This hitch receiver fit our 2015 Ford Edge Sport perfectly! I installed the required trailer wiring kit myself, but had our mechanic install the hitch itself. While noted in the item description, you do need to remove the bezels around the exhaust exit on both sides. The plastic underside body panel on each side needs to be modified, but the dimensions shown on the install instructions not accurate for a precise fit (use 3” x 7” instead). Quality is excellent with perfect welds and gloss black paint.

Very pleased with this product. Installation was pretty simple. I did it by myself but would recommend having some help. Spent about two hours on installation.

The hitch itself feels like its really well made and seems to welds look perfectly done. MY STORY I had ordered from another online retailer FIRST and that was a mistake. The hitch took like two weeks to arrive and what was worst it was only shrink wrapped, no box, no packaging, just a plastic protecting hitch. So when that finally arrived its was scratched and dented. I decide to pull trigger on ETRAILER. *better price *faster shipping *better packaging Thats not including all the helpful information on the website. My moral of my story. Order from here and all the pictures, videos , etc are a huge plus which definitely helped me decide what to order..

Right off the bat the customer service was phenomenal! I received an email when my order was placed and when my order was shipped. When it arrived I received another email confirming my receipt. Installation was a breeze! There was a video attached to the email with my order that was step-by-step on my exact year, make and model. When I opened the box, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I needed to make this installation seamless came with it! I have never been so pleased with purchasing and installing a trailer hitch. This should be everyone's one-stop shop for trailer hitch and accessory needs!

A trailer hitch is a trailer hitch and works fine. Its you guys and your generous guidance and counselling that makes the difference.

Install was a little tricky. Would have given 5 stars if they provided 6 wire fishes instead of just 4. Would have saved a decent amount of time and skin on my hands. Appears to be a good hitch and would buy again.

I consider myself a pretty good do-it-yourselfer and get immense satisfaction out of the challenge. The Curt class 3 installation DIY video really helps! Video shows Ford Edge on a lift, but on the ground (no jacking or lifting needed) where everything is accessible. Don't forget to have a good 1" adjustable strap to hold exhaust low enough to fit Curt trailer hitch between dual exhaust outlets. Use a little floor jack in the middle to balance and adjust to a desired height (note: cover area with cardboard where trailer hitch meets jack). I finished the trailer hitch in a little over 1-1/2 hours.

2019 Ford Edge

I installed this hitch to use for a bike rack. Installation went just as described in the etrailer.com videos and user reviews. I didn't have to enlarge frame holes, or mess with or remove any heat shield or bumper parts. 5.5 mm is an odd size socket so I used needle-nosed vice grips to get those screws out of the trim panel instead. Took very little torque. If you don't have a pry bar, get a set of rubber isolator removal pliers to save some frustration on the exhaust hanger removal. The hardware kit only comes with 4 fish wires as noted in other reviews, but you can remove the wires on the 2 vertical bolts and start the other side since gravity will hold them in place. I recommend you leave the fish wires in position on the horizontal bolt on each side until you get the other two nuts on. This way you can re-position the bolt in case you accidentally push the bolt into the frame while raising the hitch up into place. It's easier to have two people raise the hitch into position. You do need to trim the plastic splash guards to fit around the installed bumper to get them back on. I removed a strip about 3/4" by 6" instead of the large area they cut in the videos. Be sure to watch the video for the Curt C12140 if you want to get an idea of the 2020 Ford Edge model year specific frame design and undercarriage layout. The most current model installation video for this hitch is 2018 or 2019 Edge. Took me about 1.5 hours and looks like a factory install.

After several attempts I am able to get the hands free liftgate feature to work. Nowhere as easily as before unfortunately. I've found that it only works if you actually contact the tow hitch (at three specific points noted in the attachment) directly with the top of your foot. Fairly slowly of course. You don't want to accidentally hit your shin bone. What I don't know is if all Edge Sports will respond the same.

Not the first time I've bought one of your hitches! They always arrive in a timely manner. Comes with complete instructions and all needed hardware. I'm 70 years old and installed this myself, with a minimal amount of cussin!!

I looked at the different hitches available for my 2015 Ford Edge Sel and decided on the Curt C13234 because you are able to reinstall the heat shield that attaches to the rear bumper skin. This hitch was fairly straight forward to install. The video helps considerably. I plan to use the hitch for a bike rack. I am always happy with the service and product line up that etrailer offers.

The product itself seems pretty good and sturdy but for me the install was pretty tough. I have done 3 other hitches myself and this was the hardest. Specifically because of the space where thebfishwore has to be routed through and pulled out of. Tiny clearance

2017 Ford Edge

The fit and finish of this product on a 2017 Ford Edge in general is excellent, however, if you are installing on a Ford Edge Titanium model the install details are not complete. The bottom trim required trimming around the hitch receptacle as well as on the edges, as shown in the video. Another disappointment was that the kit only included four chase wires for six mounting plates and bolts. To have a guide wire on each bolt during the mounting I had to craft two additional guide wires for use after chasing the platesand bolts through all six holes with the provided wires.

- C13234
by:

Clear instructions, easy install and no issues.

- C13234
by:

the hitch fits very good, all the holes line up perfectly with the frame and it fits up tight against the bumper cover. the time estimate to install the hitch is very unrealistic. fishing the bolts through the frame rails is a time consuming operation. it isn't difficult, just time consuming. if you get in a hurry and lose the bolt in the frame rail, like what happened to me on a previous installation, it is not easy to get it back out. some of these cautions should be added to the instructions.

Great quality product. Got the hitch for a 2015 Edge Sport. Installed myself watching their videos on YouTube. Also comes with detailed instructions. Great fit n finish.

Just installed myself on 2017 Ford Edge SEL. Fit was great. Only had two issues. 1) they only supplied 4 not 6 wire pulls for the 6 bolts in my kit. So I had to get 4 installed on the hitch with nuts on the bolts and take the wire pulls off and use 2 on then last two bolts after the hitch was mounts. 2) as is mentioned in previous review, the bolts closest to the rear of the car are not possible to access with a standard 1/2" torque wrench and even short socket (which is all I had). Have to use a regular 3/4" closed end wrench, so just pulled as hard as I could to try to match the 110 ft-lb I got on the others with a torque wrench. The hitch itself curves into the area for access, so its not the car or mounting, its the hitch itself. Watching video really helped and the tip in another review to use floor jack to raise the hitch in place if doing by yourself which i was. Note that if you are putting on the 4 connector harness on the Edge, it will not fit between the hitch and the exhaust heat shield trim at the back of the car when that's re-installed after the hitch is done if you are trying to route it around the back of the hitch bar and up from underneath the bar at the bottom. Not sure I would want to route that way anyway since the cable is then on the side of the muffler. Otherwise went just like video and instructions say. looks good.

The hitch itself is great! Heavy duty and solid fit. The reason for 4 stars is the lack of info regarding HOW the hitch would fit on my Ford Edge Sport. There was no mention that the holes in the frame needed to be widened in order for the bolts to fit, and therefore, didn’t provide any suggested tools or methods for doing so. I figured it out, but this is just another example of something “fitting your vehicle” when in reality, it only fits after certain modifications. A half hour job took half a day.

I'm very happy with this product. The only downside is the hatch opening sensor doesn't always work which probably can't be helped because of where the hitch is attached.

- C13234
by:
2015 Ford Edge

The product itself was of the highest quality. However the instructions for the included mounting hardware could have been written better. There was some confusion with the installation and after the point of no return I realized there was a better way to install it without following the instructions. Would have been far easier to use a jack to jack up the tow bar into place on the vehicle and only then start installing the hardware, rather than install the hardware and then fumble with the tow bar raising it up into place hoping you don't knock the hardware into the vehicle frame channel. Pro tip: make sure you have magnet and inspection mirror handy as there is a good change you will drop the mounting hardware inside the vehicle frame and have no way else to retrieve it........unless you plan to remove the rear number too.

The Curt Class III receiver hitch, part # C13234 will indeed fit your 2017 Ford Edge Sport. • Is Trimming the Side Panels Required for the Curt Hitch C13234 On a 2019 Ford Edge
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13234 is a great option for a 2019 Ford Edge. In regards to trimming, this is only very minor and would not create any issue on the vehicle. The side panels will need to be trimmed slightly as the hitch actually mounts to a spot on the frame where they are partially secured. I cannot recommend you sandwich the side panel between the hitch and frame or between the frame and hardware. Therefore, yes this is absolutely necessary but very minor. I took...
