Video Transcript for Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Kia Sorento

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Kia Sorento, we're gonna take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Curt Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver. This offers the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, as part number: C13195. Now, here's what our hitch is gonna look like when you get it installed. You'll see the cross tube come run across to about this point, then a bracket is gonna tuck up and over the hitch, and then of course, it's gonna go over and match up to the frame. You've got the hardware. There's no drilling or anything like that required, so it's a pretty easy installation.

It's a Class III hitch, so we've got the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, nice flush reinforcement collar around the end there, and it's gonna be inside the outer edge of the bumper so we're not gonna have to worry about running into it or anything like that.Since this is a Class III hitch, it's gonna make it extremely versatile. Works out really well with bike racks, cargo carriers, just about any type of accessory they'd make to go on a hitch is probably gonna come in a Class III variety. To hold those items in place, you'll want to use the 5/8" diameter pin hole you see here on the side. You can use a standard pin and clip, locking hitch pin, or anti-rattle device. Looks like you're gonna have plenty of room around there for that to work.

Our safety chain connection points are plate-style. It's not too wide here, so any type chain you should be able to get connected without a real big issue, and it's plenty open if you want to even use some of the larger ones. The hitch has a 750 pound tongue weight rating. That's the maximum downward force we can put at our receiver tube opening. And it offers a 5,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That'd be the total weight of your trailer and anything you we're to load up on it.

You definitely want to check the owner's manual on the Sorento, though. See what its tow rating is and not exceed that. Now, one thing to keep in mind when hauling non-wheeled loads something like a cargo carrier or a bike rack, anything really other than a trailer Curt does recommend the use of an additional support strap. Now, a couple measurements you'll find helpful for selecting your ball mount, bike rack, or hitch cargo carrier, will be from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening, we've got about 13". Then from the center of our hitch pin hole, to the outermost edge of our bumper, it's about 3-1/2".To begin our installation, we're gonna need to lower down the spare tire. So you want to get into the back side of the car, lift up on this lever, and open this little panel.

You'll just use a flat-blade screwdriver and you'll see right down here on the driver's side floor, the spare tire cover. So we'll pop that off, then we'll have a nut right there. Now you can use your spare tire tool, or a 21mm socket. Now we're just gonna get that lowered down. You don't need to completely remove it, but you do need it down and out of the way to give your hitch room. Now we're gonna move to the outside of the vehicle. We're here on the driver's side rear corner. We're gonna take this plastic panel down. There's a couple fasteners holding it in. We've got one, two, three, four push pin fasteners here on the outside. Basically, you're just gonna take the center section of that out, and pull the whole thing out. Now, hang onto these, we're gonna put them back in later. There's a fifth one of these, the exact same style, that's gonna be right up here on this front edge, right up there. Now we'll go right up on the top. You see these little cutouts here, right above them there are push nuts. If you'll use a 14mm socket you can just reach up there and unthread those. It doesn't take a lot of effort. Pull down on that so we can get that rotated out of the way.Now we can start lowering our exhaust down. We're gonna be removing three exhaust hangers. We've got one located right here. If we come caddy corner on the exhaust, we've got it right up here, kind of just inside of our passenger rear tire. And then if we'll follow this pipe up just a little bit, there's one here in the middle of the car. Now, your best bet for getting these removed is usually just a little bit of spray lubricant, and then a big screwdriver or pry bar. You just kind of want to push out on them. All right. That'll buy us a little bit of room so we can get our hitch up into position. On the driver's side, for our attachment points, we're gonna be using the rear weld nut, which you can see right here, and then we've got the two holes through the frame here and here. We want to clean this weld nut out just to make sure there's no debris or rust in there that will keep our bolt from starting. I use a little bit of spray lubricant and a nylon tube brush. This is part number: 814092. Now, on the passenger side we're gonna be using both of the weld nuts, here and here, and then also the two holes that pass through just like the driver's side. Just in front of where our weld nuts are, we're gonna have a frame plug on each side. We want to pull that down and out of the way. Now, with the help of an extra set of hands, we'll get our hitch lifted in position. We're gonna go over the exhaust on the passenger side. Then we go up into the driver's side. We've got these short M10 bolts we're gonna thread into those weld nuts. You can see our conical tooth washer, it's gonna have little teeth. We want those facing up towards our hitch. Once we have three or four good turns on that, we'll just let our hitch rest there while we get our other hardware in place. Now you want to take the larger of your carriage bolts. They're gonna be the same length. We've got two that are 1/2" and two that are a smaller 7/16". The driver's side will use the two larger ones. We're gonna go through our hitch side plate, come out here on the inside, and we can thread on our nut. We'll do the same thing for the rear hole location. Now, these we pass from the outside of the frame rail, through to the middle. Now we'll use our smaller ones here on the passenger side, and they're gonna go from the inside of the frame rail to the outside. Now we'll take our smaller flange nuts, and we're gonna thread one one that. Take the last bolt, we're gonna put it through the rear hole location. Now we want to go through and torque down all of our fasteners to the specifications, which will be listed in our instructions. For the 1/2" bolts we'll use a 3/4" socket or a 19mm. On our M10 bolts we'll use a 17mm socket. On our 7/16" carriage bolt, we'll use an 11/16" socket. Now we're gonna get our panel pushed back in place here. Just want to line up your holes, line up those studs with those nuts, and then you'll just push up. That's gonna hold that there, then we just need to put our push fasteners in. Remember, we took out five; four on this edge, and one on the front. Now we'll get our exhaust put back up in position. It's a good idea here to use a little bit more spray lubricant, and that'll help guide those on a little bit. Now we can get that spare put back in position. As you do, you might have to bring it up behind the hitch, just to kind of get it started, then bring it on up.With everything back in place, that's gonna complete our installation of the Curt Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number: C13195, on our 2018 Kia Sorento.

Hitch was purchased for 18' kia sorento lx. Shipped on time. Packaging was good. Hitch matched discription on website. Installation has minor issues, mainly due to confined space of the back end of the kia. 1.Passenger side carraige bolts were very snug. had to wack them through. 2. plastic guard removed from driver side did not go back in properly. the downward screw did not line back up with the hole. this is caused by the round top of the carraige bolt taking up the space that the plastic lip uses. recommend shaving lip on plastic guard. 3. finding room underneath to torque the bolts is frustrating. otherwise great product highly recommend. 568244

Arrived in decent shape for the weight. Packing could be better though (tape was frustrating). Hitch was dirty, and grit was all over in the box. Heavy scratches on the powder coat here and there. The exposed portion was ok visually though. Functionally, bolts right up on my 2017 Sorento. Silicone spray those exhaust hangers and they come off nicely. Took about 1.5hrs to do complete hitch and harness install. Instruction photos too dark to be useful... used video from etrailer instead. I don't know why hardware is a mix of imperial and SI (metric). 2017, shouldn't it all be SI? 345066

I just finished installing this a few hours ago so I haven't had a chance to test it but so far I am happy with it. It has a great looking glossy powder coat. Welds look clean and strong. And it fits my vehicle like a glove. Installation was a nightmare but that wasn't any fault of the product. I installed it laying on back on the garage floor on a 95-degree afternoon by myself. There was a lot of sweat, definitely a busted knuckle, and there may have been some cursing involved. There is absolutely no play when it comes to extra room to fit and maneuver the screws, bolts, and hitch itself. That may come across as a bad thing, but when I go to pull a trailer or a boat then I don't want any wiggle room. I want everything tight and firm. I'm not complaining about the tight fit, I just want to let everyone know that it takes some effort but will go together just like the instructions and video on this website show. Just take your time and you will be fine. 522695

I ordered three products from e-Trailer and was impressed with what arrived at my door, needing a bike rack that would hold four full size bikes I searched many different sites. E-trailer had the best reviews and descriptions of each which made my decision easy, the quality of each product showed as soon as I opened the boxes. The hitch was easy to install and looked good on the truck, the bike rack was just as easy to install and put four full size bike on. Being able to fit four bikes was a very big part of why I ordered it. We had recently upgraded all the kids to new bikes which the old rack would never have handled. As we prepared for vacation the four bikes fit nicely, it does take a little thinking of how to best lay them out but after figuring that out I was impressed with how well they fit and how sturdy the rack was. Thank you for your help in making this vacation a success. 287439

Product was just the right fit installation was done in 42 minutes from start to finish muffler hangers where the hardest. All the holes lined up instructions where easy to follow and the video was a help also watched that first then did the install. I used my son to help hold it up for the first bolt after that it was easy for him to the finish the rest. Will be using this with my Hollywood 4 place bike carrier it looks sturdy enough to tow a small trailer, but anything else you would need a brake controller and electric brakes on the trailer the KIA in my opinion is not made for towing large trailers. Great product shipped fast and good costumer support and follow up from George at etrailer thanks again.. 271621

Always ordered all my trailer hitches from etrailer.com since 2012. When order placed I get a follow up email immediately and then when they ship the merchandise which usually is the following work day. It takes approximately 3 to 4 days to receive my order and I get another confirmation email that it has been delivered with helpful videos and information on installation within the contents of the email. I’ve ordered both brands draw-tite and curt hitches with easy install myself and never had any problems with their products. Shipping is also a plus as they offer free shipping and their prices are the lowest I’ve found online. Thanks to the great staff there at etrailer.com 568540

I must admit, was a bit nervous about ordering my hitch, wiring harness, ball and ball mount from etrailer due to a large number of negative reviews I had read. I noticed that most of these reviews were not recent but from years past. Not having any relationship with etrailer, my skepticism with this transaction was high, at the time of my order, but the unbeatable price, free shipping and video tutorials encouraged me to submit my order and take my chances. The order process was flawless and I was convinced that I was ordering to proper parts for may vehicle. My products arrived on the date promised and in great shape, after reviewing the video's once again, I tackled the installation process. The install went without issue. and I was testing my new towing capabilities in less than 2 hours with the electrical installed as well. I have no complaints with my etrailer experience and would not hesitate another purchase from etrailer. Thank you for you service and product. 375013

Trailer hitch and wiring kit were a “perfect” fit. All holes lined up properly all necessary nuts/bolts provided. Videos for installation are very helpful and provide clear views of all the key issues for a simple professional installation. I found the paper instructions for both confusing and poor quality graphics. Video the only way to go! My experience with initial ordering, delivery and follow up questions were very good. These folks really know what quality customer service is as well a produce an excellent product. 409929

Had it installed at local shop because I do not have a lift. It went right in and took them like 20 mins maybe including wiring harness (do wish it had wiring harness face plate spot). Just gotta get ball and locking pin and we are golden! Thank you etrailer.com for faster than fast free shipping and great product at great price. 575985

The hitch is built really heavy duty. I would give it five stars except for the fact the installation did not go smoothly. I installed this hitch onto a 2018 Kia Sorento. This Curt hitch didn't install as easily as a Towrite hitch I purchased for our Kia Soul. All was going good until I went to install the carriage bolt that was on the top, forward hole on the passenger side. The slot in the hitch didn't quite line up with the hole in the car frame. Caused the bolt to be at a slight angle and would not slip all the way through the frame hole. You are working above the muffler and it's tight quarters. I was concerned about buggering the threads, but I had to take a drift and hammer and drive the bolt in. It was that or take the hitch all the way out and enlarge the slot some on the top edge of the hitch bracket. Luckily after driving the bolt through the bolt threads were ok and the nut went on. All other bolts installed fairly easy, but that one misaligned hole caused the job to take almost two hours. 493895

Needed a hitch fast for my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. I knew where to go. You had the hitch instock at a great price. Was delivered fast. Received it last night and installed it last night without a problem. I have bought and installed many hitches from your company without any problems. You guys are the greatest. Sorry for the ugly rusty ball in the pictures, it has been used for many years on several cars with your hitches. 594759

I ordered this Curt hitch for my 2016 Kia Sorento, the wiring kit that plugged directly into the factory pre-wired loom for towing, and the additional hardware to properly mount the 4-prong wiring connectors. Everything arrived very quickly and the installation went perfectly. After lowering the spare tire, removing the plastic cover behind the left rear wheel to access the wiring loom connections, and lowering the exhaust, the hitch bolted directly onto the frame with no issues. After torquing the bolts and completing the wiring, I re-installed the cover protecting the wiring, re-installed the 3 exhaust hangers, and re-installed the spare tire. I found that reversing my SUV onto a pair of ramps to raise the rear end provided sufficient space to install the hitch myself in my garage. 198437

This is the same hitch that the factory installs. My only issue is that it sits pretty low, that that doesn't have anything to do with the hitch. It is very easy to install and extremely solid. I do use Airlift 1000 airbags to adjust for sag and improve the ride while towing a trailer with 300+ lbs of tongue weight. 466442

I took me over two hours to install and my wife even helped hold up the hitch while I got a couple of bolts started. Looks like a quality product. The task is probably not for the weekend warrior but I was not going to let it beat me down. 565535

The first hitch I order was really scraped up down to the bare metal in places. I was very unhappy as what is the point of having a good finish when its scratched off in places. I plan on keeping my Sorrento for a long time and want the hitch to last. I was told they come this way sometimes and that it was scratched up during shipment and preparing a package from the pallet it shipped on. This did not seem logical to me because I cannot imagine customers would tolerate product in this kind of condition. after providing customer service with some pictures of the damaged product ustomer service apologize assured me they would send me out a new 1 right away which I quickly received. The new one with nearly flawless however the box still had two spots that failed slightly scratching the hitch just like my first one. A little more care in preparing the hitches for shipment would easily solve this problem. The box just needs to be reinforced in two locations. The hitch itself looks to be of excellent quality and I believe I will be very happy with it. Etrailer should have never shipped the first hitch in such poor condition but they did make it right and sent me a new one. All of this could have been avoided if they would have paid closer attention prior to shipping me a hitch and they would have miney not having to ship a second hitch out and ship the old one back. 238467

This product is exactly as advertised. I am not a mechanic, nor am I really that handy with tools. I was able to do this install in about an hour and a half by myself. If I had a set of hands to hold this in place while I worked on the other side of the car it would have taken me about half as long. As it was I as under the car(in my driveway with no lift) holding one side up with my hip and trying to align the carriage bolts on the other side. I only mention all of this to make the point that, this is a relatively easy install process that can be accomplished with relative ease. This is the second receiver I order from etrailer.com, and the second one that I am very satisfied with. I had the other hitch for 3 years with zero complaints, this one I have only had for about a week, but we had its maiden voyage this weekend and it worked great! etrailer.com is easy to deal with, easy to navigate the website, and the instructions were spot on. I would recommend this site 10/10 times! 281414

Application is a 2018 Kia Sorento. Well, you certainly could argue that this is now the heaviest piece of metal on this car. Very substantial, heavy metal attractive hitch nicely powder coated. Arrived with no visible damage and installation generally went without a hitch. (Sorry). Generally. Turns out, whether due to manufacturing tolerances on the hitch or in South Korea, the hitch was NOT an exact fit. Bolt holes did not align perfectly and despite slots, they were out of reach of the threads on the bottom pre-threaded holes. Solution was to insert and tighten sideways mounting carriage bolts to stretch the hitch an ocean rabbit or two in order to get the bottom bolts into their threads properly. then it was an ordeal of back and forth tightening and loosening to slowly coax the hitch into position for bolting, and then into best position for strength. Even after all that, the metal plate that bolts to the frame rails never did align well with an (eventually) modest gap between the passenger frame rail and the hitch's side plate for that rail. See photo (doesn't show it the best but there's a gap). I cranked those carriage bolts as tight as i could without either them giving up or me bending the framerail on the truck. So, now on the passenger side i have two carriage bolts and two vertical bolts carrying the hitch basically in shear, without the full benefit and strength of the clamping effect of that side plate. It will probably be OK for my uses but i'll need to be extra vigilant retightening for a while and it is definitely compromised strength in my non-professional opinion. Other than that, installation instructions and everything were as represented. I probably would have gone with 3 stars but the hitch may be a little over-built so i should be OK. Still, a real bear to install properly. 569053

Excellent product (5 stars overall, but see below) Excellent shipping speed & product protection (5 stars) Excellent customer service (5 stars) Fantastic, thorough how-to videos for installation (5 stars) Difficult installation (2 stars) Overall, I am very pleased with this Curt trailer hitch. It is made well, sturdy, looks great and should easily pull the trailers I have. The one complaint I have about it has to do with the installation. There are two carriage bolts that install through the hitch and through two existing holes in the passenger side frame rail of the vehicle and it was extremely difficult to push those bolts through the holes. The rectangular holes in the hitch did not line up well with the holes in the frame rail. It took me three hours of banging, clanging, messing with the position of the hitch and overall general suffering to get those babies into place. The rectangular holes in the hitch should be just a bit larger to allow the carriage bolts easy access to the holes in the Sorento's frame rail. With that said, I installed this hitch by myself and without the aid of ramps or lifts, and that could very well have made the installation more difficult than it should have been. Two people would probably have made this install significantly easier. However, installation of a hitch should be a one-man job, and those carriage bolts should slide right in without having to bust out the hammer. It is very tight quarters in there and that makes it a very difficult proposition. Bottom line, this hitch is solid, but Curt should take steps to ensure the installation is easier by enlarging the rectangular holes on the hitch just enough to align better with the holes in the frame rail. 428497

This hitch is built very solid. Bolted up to my vehicle exactly as described in the instructons. All hardware included was top notch. I bought a hitch because I do not have a truck to haul anything of size, so the new 5x8 trailer is going to work perfectly for my needs. The trailer hitch tucks up under the rear bumper nicely. Even the wife commented on how nice it looked. Bonus having the wife on board. I installed the hitch myself. No jack stands or ramps to drive up on was necessary in my case. I had plenty of room to work using the stock vehicle hight. Extremely happy with the purchase. Need a few more things from etrailor.com, like a new vehicle wiring harness, and a couple small things that I see they offer. Definitely will recommend etrailor on the Forums I frequent. Thanks etrailor!! 257193

This hitch went on without a hitch! I would HIGHLY recommend watching the video on this site a few times to get all the hints and tricks. They truly made all the difference. Make sure you take the time, as the instructions state, to chase the holes in the frame with some lubricant. It will make a difference with bolts going in when you are trying to put them in on your back! The hitch is power coated beautifully and should last a very long time. 656104

Hi, I installed the hitch today and it went perfect. I was amazed at how well it lined up with existing holes. The quality seems high. I haven't hooked up the wiring yet, but it appears that it will fit right into the "capped off" pigtails provided with the vehicle. It took me about 40 minutes to install. 655955

This hitch is meant for a Kia Sorento, not a travel trailer.

I ordered a trailer hitch made specifically for my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe as well as a Thule bike rack. I dealt with Brandon at etrailer.com.. He was very professional and accomodating. The bike rack had to be back ordered and everyone I had contact with in pinning down a delivery date were thorough and followed up on everything they said they would. It was a pleasure dealing with etrail.com!!! I wouldn't hesitate in using them again. I recommend them highly! 646490

I had no issued with this trailer hitch. It was relatively easy to install on a 2016 Kia Sorento with the included instructions, hardware and pictures. I've actually only used it for a bike rack so no heavy towing. So far it's working just fine. 643995

I purchased this hitch for my parents to use with their 2018 Kia Sorento. Because of the way it installs between the muffler and the under carriage they decided to get it professionally installed by their local mechanic. They do not pull anything with it but they use it for a 2 bike rack and a hitch cargo rack that they load up and it has performed excellent for them. I have purchased several hitches from eTrailer and will continue to do so in the future. Their customer service is what sets them apart. 636886

Great hitch. Was reasonably easy to install. Used it for bike rack. Worked great. Very stout for the application 634552

Relatively easy install. The area around the exhaust is precarious at times. Make sure you have all the tools on hand and you can get an exhaust hangar tool online for around $20 and makes dropping the exhaust very easy. After buying ramps, torque wrench, wiring, etc it was still a savings of nearly $200 over anyone else putting a hitch on the car...but now I can't blame anyone if it comes flying off. 619877

I just bought a new car and the hitch I bought 3 years ago does not fit the car I have now. Same car but a 2015 and I know have 2019. So I ordered new one which is being installed tomorrow. This Hitch has come in handy. I have bike rack and bumper trailer as accessories to this hitch. Just love it 616382

Good solid hitch. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the installation is more difficult than it suppose to be. On passenger side, there is little pin is blocking hitch to sit properly. I had to bend the pin to match the bolt hole. Otherwise the hitch looks great and well built. 615935

Super fast shipping, clear how to instructions, exact fit for my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. Couldn't be happier!!!! My only advice is try to have another person help.... I did install it by myself with the help of a floor jack to hold up one end while I got the other put in place...... an extra set of hands would have been soooooooo much easier. 614477

Excellent company in every way. We not only got the product quickly, they honored the price match guarantee and followed up with us after the hitch arrived. We contacted a local mechanic who installed it in one hour. We found etrailers through the manufacturer of our bike rack, Kuat. Really really top notch! 614068

Ask the Experts about this Curt Trailer Hitch
Do you have a question about this Trailer Hitch?

  • Best Trailer Hitch, Wiring Harness and Ball Mount for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is the Curt # C13195 because of Curt's strong reputation for manufacturing very high-quality hitches that are also made in the USA. This Class III, 2" trailer hitch is a complete bolt-on installation so it will not require any drilling into the frame of your '19 Santa Fe. This hitch has a black powder coat finish which helps protect it from corrosion and also has a 5,000 lb towing capacity and 750 lb tongue weight capacity....

  • Why Does Curt Require Stabilizer Strap When Carrying Bike Rack and Not Draw Tite
  • I have spoke with my contact at Curt numerous times regarding the requirement of the stabilizing/support strap, # 18050. Curt requires this strap in order to alleviate the leveraging affect that a non-trailer load places on a hitch like part # C13195. At Curt they like to use the example of carrying a gallon of milk. Think of the strain that would be put on your arm if it is extended opposed to if you carry the milk close to your body. This is what also happens with a hitch when a bike...

  • Correct Wiring Kit for a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with the Trailer Tow Prep Package
  • If your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has the tow package then you want to use the Tekonsha T-One # 118784 which has the 4-Way Flat connector that you asked about and plugs into the factory connector which is located under the vehicle, behind the rear bumper, on the driver’s side. You said that you already have the trailer hitch for towing but you didn't mention a ball mount kit. If your trailer hitch has a 2" receiver like the Curt # C13195 which fits a 2019 Santa Fe then I recommend the Curt...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring For a 2018 Kia Sorento
  • I did some checking and I have found a trailer hitch that will fit your 2018 Kia Sorento. It is Curt trailer hitch # C13195. It will install the same way as on the 2017 model in the video I have linked for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage...

  • Which Hitch is Better for Carrying Bike Rack on 2017 Kia Sorento, Curt or Draw Tite
  • I have an "outside the box" solution for you that I think would be your best option. If you went with the Draw Tite hitch part # 75908 for your 2017 Kia Sorento instead of the Curt you would have the entire stabilizer strap situation avoided as Draw Tite does not require the use of this strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. This is the hitch I recommend the most for owners of your vehicle for this reason so because of that it would be your best option.

  • Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller for 2018 Kia Sorento 3.3L V6 AWD
  • Certainly a vehicle with a 3.3L V6 engine is typically a better choice for towing than one with an engine having half that displacement. Still, the 1.5L Ford does carry a 2000-lb maximum trailer weight rating, enough for a small pop-up or teardrop. But the 5000-lb-towing rated Kia is definitely the better option, not just for its power but also since it is heavier and is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that should provide a more stable towing experience. For the Kia we have 2-inch Class III...

  • Which Trailer Hitch Fits 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL
  • For your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL the Curt trailer hitch part # C13153 is a confirmed fit and will work well for you. It is a 2 inch hitch with plenty of capacity at 6,000 lb total trailer weight. The non-XL versions of the Santa Fe in 2019 require the part # C13195 instead.

  • Comparing Curt # 13195 and Draw-Tite # 75908 for 2017 Kia Sorento
  • The Draw-Tite # 75908 is more hidden with the recessed aspect of the hitch pin hole being 5-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper. The height is 15-1/2 inches from the inside top of the receiver to the ground. The Curt # C13195 is very similar in style and has a hitch pin hole that is 4-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper so it is 1 inch closer to the outside of the bumper. The hitch does sit closer to the ground with the top inside of the receiver 13-1/2...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe SE
  • I was able to confirm with Curt that the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # C13195 that you referenced is indeed a fit for your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe SE. At this time (August 2018) the hitch is only confirmed to work with the SE model, most likely because the hitch has simply not been tested yet with the other trim options. I have attached the installation instructions that you can use for reference. As of now there are only universal wiring harnesses available for your 2019 Santa Fe. The...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • Yes, the Curt hitch part # C13195 has been confirmed as a fit for your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and would a great fit with plenty of capacity. It has a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs and a total trailer capacity of 5,000 lb. For trailer wiring we then have the # 119147KIT for a hardwire kit or the # 119250KIT for a no-splice option. • Is Drilling Required to Install Trailer Hitch on 2017 Dodge Durango
  • Nope, you sure won't. There is absolutely no drilling required to install a trailer hitch on your 2017 Dodge Durango, it is a complete bolt-on installation. I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75713 because it will fit even if you have a full-sized spare tire under your vehicle, unlike the option from Curt. For wiring which will give you a 4-way connector and allow you to power your trailer's lights you need Wiring Harness # C56336 if your Durango does NOT have the factory towing package....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2016 Kia Sorento
  • For your 2016 Kia Sorento, I recommend the Curt Class III hitch # C13195, over the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75908. I recommend the Curt hitch receiver because the tongue weight is so much stronger at 750 pounds versus the 500 lb rating of the Draw-Tite. The reason I think people may lean toward the Draw-Tite for your vehicle is the installation is slightly easier saving between 10 and 20 minutes. Some people also don't like that Curt recommends that you use a stabilization strap, # 18050,...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2016 Kia Sorento
  • Any trusted mechanic or an RV dealer with a service center can install a trailer hitch for your 2016 Kia Sorento. If you want to use the hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier I actually recommend Draw-Tite hitch # 75908. The Curt hitch # C13195 requires the use of a stabilization strap # 18050 for any non-trailer accessory whereas the Draw-Tite hitch does not. If you plan on towing then either hitch will work fine.
