John W. 413292

Perfect fit for my 2005 2500 Silverado. The factory receiver only had 7500# capacity so I figured an upgrade to a class V was a good idea. I cut the plug bracket off of the old receiver and welded it to a piece of flat stock for easy mounting to the bumper. 385304

Thanks for your business and your review, Mike! Just a quick note - while aftermarket hitches may have a higher capacity, the maximum capacity of a towing setup is limited to the capacity of the lowest-rated component.

Great product, seems very well built. Install is incredibly easy, especially if you remove the spare tire as suggested. Truck is a 2007 2500 HD Classic Body CCSB. Only side note is that there is less clearance between the hitch and exhaust, which could potentially be trouble if you are running an aftermarket 5” system (see photo). It still worked for me and overall I am very satisfied with the purchase. 811184

  • Curt Class V Trailer Hitch that Fits 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 Long Bed
We have a Curt Class III hitch part # C15312 that fits your 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 with an 8 foot bed but the # C15302 only fits 2500 short bed models so it wouldn't work for you.

  • Availability of Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500
That's odd...when I run your vehicle through our fitguide, I find that Curt does't offer a Class V hitch for your vehicle. I have confirmed that the # C15302 is listed as a fit for the 2500 Sierra/Silverado but not the Yukon. Draw-Tite offers a Class V, part # DT45515 which is what I'd recommend. With a 12K GTW/1200TW or 14K GTW/1700lbTW with weight distribution, it'll have plenty of capacity. This hitch is a confirmed fit unless your vehicle has the EPA canister mounted on the passenger...

I attached a picture that shows the holes that this hitch uses to attach for you to check out so that you can see that it will install properly.

With Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15302 installed on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed the hitch will be in the same position as a factory hitch or at least within a fraction of an inch. By that I mean the receiver will be right under the rear bumper. To mount your 7-Way connector I like mounting box # 18159 for a clean look. I have linked a video of it for you. I have included a link to all of the 7-Way mounting devices we have.

If you check out the picture I attached you can see that the hitch opening for the Curt # C15302 that you referenced tucks right up under the rear bumpers so it would give you the exact same ground clearance as your current hitch. Which means your current ball mount would work well too.

  • Why Does a Factory Class V Hitch on a GMC Sierra have Lower Capacities than Aftermarket Hitches
Most aftermarket Class V hitches will have higher ratings than factory hitches. Most aftermarket hitches have higher ratings than the vehicles they are designed for. Since your hitch is factory GMC probably just decided to put the rating that the vehicle has instead of just the hitch so as not to confuse people. Going with a hitch with a higher rating than what the vehicle is rated for would not give you additional capacity. You are only as strong as your weakest component. With...

According to my technical contact at Curt Manufacturing their Class V Hitch # C15302 will fit your truck, if it were equipped with a standard 265mm wide spare, with about an inch of extra space. The hitch was engineering with this tire size in mind. With your wider 285mm tire there will be no space between the tire and hitch. The hitch may still bolt up but not without at least contacting the tire.

The receiver tube on the Curt Class V hitch # C15302 does not have any reinforcement around the hitch pin hole. I went to our warehouse and checked this hitch to be sure. When this feature is included on a hitch it will usually be easy to see since it will be on the outside of the receiver tube. This hitch would work great to tow your 6,000 lb trailer.
