I use this mostly for a bike rack. My car can only tow 1500 pounds. I used it to tow a wood splitter.I was able to connect a flatbed trailer to this and pick up a bed with it and some other things as well. Seeing as I don't own a truck this was pretty convenient! Overall I am very pleased with the purchase.

Great hitch. Installs easily. Took me about 35 minutes. Be sure to use penetrating oil on the welded in nuts. One of my welded in nuts had some type of slag or welding material in it and I was not able to get it in there. Holes did not line up perfectly but if you have a step down bit that's easily fixed and about 2 minutes.

Installed this trailer hitch receiver the other day. The product itself is good. Seems very sturdy and will be more than fine for my small utility trailer. The bar and brackets are hidden which is nice too. Installation was difficult given the brackets holding my rear bumper prevented the bolt holes from lining up initially. Some significant pounding on the brackets was required. I then had to install the front screws first and use the tension created when tightening them to align the rear screws. It was definitely a process. I think fit could have been much better.

I'm somewhat disappointed in etailer. The hitch receiver came pre-scratched and in ruff shape. These have a tendency to rust. Luckily you don't really see anything other than the receiver itself, but I took it upon myself to spray it with some rustoleum before installing to help delay the inevitable anyway. One of the handle bolts arrived separated from the handle. I asked etrailer to replace both since everything came is such ruff shape. They only replaced the broken one, which was fine, though I would have been livid if the second had failed during installation.

In summary, the product is what it is. Fit was difficult but I made it work. It came in somewhat poor condition.

This was a good custom fit on our car (required a bit of banging around at install as the holes on the car frame and the hitch weren't perfectly aligned). It allowed us to safely carry 4 bikes on a hitch mount over a long distance. Great product at a great price.

2009 Acura RDX

This was the easiest trailer hitch install I ever did. Done in less than 30 minutes and fit my 2009 Acura RDX perfectly. What I like best is all that can be seen from the back of the vehicle is the receiver, none of the hitch itself. Etrailer delivered within 4 days of my order. Excellent supplier and product.

It installed easily. After a year of use.....still looks like new.
What else can I say......after years of purchasing products from etrailer I’ve never been disappointed.

Great....easy to install

Loved the delivery time! Originally bought on [online vendor] and the box was in pieces and the bolts were all gone. I found the only hitch that fit my car on the site and was excited when they said it would be here in 2 days. Box arrived fully intact and all parts inside. Only downside is that the holes to attach the hitch to the car were just a little bit off and had to be made bigger to attached. Thanks for getting the product to me quickly!

The hitch is very high quality. I was also very impressed with the way that it was packaged in a heavy duty box. There's no way that it could have gotten damaged during shipping. Collectively the whole shipment was done well.

  • What Vehicles Does The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver 13536 Fit?
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13536 you have fits the 2007-2009 Acura RDX. You will want to pass on to the new owner that they will need to purchase new mounting hardware, as the mounting hardware is only designed to be used once. For replacement hardware they will need the # RHK. I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Will a Relay be Needed to Activate Tow Package on a 2008 Acura RDX
If you plan on towing a trailer with your 2008 Acura RDX, then a relay may be needed to activate the towing package on your vehicle. The relay completes the wiring circuit to allow you to install a trailer wiring harness, like part # 56008, to allow you to run power and control trailer lights. The relay can be found at an Acura dealer or maybe at an auto parts store. If you are only needing the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13536, for an accessory like a bike rack, then you will not need to...

  • Curt or Tekonsha Wiring Harness for 2008 Acura RDX for Trailer Hitch
First, you made a good choice with the hitch for your 2008 Acura RDX with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13536. And I also recommend going with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56008. The reason we like this one over the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118500 you mentioned is because the Curt has a higher maximum amperage rating, which means this harness will give you the best prevention against potential shorts.

  • Differences in Class III Receiver Hitches Available for 2008 Acura MDX
Other than the fact that they are provided by different manufacturers, there is little difference between the Class III hitches manufactured by Curt and Hidden Hitch. Visually speaking, they are almost identical with the exception of the tang welded onto the Hidden Hitch receiver for attaching a trailer connector mounting bracket. Both receiver hitches have the same weight carrying capabilities, and install in the same manner. Either hitch would work very well for you. By choosing the...

  • Will Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2008 Acura RDX Fit Any Other Vehicles
The trailer hitch receivers like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13536 which are confirmed to fit your 2008 Acura RDX are only confirmed to fit on the 2007-2009 Acura RDX and will not fit any other vehicles. With that being said, adding a trailer hitch receiver is a great addition to any vehicle as it will let you transport bikes on a bike rack like the Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack # TH8058, or carry extra cargo on a cargo carrier. When it is time for you to get a new vehicle, we will be...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Acura RDX
The Curt Hitch part # 13536 that you referenced would be an excellent choice for a bike rack for your 2007 Acura RDX and would work great with the Swagman Trailhead bike rack part # S63360. If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter # 64005 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review...

  • Options for Carrying Two Bikes on a 2007 Acura RDX
A option for carrying bikes with your Acura RDX would be to use a hitch mounted rack. Unfortunately, a trunk mounted rack will not be compatible. Part of the problem is the glass you mentioned. Basically, a trunk mount rack cannot be safely attached to the rear of the vehicle. But there are other options. You could add a hitch and use a hitch mounted bike rack, or, use roof mounted racks. In either case these options offer more versatility than a trunk mount bike rack including towing,...

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit for 1968 Ford F-250 for Curt Slider Hitch

  • Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2008 Acura RDX
You have two options. First, you could use a suction-cup type carrier like # 298-BH1302 or # 298-BK1910-BK. The second option, and my recommendation, is to add a hitch like the Curt # 13536. Then you would have many choices of bike racks like the hanging rack by Thule, the Camber # TH9058. If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you...

  • Hitch And 4-Bike Carrier Recommendation For 2007 Acura RDX
For your 2007 Acura RDX, we have a few hitches you can choose from. Since you said you wish to carry 4 bikes on a carrier, you will want a Class lll hitch for certain. From my research I found your RDX has a towing capacity of 1500 lbs, which means your tongue weight capacity is about 150 lbs. We need to use that figure when considering carriers and the bikes combined weight. The hitch I recommend is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13536. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2008 Acura RDX
For your 2008 Acura RDX, we have the 1-1/4" Curt Hitch # 13536 that is confirmed to fit . Also, Curt requires the use of a stabilization strap, like part # 18050, when carrying any non-trailer loads such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. If you choose to tow a trailer, you will want to get a ball mount like Curt Class II Drawbar # C45503, but you will want to make sure you have the right rise or drop on your ball mount to tow a trailer level. You will also want a hitch ball in either...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2007 Acura RDX Towing an Aluminum Boat
I would recommend a Class III hitch, like the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch, item # 13536, for your 2007 Acura RDX. Class III hitches offer the greatest range of accessories and options for towing and carrying items at the rear of your vehicle. You will also need wiring to activate the tail light system on your boat trailer. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite, item # 118500, is the correct wiring harness for your vehicle and provides protection for...
