I installed this hitch on a 1991 Dodge W250. It hangs down lower than it needs to for the factory bumper and required drilling the frame to install the hitch. Drilling the frame and the overall installation went well, however there are existing holes that could've been used had the hitch been designed differently. I do understand this hitch is designed for several applications and in that situation it is difficult to make every vehicle a perfect fit. This hitch is very stout, I like the one piece design and the load rating. I have a 14,000 gvw flatbed that I haul a variety of junk on and this hitch is definitely up for the job. The next time I need a hitch I will definitely consider this one.

1993 Dodge Ram Pickup

I put this on our 1993 Dodge dually after I noticed what looked like stress fractures on the old hitch while I was having an exhaust leak repaired. The failure was probably caused by an overloaded dump trailer full of gravel. The price for this Class V hitch from etrailer couldn’t be beat so I bought it. I’ve since pulled serveral large loads with my 3400lb dump trailer, the heaviest being a load of gravel weighing 5.67 tons according to the bill. More than 1000lbs shy of the 16000lb limit and it pulled great, even at over 60 mph. This hitch is heavy and well made. I use a forged ball mount with square tube clamp attached to make the assembly rigid. You’ll be amazed at how much this will quiten all of your towing. I feel like I got a great deal from etrailer on this hitch and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again if we get another truck.

Very happy with the product. Was able to install by myself in a little over an hour, fit like a glove and has performed flawlessly with the loads of firewood I've been hauling. Shipping was fast, and the overall experience with etrailer was absolutely fantastic. Etrailer was one of the only websites that had an accurate description of the frame width/depth dimensions that made ordering the right hitch a breeze. Would recommend Etrailer to anyone in the market for Heavy Duty/Standard Duty Receiver Hitches, and all other trailer needs. Thanks for the great product and will be hauling with this hitch for some time. Have a Blessed day

Ford F-150

Very happy with the service and the products. My Ford F-150 pulls a big trailer, with a lot of equipment weight, so the hitch and accessories have to be heavy-duty. I had a couple of questions, and they were answered within a reasonable amount of time, and I was able to order the correct parts. The order arrived in record time. Everything fit as advertised. I've got a rock-solid trailer hitch now, that's up to the task. eTrailer.com has my full recommendation.

Ford F-350 Super Duty

I bought this product with the understanding it may not fit with my 10" drop bumper though it was designed for my application (1995 F350 DRW). Thanks to etrailer who gave detailed measurements in their FAQ section for the C15300, let me measure my truck and figured I could make it work. It installed fairly straight forward like most hitches and I simply had to adjust the bumper brackets and use 3/8" (.375") x 2" bar stock to make spacer blocks for all the mounting points. It tucked up exactly like I wanted compared to the other options and it fit in place of the step bumper receiver plate I had in place. I purchased the C15300 because I like the fully welded design and gusseting that leads to its ratings. I am very happy with my purchase and etrailer's product offerings.

I found the trailer hitch I needed for my F350, rated for the tow strength I needed, easily. It was at my house in no time. It fit perfectly in the same spot as the old one I was replacing and didn't need any modifications. I haven't towed anything yet but it looks ready to go. If I have any problems Ill come back and modify this post. But so far, so great!

This is my second Curt Class V. Its the strongest I could find for the value, not just in rating but the length of upper rails for frame attachment. Original order said there was a five week backlog. But a day later received notice from et that they would ship it direct (from Curt). For my work truck so I was stuck without it. Bingo, showed up in perfect timing!

Poorly boxed for this item. Took quite a beating enroute. The mounting flanges are out of alignment by 1/2 an inch, which may not seem like much but causes installation issues with mounting hole alignment. As others have noted the holes will have to be enlarged or the flanges spread to match holes in truck frame. Heavy material and well built otherwise. May have been damaged in shipping but more likely when it was welded the flanges "pulled" together. Measures 34 inches wide at cross tube and 33 1/2 at flange face mounting point.

Comments
When a trailer hitch is constructed, softer steel is used in the side plates as opposed to the harder steel used in the crossbar and receiver tube. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle to a certain degree. This flexibility can also allow the hitch to get slightly bent out of position during shipping and handling. The good news is that its very easy to fix this if you know a few tricks as shown in the linked article.

1989 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350

I'm pleased with my purchase. I wanted the highest capacity for my 1988 F350 4WD Crew Cab, that I could find. This one at the time I selected it, had the second highest towing, distributed-towing, and tongue weight rating of all of them (that would fit my truck). There was a really nice Torklift that had double (stacked) 2x2 receivers with the best rating, but it was significantly more expensive, and the Curt I got matches my truck's max tow rating. I didn't set out to get the welded one-piece unit, but it just turned out that way. Having seen it in person, and installed it, if someone has a similar truck, I'd have no problem recommending. It's a heavy heavy unit, that will last the lifetime of the truck.

Mounted pretty easily and had all the necessary hardware. I haven't pulled anything heavy, except some stumps out of the ground, but no issues doing that. I did have to drill holes in my truck's frame, so be sure you have a good 1/2" (I think) bit to drill through frame

  • Fit of Curt Class V C15300 Hitch on 1986 Ford F-350
It sure will. As long as your truck isn't a cab/chassis mode and doesn't have roll pan bumper, the Curt Class V hitch # C15300 will work great. I've linked to an install video showing the hitch being installed on a newer F250, but the fit would be the same for your truck as what's shown in the video.

Yes, since your 2018 Ram 2500 is rated for towing a trailer up to 17,000 lbs you'd have no problem towing a trailer that weighs up to 15,500 lbs. Looks like you have a short bed truck so you'll need to use a slider hitch to give you turning clearance between the cab of the truck and the nose of the trailer. Which for that the B and W Companion slider hitches are the way to go. They are made in the USA, very reliable and well built, easy to use, and hold the king pin of the trailer the...

  • Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15300 Compatibility With Ranch Hand Style Bumper Compared To Factory
For your 1998 Dodge Ram Pickup with ranch hand style bumper, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class V XD - 2" # C15300 is a confirmed fit. I don't know what the factory measurement are on that hitch, especially in regards to an aftermarket bumper. I reached out to my contact at Curt and he thinks you have the best option. He said that the last mounting hole for that bumper is 11 inches to the end of that receiver tube, so you can do a quick measurement to see if this will meet your needs.

  • Front Mount Trailer Hitch for a 1989 Ford F-150 to Mount a Winch
I do have a possible solution for you, but there are currently no custom fit front mount hitch options for your 1989 Ford F-150. You would not want to modify an existing hitch to fit either because that would void the hitch warranty and the modifications could compromise the structural integrity of the hitch. But you could have one custom fabricated. We have numerous hitch raw materials which I have linked for you. You would need a qualified professional to fabricate a hitch for you...

  • Finding Towing Capacities for a 2018 BMW X5 Diesel and Brake Controller Recommendation
The best places to look for capacity information for your 2018 BMW X5 are the owner's manual in the towing section and the sticker in the driver's side door jamb that also lists the tire pressure. Normally I would look these things up myself but with BMW you have to have a VIN number to see the owner's manual pdf files.
