The hitch it's easy to install, very well built, and if you follow up instructions it won't take longer than 45min to 1hr. Really recommend this style hitch for Mazda 3

Comments
Hitch is a heavy duty build, perfect for bike, platform or small teargear trailer. Very happy with my hitch.

Shipping was prompt. Despite very little apparent damage to the box, the hitch had a few deep scratches and chips. I repaired these with black touch-up paint, but it shouldn't arrive like this. It would be nice if the mounting hardware (bolts and flat brackets) were stainless steel. Installation certainly requires the removal of the four rubber exhaust hangers. Use a jack stand under the main pipe to lower the muffler about two inches. The installation will be very difficult if attempted alone because the hitch has to be carefully moved into position and then the bolts to which guide wires are affixed have to be threaded through the holes on the brackets of the hitch. The fit is good on a 2017 Mazda3 hatchback. Equal clearance all around and no interference with the exhaust pipes or bumper. Appearance wise, I think the Curt looks better than the Drawtite which a friend of mine has on his Mazda3.

My search for a hitch led me right to etrailer, and the selection and ordering process was a breeze. Shipping was very prompt and the installation process was relatively straightforward. The online video was helpful, but I own the hatchback model so there are a few differences I had to figure out. Some basic bicycle lubricant helped to free the muffler mounts so I could access the mounting points. The only thing I was not able to do on my own was touque the bolts due to the tight clearance of laying under my car, which was expected. The hitch preformed well with the bike carrier I own and I hardly notice the hitch with out the rack on board. Definitely a quality product at a great price and I would certainly recommend etrailer.

Instructions were good, install was easy, required no drilling or cutting for my application; 2104 Mazda 3 hatchback. Removing the exhaust hangers was easy using a spray solution of water and dish soap, I used a cambuckle type of tie down hooked to the suspension to raise and lower the exhaust as needed. I unclipped a wire on the driver side frame to give a little extra space to position the hitch. It helps to have a helper to position the hitch and hold it up while bolting it. This is my second hitch from Etrailer and like the first one it arrived in good condition.

I was just recently able to attempt installing my new equipment, but unfortunately it does not fit my vehicle. I have a 2014 Mazda3 Hatchback, which this item is listed as fitting, but as you can see in the pictures the bolt holes are much farther apart on the equipment than on the vehicle. It appears to have the correct product number which I ordered except that this item us not designed with a C as listed online. Please advise on how to rectify the issue.

There is another hole in the frame member on the other side of the exhaust mount shown in your photo. The hole could be covered with a plastic plug, tape or undercoating, you might need to take a putty knife to the underside of the frame member to scrape away any undercoat or grime that might be covering the mounting hole.

The hitch fit my 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback and the instructional installation video was awesome. Definitely spend $20 and get a set of exhaust hanger removal pliers - it will make the job so much easier (a little silicone spray helps too). This is my second hitch purchase from etrailer - they are the go to source for good products and top notch customer service.

I bought this for my 2014 Mazda 3 Hatchback Touring. It took me an hour or so to install, the only thing required for me was to lower the muffler to make room to fit in, but it did not require removing the bumper or cutting anything. Now I have a hitch on my car which will be great in the future.

The C11377 did not align properly with the frame holes on my 2015 Mazda3 iSport 4dr sedan and had to use the back feeder hole. Also had to trim some of the bottom spolier but not visible from the back. Also was one who pushed a screw back into the frame. Wish they would account for that and include 5 screws.

This was a perfect fit for my 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback. At first it looked like I could get it in by jacking up the rear. Alas, not the case. However, raising the rear DOES make it easier to work on. If you can sneak a little screwdriver into the rubber muffler mount, and spray in some silicone or other lube, it makes the job of removing the mounts much easier. You only need to remove the BOTTOM part of the mount, by the way. The welds and powder coat finish look great...pleased with the product and looking forward to many miles pulling a small trailer with light boats or a motorcycle. Follow through with etrailer was very professional after they could not find the used hitch that I first ordered. Helpful and friendly....

Not too difficult to install, instructions were clear and had helpful pictures. No Drilling or cutting, just dropped the exhaust (only held on by rubber grommets) and it bolted right in. I only used it for a tow hitch mounted bike rack and it was more can enough to hold 4 bikes. It seems like it would be very capable of hauling small trailers from uhaul or the trailers that hold canoe's or kayaks. Your major limitation is going to be the 1.25" opening, and your Mazda's engine power. The tow hitch is rock solid and I would recommend this to anyone looking to make their 2104+ Mazda3 more utilitarian.

I put one on my Mazda 3 hatchback and it was as simple as could be. No drilling or anything like that. Fish the bolts thru the frame and tighten it down, then plug in the wires and hide them by the spare tire. The nice thing about this setup is that the plug is always inside and out of the elements when not in use. Even someone with very limited mechanical skills should be able to install a hitch like the one I have. Videos helped too.

I am so happy with my experience with etrailer.com. I ordered the Curt trailer hitch and a Swagman bike rack for my Mazda 3. Michelle S. was so helpful when the bike rack wasn't immediately available. She made a recommendation for a comparable bookrack- the Hollywood model. I am thrilled with my purchase. The items arrived when promised. The instructions for installing the trailer hitch and assembling the bike rack were very clear. The bike rack is easy to use and very secure. I love that the hooks around the bike frame lock with the key, and that the whole rack locks securely to the car. The bikes hardly moved during our drive out of state and did not touch at all. My family and I had a wonderful vacation this past weekend and were so glad to have great gear to transport our bikes.

Installation was very well documented on the etrailer site. Consequently, I was able to install the unit in about an hour with little issue. The Curt hitch feels very sturdy and well built. The black coating is uniform without obvious blemishes and the bracket welds are well-finished. A quality item at an excellent price. Being made in USA is a definite plus and was a big part of my purchasing decision.

2016 Mazda 3

Installation was easy on my 2016 Mazda 3/5 door hatchback. Using just a quick squirt of silicone lube on the 4 muffler hanger made them slip off with ease. The 2 front mounting holes were not obvious and I first though that the hitch wouldn't fit, but looking a little closer the front holes were there under the muffler hanger rod and a little hard to see. They were also covered by tape that was mentioned in the instructions. I found it helpful to temporarily support the hitch with plastic tie wraps from the muffler hangers with the hitch lifted in place until I could get the nuts on. U-Haul wanted $250 for there hitch installed.

Good hitch. Held up well so far (about a year of light use, mostly transporting two bicycles on a highway). It was a pain to install alone, but it is possible for 2014 Mazda 3. Installation took me about 2 hours and i used jackstands to prop up one of the sides of the hitch as i was installing it. For the Mazda installation, make sure you get the exhaust bracket removal tool (<20$ at a local hardware store), otherwise those rubber holders seem impossible to remove. Guiding the bolts using the provided hardware was surprising easy one i was at that stage.

This is my second receiver from etrailer. There was no installation video specific to my car (2015 Mazda 3) so I had to figure out how to get the hitch into place. Once I dropped down the muffler, easy peasy. Fits and looks great. Went on my first trip with our cargo box attached with no problems. Makes packing for camping so much easier and allows my kiddo to take a friend. Cheaper than other wegsites. Was able to get the receiver and wiring kit for the price of only the receiver on AMZ. Thanks!

We finally had a chance to unbox the trailer hitch last weekend and were disappointed to find quite a few gouges in the powder coating including two that showed bare metal underneath. One of the reasons we like the Curt hitches is that they are powder coated and I shouldn't have to worry about seeing rust on it in 10 years (yes we keep our cars for at least 10 years). The box and packaging was great so this happened prior to boxing. I've purchased my trailer hitches exclusively through etrailer to avoid these types of problems, but in the future will most likely look for another vendor.

The hitch I recommend for your 2018 Mazda 3 for carrying a bike rack is the Draw Tite part # 24914 because unlike the Curt hitch that fits your vehicle part # C11377 it does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack like you mentioned wanting to do. For a bike rack the Thule DoubleTrack part # TH9054 is what I recommend. This is a platform rack which means it much easier to load and unload as well as holding the bikes a bit more securely. What separates this...

  • What Hitch Fits a 2016 Mazda 3 Hatch i-Touring
When it comes to "Vehicle Style" in our fit guide, there are 4 options in the drop down menu for a 2016 Mazda 3 - "Hatchback - with LED Taillights", "Hatchback - without LED Taillights", "Sedan - with LED Taillights", and ""Sedan - without LED Taillights". • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2015 Mazda 3 Sedan
As you mentioned, both the Curt Class I # C11377 and the Draw-Tite Class I # 24912 Trailer Hitches are confirmed to fit your 2015 Mazda 3 Sedan Grand Touring. Both hitches will work with all models of the Mazda 3 Sedan, however the Draw-Tite # 24912, as you referenced, is going to be a considerably easier installation process and will take about half the time as the Curt Trailer Hitch. Also keep in mind that per Curt warranty guidelines, all non-trailer loads such as bike racks and...

  • How to Determine if Kuat NV Bike Rack will Fit on 2018 Mazda 3 with Draw-Tite # 24914 Trailer Hitch
When we installed the Curt # C11377 on a 2017 Mazda 3 we found that from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rearmost edge of the bumper was 3". In the comparison video that you referenced we say that the center of the pin hole of the Draw-Tite # 24914 sits 4" further back than the Curt. If the measurements are the same for your 2018 Mazda 3 then that would mean the center of the pin hole for the Draw-Tite would be 7" from the rearmost edge of your bumper. If by "NV Core" bike rack...
