This is an early review since I just got it installed. I bought this receiver as a replacement for the stock receiver that rusted out that came on my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. The price was too perfect to pass up. It looks extremely well built and I look forward to testing it out soon as this lockdown on travel is lifted. I'll try to come back and update my review once I run it for a while. At this point though I am very pleased with what I bought. Overall very happy. 778128

Product was in excellent condition. Very easy to install and was a perfect fit with no drilling required. Great price. Packaging could have been a little better as the box had several big holes and no packaging inside the box but this was a non-issue for me since the product was not damaged. 604074

Product is still great. Very pleased with this purchase even after a year of being installed and used a lot, from hauling farm trailers to cattle trailers. Have had zero issues with this product.

Best. Receiver. Ever! The Curt Class 4 receiver arrived at my door step a few days after ordering. I shopped around quite a bit and etrailers beat all of the other competitors in price by a fair amount. It’s built for heavy duty use, compared to the OEM receiver. They should put these on all trucks that come off the assembly line. The original receiver had two decent size cracks. It took a little longer for installation on my 2009 Chevy 1500. I recommend blasting the nuts and bolts with some sort of penetrating oil a day before installation. Took me 2 hours to unbolt the factory hitch. If you’re installing by yourself, I recommend using a couple cam straps to help hold the receiver near the frame in order to get a bolt in. Other than that installation went fast and smooth! I have been recommending etrailers and Curt receivers to all my friends! 746510

Great product and an easy install. Less than an hour from start to finish. Everything fit great and it looks better and factory. If you have a newerSilverado and live in a state that salts it's roads check your receiver since the factory one will hold water. 544124

This hitch is nearly 3x thicker than what came OEM on my '07 Silverado 1500. Years of towing on the unforgiving roads of the Northeastern USA had beaten that OEM hitch into submission, peening the receiver pin hole oval. Rust was also eating away at it at the same time. There is much less clearance in the receiver box than there was on the OEM - this is a GOOD thing. That sloppy OEM beat itself to death from day 1. The only gripe I have is the packaging - I would have preferred the corrosion resistance of an unblemished factory paint job, but this one got beat a little. Other than that, very pleased with it. 198096

2012 Chevrolet Silverado

I received the Curt class IV -2" hitch ordered to fit my 2012 Chevy Silverado. It was an excellent match as most of the hitch cross bar is up behind the rear bumper as I wanted. I installed the hitch myself with no help, easy as I put first bolt through hitch and start threads into vehicle frame weld nut leaving it loose and then do the other side. Once hitch was hanging loose on the two bolts into vehicle frame nuts, just drop in the other four bolts with nuts and tighten all. There was a little man handling the 52 pounds of hitch, but it was just that easy. Press it up, bolt it in. Rated for 10,000 pounds, it is made very solid and has great looks as well. All needed hardware came complete, hitch, grade bolts, nuts and bolt locking plates 292568

Works perfectly... Ive been using my hitch to tow multiple different trailers I swap out my hitches often. Swapping out the hitch is easy and the receiver is still rock solid. No rust or pain chips. Thanks!

Although I did not take any pictures of my install I would like to say it was so easy and simple to understand that I had time to cook steaks for the family and my friend and his son [we needed a young one to do the lifting we thought].Install was done before the steaks but gave us time to have a cold one. thank you for making this a moment I can speak well of to all my friends. I will recommend you to all that need your products. 90077

Well its been a little over a year now and I have put my new Curt Hitch to work , be it pulling the family camper or the artic cat trailer through some not to friendly trails . I can say there were some times I had to wonder how I made it , but I did not have to worry about my hitch failing . I keep a check on the fasteners from time to time and give the hitch a good going over ,still as ridged as when I put it in. To tell the truth I trust it enough that I would pull any thing without a second thought , as long as the truck could handle it , I know the hitch can . Great job and product Guys I will be a return customer.

I haven't towed with it yet, but I just finished installing the hitch receiver I bought and it was easy. I'm not a professional, but I borrowed the sockets needed from my cousin. I did it myself in 40 minutes (much of that time was just taking my time to ensure I did it right). My order confirmation came with extremely helpful how-to videos that made for the easy installation. The hitch receiver looks very sturdy and should do the job. 360396

Received the hitch today and already installed it. I replaced a rusted out factory hitch. it was easy to install and seems to fit well. I used a mechanics seat to be my second set of hands. It comes with all new hardware. The only thing I noticed was this hitch has two less attaching points (under the bumper) that may be because it is a class IV unit. Overall, very happy with it, especially for the price. I was only looking for a unit for occasional light towing and this will more than fit the bill. 807470

2009 Chevrolet Silverado

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I like the Curt Class IV trailer hitch. It is well made and definitely heavy duty. This is not some cheap lightweight hitch. The black gloss powder coat really makes the hitch look nice and should protect it from the weather and road salt for years to come. The metal is heavy duty and fully welded. I did have a little trouble lining up the bolt holes when mounting it. I think this was more Chevrolet's fault for welding the permanent nut off the center of the hole more so than the hitch being off square . With a little persuasion from a crowbar, we were able to line up the bolts and get them installed. I also got the Curt T connector wiring harness. It installed right in with no issues. I also purchased the Pollak 7 pole replacement trailer socket. It installed with no real issues either. I do wish that the Pollak socket came with some self tapping screws or something to mount it to the bumper. I ended up drilling mounting holes and used large pop rivets to mount the socket. The hitch arrived in a heavy duty cardboard box, but even that was pretty tore up. Probably could have used foam wrap around the corners. Overall it looks like this will be a great purchase. 795673

2012 GMC Sierra

Product arrived when promised. Assembly was MUCH heavier than the OEM original I removed from my 2012 Sierra. Mounting was as described and straight forward. Using a pnumatic impact, job took 20 minutes start to finish. Only mounting difference was the old, light weight OEM had (2) mounting bolts out at the bumper area directly above the reciever. This unit didn't have them do to it heavier, square bar design. The OEM design was tubular and weighed less than half this unit. Thus, the need to have additional mounting points. 792778

  • Replacement Hitch for 2011 Chevrolet Silverado
The pin hole in a hitch can round out, and though it is not a common problem it is something that we have seen happen. In terms of the difference in hitches for your 2011 Chevy Silverado, the higher the class rating the more heavily constructed the hitch is. The Curt class V # C15323, for example, weighs 67 lbs while the class IV # 14301 weighs 53 lbs and the class III # 13322 weighs 31 lbs. That means the thickest material is going to be on the class V, but that may be overkill; I recommend...
