This hitch receiver fit our 2015 Ford Edge Sport perfectly! I installed the required trailer wiring kit myself, but had our mechanic install the hitch itself. While noted in the item description, you do need to remove the bezels around the exhaust exit on both sides. The plastic underside body panel on each side needs to be modified, but the dimensions shown on the install instructions not accurate for a precise fit (use 3” x 7” instead). Quality is excellent with perfect welds and gloss black paint.

Hitch looks and feels great! No 5 star because because it would be better to have 6 fish strings for the bolts and also more like a 8 for difficulty to install. The video helped a lot but when it came to where to fish things through the video was way to vague.

Great hitch for the Ford Edge. Bolts right on! I watched a YouTube video as I installed it. The video made installation a lot easier.

2018 Ford Edge

The hitch fits perfect. The install requires 2 people and there are 6 bolts and only 4 fish wires. All the Curt videos show 6 fish wires. What's up with that?

Comments
Per the Curt instructions, only 4 fish wires come with this kit.

I'm very happy with this product. The only downside is the hatch opening sensor doesn't always work which probably can't be helped because of where the hitch is attached.

Comments
The hitch is working out well. Good quality.

The hitch blended in to the back of the car that You had to look for it to be able to see it. Almost like it disappeared. As for mounting you need to be able to get your arms in tight places. The hardware came with 4 bolt fishers and 6 bolts. Need 2 more added to hardware supplies. Not a job for someone with little experience. Video is a must watch.

I just installed the hitch. It took me and my son-in-law one hour and we are novices. An RV center wanted to charge $1,347 for a hitch and installation. They were charging for 6 hours to install! The hitch was designed for my 2020 Fors edge so no holes had to be drilled. This made the installation a little hard feeding the bus through the fram with the fish wire that was provided. I am thrilled that instead of paying $1,347 it cost me only $165 plus sn hour of time.

Excellent hitch. E-Trailer also is an excellent site with amazing customer service. I was hesitant at first, but was really surprised at how great the experience has been. 10/10 would buy again.

Great hitch even if it was a little overkill for my personal use. Install was straightforward thanks to the etrailer instructions and videos. One tip, if you can’t get the vehicle high off the ground it is extremely helpful to have a second pair of hands while getting the first bolt threaded. After that it was smooth sailing

I consider myself a pretty good do-it-yourselfer and get immense satisfaction out of the challenge. The Curt class 3 installation DIY video really helps! Video shows Ford Edge on a lift, but on the ground (no jacking or lifting needed) where everything is accessible. Don't forget to have a good 1" adjustable strap to hold exhaust low enough to fit Curt trailer hitch between dual exhaust outlets. Use a little floor jack in the middle to balance and adjust to a desired height (note: cover area with cardboard where trailer hitch meets jack). I finished the trailer hitch in a little over 1-1/2 hours.

by:
2019 Ford Edge

Fit as described and looks good. The instructions on keeping the fishwire on the side side rail bolts could be emphasized in bold or underlined. I missed that part and lost them down inside the frame rail.

2016 Ford Edge

After several attempts I am able to get the hands free liftgate feature to work. Nowhere as easily as before unfortunately. I've found that it only works if you actually contact the tow hitch (at three specific points noted in the attachment) directly with the top of your foot. Fairly slowly of course. You don't want to accidentally hit your shin bone. What I don't know is if all Edge Sports will respond the same.

Very pleased with this product. Installation was pretty simple. I did it by myself but would recommend having some help. Spent about two hours on installation.

- C13234

The trailer hitch arrived quickly. I had a problem with one of the fish wires but called and explained the issue and another was shipped right out. The hitch is good quality and looks good also. I watched the install video a couple times and that helped me with the installation process a lot. It did take me longer than the 60 minutes the instructions indicated but I went slow to be sure I did it well and correctly. Now that I'm "experienced" I'm sure I could be quicker the next time.

2015 Ford Edge

Very pleased. Hitch bolted on easily and fit vehicle perfectly. Installation video was incredibly helpful and easy to understand. Hitch was installed in less than an hour. Took almost as long to modify underbody panels. Photos on instruction sheet are too small to offer orientation perspective. Would be great if these were enlarged and placed on back of instruction sheet since it is blank.

- C13234
by:

Made by Curt, a leader in the industry. Great price. Packed in heavy cardboard with all the mounting hardware at a great price. All of this and an instructional video available that is model and trim level specific, is the cherry on top.

I looked at the different hitches available for my 2015 Ford Edge Sel and decided on the Curt C13234 because you are able to reinstall the heat shield that attaches to the rear bumper skin. This hitch was fairly straight forward to install. The video helps considerably. I plan to use the hitch for a bike rack. I am always happy with the service and product line up that etrailer offers.

Wave

Pretty easy to install and has held up great for a year now. Only issue is that it does block some sensors for opening my trunk door; had to learn what sweet spot to wave my foot to open the trunk since the hitch blocks some sensors.

Right off the bat the customer service was phenomenal! I received an email when my order was placed and when my order was shipped. When it arrived I received another email confirming my receipt. Installation was a breeze! There was a video attached to the email with my order that was step-by-step on my exact year, make and model. When I opened the box, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I needed to make this installation seamless came with it! I have never been so pleased with purchasing and installing a trailer hitch. This should be everyone's one-stop shop for trailer hitch and accessory needs!

- C13234
by:

the hitch fits very good, all the holes line up perfectly with the frame and it fits up tight against the bumper cover. the time estimate to install the hitch is very unrealistic. fishing the bolts through the frame rails is a time consuming operation. it isn't difficult, just time consuming. if you get in a hurry and lose the bolt in the frame rail, like what happened to me on a previous installation, it is not easy to get it back out. some of these cautions should be added to the instructions.

The hitch itself feels like its really well made and seems to welds look perfectly done. MY STORY I had ordered from another online retailer FIRST and that was a mistake. The hitch took like two weeks to arrive and what was worst it was only shrink wrapped, no box, no packaging, just a plastic protecting hitch. So when that finally arrived its was scratched and dented. I decide to pull trigger on ETRAILER. *better price *faster shipping *better packaging Thats not including all the helpful information on the website. My moral of my story. Order from here and all the pictures, videos , etc are a huge plus which definitely helped me decide what to order..

- C13234
by:

The hitch looks great and works great. But watch out for the installation. The video is very helpful, except the video install is done on a lift. If you don't have a lift, you will have to crawl around on your garage floor, even with the card on jack stands. Running the wire to the battery was also a challenge, again because there was little space under the car to move around. It's definitely doable by a do-it-yourselfer, but give yourself extra time, have patience and definitely have a helper (my 14 year old boy now knows a lot about hitch towing).
