Installation was straightforward and simple, just follow the video. We did use a lift, and that made it much easier than laying on the ground like I did when installing the eTrailer hitch on my Honda CR-V. I purchased the Curt hitch over the eTrailer this time because it sticks out a little further past the bumper. I have the Thule T2 Pro XL bike rack and wanted the extra clearance. Your bike rack video shown the installation of the eTrailer hitch using the Thule T2 XL, on a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, same SUV I have, and the clearance is only 1 1/2 inches so I wanted a little more clearance. The Curt hitch provides 3 inches of clearance between the bike rack and the back of the SUV. Thanks for proving all the installation videos, it really helps in making the correct decision.

Product arrived quickly and packaged appropriately. I am not a mechanic but after watching the videos on this website, I decided to try this installation myself. The instructions stated a novice installer could complete it in 90 minutes. It took me 3 hours. I installed the hitch alone and took my time to not rush anything. The biggest challenge was lifting the hitch up by myself while installing the mounting bolts. I would suggest a helper for this step but none the less I was able to get it up there with the support of an extra jack stand to hold one end while I affixed the other. This seems like a solid hitch although we will only be using it for a bike rack. It was half the price of the "factory" hitch that the dealer offered and I saved $300 by installing myself. I would recommend this hitch and etrailer.com had the best price I could find.

Still happy with the hitch. We do not tow. Only used for a bike rack.

2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

I must admit that the ease of installation for a hitch thanks to factory prepared spots in the frame was a factor in my purchase of my 2020 Santa Fe. I really wanted to be able to make use of a hitch mounted bike carrier that I've had for several years. Installation went pretty smoothly overall thanks to the videos that etrailer provides on the sight. I did have a bit of trouble with the long bolts on the passenger side, even with my son helping me with the install. I ended up needing a hammer and long screwdriver to tap the bolt through to frame. However, after that, it was pretty straight forward. Install was made a lot easier thanks to a pair of ramps that I have - $40 from a local vendor that have been well worthwhile for getting under my vehicles for things like oil changes. The hitch is reasonably well hidden, particularly when viewed from a normal height and distance. With my 4 bike carrier, even with a bike in the closest position to the tailgate, there's no danger of my bike/pedals hitting the car and scratching up the paint. And, with the drop capability of the carrier, I can actually access the cargo area of my Santa Fe without having to unload my bike. Really looking forward to taking this out for some camping trips and biking some trails.

Curt makes excellent products and etrailer is an excellent retailer with thorough installation videos and product details that help with the process. Installation went fairly easily, and because it was just myself this time I used a rolling lift jack to help position the hitch into place which helped immensely. The key I found to making the install go smoothly is to lay out the nuts and bolts on their respective sides. But with that said, make sure you know which bolt is which, if I recall (it has been a year since installing this) a couple of the bolts look somewhat similar but cannot be swapped, the shorter of the two will not fully catch the thread of the nut because the attachment point was thicker than on the other side. Otherwise getting this attached to my Sorento was a breeze in comparison to attaching a hitch to my CX5 (difficulty level: high).

Purchased for a 2019 Santa Fe - After doing some research and reading reviews on here, I took a chance on this tow hitch. I was very happy with the end results as this hitch looks flawless on my vehicle. One minor issue was that my mechanic said that since this hitch was universal, he had to make a slight adjustment in order for the wire harness to fit. Other than that, everything went smooth and the installation was completed within an hour. Excellent purchase!!

We've had the hitch for a year. Quality seems very good. I installed it myself on our Hyundai Santa Fe. Everything went smoothly and it works just like it should. It's mostly used for a bike rack, so no experiences with heavy towing on this vehicle.

So far so good. It took a while to ship I'm guessing due to demands with Covid but it was in good condition when it arrived. I had my mechanic install it. He said all the parts where there and it went on pretty easily if you follow the install video. The hitch is low profile and doesn't stick out.

Well, the installation was a little different than expected... Had no problem lowering the spare tire and dropping the exhaust. The problem we had was that the bolt holes on the passenger side would not line up. After reading other reviews from etrailer and other sources, it seemed like I wasn’t the only one who had this problem. We ended up strapping a row rope to the right side of the hitch and connecting it to a Dodge truck. Pulled until the bolts lined up (didn’t need to move it much.). 3 people, and 3 hours later, we got it done (if you account the rain delay). If there’s a next time, I’ll spend the $125.00 to have someone else install it.

That is one of the most inventive ways we have seen customers solve the flexed hitch problem. And it sounds like it worked just dandy! The problem you are describing is not uncommon and is what we call a flexed hitch. The hitches do occasionally get bent slightly out of shape during the shipping process. Just check and make sure that you dont see any cracks in the paint or chipping where it was flexed, because that would indicate the hitch has been manipulated enough to be considered unsafe.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD. I put mine on with my vehicle parked over a low spot, no problem. Install was exactly as described and went pretty smoothly. Removing the rubber muffler mounts was not difficult without tools, and a little spray lube made putting them back on simple. There were two metal pins coming from the bumper that got in the way of two of the carriage bolts, but a little prying with screwdriver or pliers and the bolts will clear them. Putting the 110 ft-lbs on the 1/2" nuts was also tough while laying on my back. Getting the spare tire back up into place took some finagleing, that space is tighter now. Hitch feels sturdy and well built.

Installed on a 2020 Sante Fe SEL in my garage, did not lift the vehicle, so a little tight. I also wired for trailer lights and that too was simple. Looks good, should work perfectly. Will be using to pull utility trailer, bike rack, and carrier.

I ordered this Curt hitch receiver for my 2017 Kia Sorento and it was very easy to install. it took me about 4 hours to do the hitch plus the wiring but thats mostly because I had no choice but to do this on my back and take several breaks. The wiring for it, which the site specifies which one you need when you pick this hitch receiver, is completely plug and play so its very simple. NO DRILLING IS REQUIRED! I was very pleased with the results of this install.

What a great experience. I was surprised to get an email from customer service noting a potential mistake I made concerning part incompatibility in my order (wrong size hitchball). I was very grateful she caught that and quickly responded to my request that the correct part be substituted. The whole transaction was excellent, the hitch receiver was installed relatively easily with the help of good instructions (I stripped a bolt and had to run to the hardware store for another), and everything works well. My only concern now is how I'm supposed to deal with all the other companies when the bar for customer service has been raised so high.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0T HTRAC. The hitch is beautiful, top quality built, fast delivery, excellent customer service (Thanks becky!). The only problem was during installation, the video fails to take into account a steel pin that gets in the way on the side over the muffler and also the fact that there is a small gap of about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch between the hitch and the frame of the car on that side as well. If you use a crow bar you can move the pin over and the gap starts out a little big but just tighten the bolts as best you can and that should tighten it up a little. I was told by etrailer that as long as its tightened up it is normal and the gap shouldn't be a problem for towing. Haven't towed anything yet but very happy with purchase and just wish I knew about those little details, otherwise would be 5 stars.

Installed the C13195 in my new Santa Fe so I didn't have any problems with dirt or crud accumulated at the attachment points. I did the most of the work by myself so it took a while to complete the installation. Since I'm 67 years old it took a while but I imagine two hours would be a realistic time for two people. We'll use the hitch to carry a receiver mounted bike rack and tow a trailer. The money we saved buying from etrailer, and doing the installation myself, paid for a complete Thule Roof Rack system. We're to travel. Thanks etrailer.

Everything on etrailer’s end was great. The shipping was pretty quick and everything I bought arrived. The products were everything I needed to complete the job. I would say however that the install was not as easy as the videos suggest and I would pay someone next time to install. There’s one bolt I still haven’t gotten in because I can’t get it started. Otherwise everything went well. The hitch and lights work great.

2018 Kia Sorento

Application is a 2018 Kia Sorento. Well, you certainly could argue that this is now the heaviest piece of metal on this car. Very substantial, heavy metal attractive hitch nicely powder coated. Arrived with no visible damage and installation generally went without a hitch. (Sorry). Generally. Turns out, whether due to manufacturing tolerances on the hitch or in South Korea, the hitch was NOT an exact fit. Bolt holes did not align perfectly and despite slots, they were out of reach of the threads on the bottom pre-threaded holes. Solution was to insert and tighten sideways mounting carriage bolts to stretch the hitch an ocean rabbit or two in order to get the bottom bolts into their threads properly. then it was an ordeal of back and forth tightening and loosening to slowly coax the hitch into position for bolting, and then into best position for strength. Even after all that, the metal plate that bolts to the frame rails never did align well with an (eventually) modest gap between the passenger frame rail and the hitch's side plate for that rail. See photo (doesn't show it the best but there's a gap). I cranked those carriage bolts as tight as i could without either them giving up or me bending the framerail on the truck. So, now on the passenger side i have two carriage bolts and two vertical bolts carrying the hitch basically in shear, without the full benefit and strength of the clamping effect of that side plate. It will probably be OK for my uses but i'll need to be extra vigilant retightening for a while and it is definitely compromised strength in my non-professional opinion. Other than that, installation instructions and everything were as represented. I probably would have gone with 3 stars but the hitch may be a little over-built so i should be OK. Still, a real bear to install properly.

Nice product and shipped very quickly. Would definitely buy from Etrailer again! Came with detailed instructions to install. But be warned, the hitch is HEAVY and a DIY installation will probably take a novice (like me) 2-3 hours to complete. It's definitely possible to do yourself with the instructions provided, but I highly recommend taking to a professional auto body shop. Removing pieces to make room for the hitch (splash guard, muffler, etc) and then maneuvering the hitch into place is very tricky, especially if you are one person laying on your back.

Hitch arrived well packed. I had [local shop] install it for approximatley $160. I will use the hitch to transport bikes. The hitch once installed on my 2019 Santa Fe needed an extension to get my bike rack away from the bumper/back of the car. Once the extension was installed everything worked as expected. Get product from Curt and great price and service from etrailer. Regards

Very easy to install. Very good instructions on paper and in video. It took around an hour. Hitch does not stick out too far so it is hidden well. This is the 2nd vehicle I have installed an etrailer hitch on. Previous vehicle was the same easy install.

The weight ratings for the Curt # C13195 and Draw-Tite # 75908 for your 2019 Kia Sorento do differ but since they both exceed the max weight ratings for your Sorento (found in your owner's manual) they don't really play an important role when comparing these 2 hitches. The biggest difference between the Curt and Draw-Tite options is that Curt requires that the support strap # 18050 be used for any non-trailer loads like a bike rack whereas the Draw-Tite doesn't have this same requirement. We do have trailer hitches for your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, Draw-Tite # 75908 and Curt # C13195. These are identical in design and installation but I suggest the Curt # C13195 since it offers a higher tongue weight rating. Extra capacity is never a bad thing. For a 4-pole wiring harness for the trailer lights I suggest the Tekonsha # 118784 which will plug in under the car on the driver's side. The picture included shows the connector that will plug in at the tow package harness under...

This custom Class III hitch will use existing holes in your vehicle's frame so you won't have to drill into your brand new Santa Fe. I have attached an image a customer sent in of the hitch on his 19 model Santa Fe just so you...

Yes, I can tell you what you will need to tow with your 2016 Kia Sorento with the factory tow package. First, for a trailer hitch, a popular option is Curt hitch # C13195. This hitch is rated for 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 750 pounds tongue weight but you are limited to the towing capacity of the vehicle expressed in the owner's manual. For a trailer wiring harness you can use # 118269 which was designed for models with the factory tow package. This harness provides a 4-Way...

The trailer hitch with the highest tongue weight capacity that fits your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13195 which has a 750 lb tongue weight capacity and 5,000 lb towing capacity. This is compared to the Draw-Tite # 75908 which has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity while sharing its 5,000 lb towing capacity. • Why is Curt 2-inch Class III Hitch C13195 for 2016 Kia Sorento Not Rated for Weight Distribution
You are correct that the Curt 2-inch Class III hitch # C13195, and the other similar hitches offered for your 2016 Kia Sorento V6 with tow package, cannot be used with weight distribution systems. This relates not to the hitches themselves but to the strength of the vehicle's frame structure. This is enough to meet the hitches' base rating of 5000-lbs towing weight, but it is not strong enough to allow for a higher weight distribution rating. You can add sway control independent...
