2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Wow, just WOW! I've never seen or experienced such great customer service while ordering ANYTHING! Your website made selecting, ordering, and paying for my hitch a breeze. I figured someone would get my order and fulfill it Monday as I ordered it on Sunday. Never thought you guys would get it going so fast and on a Sunday to boot. Thank you.
I've attached some pic's of the order status/tracking with timing to show how awesome my experience was.
I watched your installation video's and was able to complete the install in about 15 minutes. As I have a single exhaust Jeep, I took a picture of the clearance. Pictures also show a before and after. Looks factory. I will be using it mostly for a Thule bike rack and this Curt hitch is spot on.
And the price of the product PLUS free shipping (arrived when stated) was fantastic.
Thanks again to all of you. Please pass on our gratitude for a job WELL DONE!1411363
This hitch was a life saver. I ride and travel with my bicycles a lot - locally and nationally. Putting a bike and ride inside the MINI is doable but not ideal. This hitch is stealth, doesn't protrude bast my exhaust tips and works perfectly. Installation was a bit expensive but well worth it.1308123
Ordered this for my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Installation was simple. Per the instructional video I removed the 4 bolts from the rear frame area of the Jeep, laid out some cardboard to protect the coating on the hitch and my back from the concrete. Lifted into place and secured the bolts. I did this myself, though a second set of hands would have been nice for the initial bolt placement. I towed a small trailer with Kayaks twice last week and all is good! Though it's not integrated into the bumper like the factory hitch, it still looks good and is a lot less expensive. Don't forget the trailer wiring like I did.830781
This was the easiest trailer hitch install! Built strong and all around a great experience. I’m using it to pull a 17 ft travel trailer. Will definitely be ordering from etrailer for any of my future towing needs. 785757
After first year, and multiple trips towing our travel trailer to the eastern shore and to the mtns of NC, the hitch receiver has exceeded my expectations. This was the first curt receiver I’ve ever purchased, so in the beginning, I had my concerns being a new product to me. 1 year later, I will purchase Curt products from etrailer from now on. If my recommendation helps anyone with concerns, these receivers are extremely well built and strong. My opinion, best on the market for your hard earned money! And did I mention the install? So simple, had it installed, and torqued to correct spec in half an hour. Literally anyone can do it. Get your hands a little dirty and save some money $$$!

Went to the dealership and they wanted $800 to activate the tow lights and another $400 for the trailer hitch receiver installed, for a grand total of $1,200! Purchased the Curt Trailer Hitch receiver for less than $120. Took half an hour to install the receiver and another half hour for the wiring harness. Saved almost $1,000 off the dealership price! A friend recommended etrailer and I am so glad he did!953242
This is a fine hitch at a reasonable price. It is pretty heavy duty. I installed mine on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mind that it is pretty heavy to be working with upside down so I used a jack to help support the hitch while I installed the bolts. The main problem with the jeep was to remove the bolts on the existing rear tow hook. These were difficult to remove and required a lot of leverage and a long pipe (my air socket wrench just didn't have enough torque). I use a 4-bike rack that is very stable fully loaded. I highly recommend this rack and etrailer. This is my second hitch purchase from them.1034264

The Hitch is just a good and strong as when I installed it. Pretty heavy duty. easy to recommend!

Ford Transit Connect
Very disappointed in your products with your company. The first hitch i ordered was damaged so bad out of the box so bad i had to return it and am STILL waiting for my refund! The second one came and seemed acceptable. I installed it and two days later its chipped and rusting in a visible area of the hitch. I was told on the phone "The hitch arrive to us from the factory stacked on top of on another so there going to be scratched and paint chipped". That response in not an excuse to me. That to me is a gap in QC (quality control). If majority of product are being damaged in transit from the factory. Demand that the producer get a better protected, quality product delivered to your company and in turn to the customer. 427799
Very good price, arrived on time, and seems to be very sturdy. Installation was fairly easily. The R/T model has a plastic heat shield between the exhaust and spare tire that has to be removed to get the hitch in place. To reinstall the shield notches have to be cut out on ends where it meets the hitch mounts to get it back in place. It's held in place by six 10mm nuts and come out and back in easily enough once the notches are cut. With the hitch in place it is a very tight fit getting the spare back in place - I had to guide it and nudge it some while my son worked the winch until it cleared the hitch. 403186
After a year it is working great. The paint is holding up well and still looks brand new.

2018 Volkswagen Rabbit
Hitch receiver was easy to order and arrived several days BEFORE it was promised. Installation was straightforward, exactly as described. Then etrailer.com followed up to make sure I was happy. This is the way online business SHOULD be done. You've got one happy rabbit here! :)1391951

Followed the instructions and removed the four bolts, little difficult doing it by yourself, an extra hand would help holding it in place but I managed. Got it installed, and I must say I'm happy with it so far, I like how it's tucked up out of the way, and it looks factory installed like others I've seen. Have not used it yet but hopefully it's gonna get a workout come Hunting season as I will have a cargo carrier mounted to it.1172536
I needed a trailer hitch for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Curt trailer hitch receiver is a quality product and looks great. It’s a really good fit underneath the rear bumper. The installation literally took me less than 20 minutes.
I highly recommend this trailer hitch reveiver for easy installation and a good fit. 463921
The Curt trailer hitch receiver was an outstanding purchase and a great fit for my Grand Cherokee.

2012 Dodge Durango
I did not remove the spare tire to install the hitch on my 2012 Durango although that made it difficult to get the wrench in position. The original bolts were painted and really tough to remove. I called a local mechanic and asked for advice. He suggested cutting a piece of pipe and inserting my wrench handle in that to extend the effective length of the wrench. The additional torque which that idea provided was enough to smoothly loosen the bolts. No hammering, torch, or paint thinner were needed. The hitch was easy to install after that.148736
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This hitch just bolted in. It really helps to have a second set of hand only to help hold the hitch in place. Install is 10 minutes after you find your torque wrench. Great instructions.
At this time, there are no aftermarket trailer wiring solutions available for the 2014 Grand Cherokee. Your best source would be heading back to the dealership. I'm not sure if they have something in development or if it's not going to be possible to do an aftermarket harness on the 2014. The Grand Cherokee electrical system has become increasingly complex in the last few years and has brought some challenges with trailer wiring systems.
If you don't have a 2014, let me know what year you do have, and I can help you find a solution.
-- Patrick B - 7/1/2013
The hitch has been installed for a year and looks great and works great. The jeep had a factory wiring harness connector but not the factory plug. I purchased the plug and mounted it. The Dealer had to activate the plug and they did that at no charge. I bought the plug from the dealer.

What sub model Jeep Cherokee do you have? I have a Summit and I am hesitant about ordering this hitch.
I have confirmed with my contact at Curt and this hitch fits all of the: 2012-2014 Jeep Cherokees models excluding the SRT-8 Models, all the 2014 Jeep Cherokee models including the SRT-8 Models, except the 2014 SRT-8 Diesel Models.
Did you have to get the deal to program the computer so the trailer lights would work?

Very well made hitch. I was also pleased with the delivery process and customer service provided. I use it primarily for our mountain bike rack and it works great. I haven’t added the wiring harness package as yet as I have a Suburban with that ability that I use when pulling our hauling trailer.1027094
Now that was a wierd setup. After installing the wiring kit, it wouldn't give me trailer lights. Took some research and frustration, and finally had to go to the Jeep dealership, to have them enable trailer tow wiring in my vehicles computer. Since then, nothing but success.1311428

This hitch was super easy to install. I love the look too.1338201
This hitch installed like a dream. Literally took 15 minutes. I did it myself. The video was super helpful and the instructions were straight forward. I love that this hitch doesn't stick out beyond the bumper. I'm very pleased with this product!! 134102
CHECK YOUR EXISTING BOLTS, DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE. The installation for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee should have been an extremely easy install, BUT apparently one of my bolts was corroded and busted while trying to torque to spec. Extracting the bolt was a huge pain in the butt, so what should have taken 15min took me about 3-4 hours. Overall, the hitch is solid and well made. Mine came with a few scratches out of the box, so I spray it over with some Rustoleum enamel spray paint.1215038

Oh no, sorry to hear that. We do have a video explaining the easiest way to remove a broken weld nut. I have attached it:
Successfully installed on 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Installed by myself in about 20 min total, the included instructions are sufficient. An extra set of hands would be helpful, but the M14 bolts are long enough that I could hold up the hitch myself and get them started...a little awkward but doable. Installation summary: remove all four M14 bolts with 21mm socket, hold up the hitch to the holes to see if any caulk is in the way (I had to trim caulk near rear bolts on both sides to get hitch to line up properly), raise the hitch to align holes and insert/hand tighten the bolts, tighten with ratchet evenly all around to make sure everything lined up properly, tighten to proper torque.... and you’re done. There is a little more space between hitch and bumper than I anticipated (half inch or so), but now that I look more closely at all the other pictures on the website, mine looks same as all the others. Otherwise, price seemed good for the hitch, fast shipping, feels like solid quality, a couple of dings/scratches on the hitch out of the box, but overall it looked good and nothing I’m really worried about. Haven’t used the hitch yet. I don’t anticipate any issues, but will report back if anything else to add in future.936019
Outstanding!!! First, Jeep wanted close to $700.00 to install their factory hitch. etrailer hitch cost me way less, no charge for shipping. It took me 5 minutes to unscrew the 4 bolts on the 2015 Jeep GC. I employed a friend to help me installed the hitch. It took us 5 minutes. It helps to have someone hold up one side of the hitch while attaching to frame. I highly recommend this product. It looks factory installed. Fits perfect under the bumper. Thank you382528
Please listen; 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel owners, products fit you vehicle correct! when received it ; UPS had damaged the item and was a little bent was able to install it though , the limited models with spare tire under is a little tight although you can wrench with 13/16" shorties will also work. this is on the passenger side the wiring harness is very tight to hook up. In the end very satisfied with this product793832
This was perfect for my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X! The install took me about 10 minutes (or less). The whole thing was painless and easy. Just take out 4 bolts, hold the trailer hitch in place and put the bolts back in. The hitch sits nice and tight to my bumper and is barely noticeable. Very happy with everything. As others have said the only thing you will need (for a jeep grand cherokee) is a 21mm socket wrench and an extra pair of hands to help hold it in place while you put the bolts back in. 778358
When using Curt trailer hitch # C13182 on your 2014 Dodge Durango you will not have to use a stabilization strap for a cargo carrier. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link showing installation of this hitch for you.
The hitch is rated for 500 pounds tongue weight for use with a cargo carrier. The weight of the carrier you use will count towards the tongue weight total. Please check the vehicle owners manual for the vehicle tongue weight capacity. Which ever... view full answer...
My contact at Curt Manufacturing advised that on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel it should not be necessary to remove the diesel exhaust fluid tank for hitch installation. He did also offer that while there is indeed a very tight space left for placement of the hitch mounting flange between the frame rail and the diesel exhaust fluid tank, in their test fits they were able to install the hitch on the diesel without removing the tank. Still, in your application this additional step may... view full answer...

I spoke with my contact at Curt and he recommends that you just loosen the bolts on the diesel exhaust fluid tank when installing the Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13182, on your 2014 Grand Cherokee Diesel. This should give you enough room to be able to get a wrench in there. view full answer...

I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2015 Dodge Durango. It stated that your AWD Durango with the 5.7L engine can tow a trailer that weighs up to 7,200 pounds. I highly recommend verifying this in your copy of the manual or by visiting a local Dodge dealer with your VIN.
I am not sure what exactly the factory tow package for your Durango consists of, so you if you still need a trailer hitch I recommend the Curt Class III Round Tube # C13182. This Class III hitch is confirmed... view full answer...

The 6,200 lbs weight is the max the 2015 Grand Cherokee will be able to tow safely.
However, although your Jeep has a max... view full answer...
Yes, Curt front mount receiver # C13182 will also fit your new 2017 Dodge Durango! The hardware to mount the hitch is already on the vehicle so no new hardware is needed. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13182 for your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee does indeed feature a 600 pound tongue weight capacity. You are right to also verify the tongue weight capacity of your Jeep because you will always be limited by your weakest component.
If the Jeep has a lower tongue weight rating than 600 pounds then you will need to follow the lower number. If the Jeep actually has a higher tongue weight capacity you will still be limited by the 600 pound rating on the hitch.... view full answer...
If you want to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13182 on your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will use M14 bolts that are grade 5 as well as compatible flat washers. That is the replacement for what is missing from your vehicle. If you want stronger bolts you can use grade 8 as some like to do but almost all hitch hardware is grade 5. The factory bolts use a 21mm socket. The length of the bolt is not mentioned so you will need to use your best judgment.... view full answer...
The sticker on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13182 is removable, but I strongly recommend against doing so. The sticker contains important information like the Tongue Weight (TW) and Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) ratings. For your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4WD v6 3.6L you'd just need to stay under the towing capacity of the vehicle which according to my research is 6,200 lbs.
The Curt hitch part # C13182 is the highest rating trailer hitch we offer for your vehicle and it has an overall towing capacity of 6,000 lbs which would be the limit for the trailer weight you could tow with it regardless of if your vehicle has a higher capacity as you are only as strong as the weakest component in your towing... view full answer...
