Today on our 2008 Chrysler Pacifica we'll be installing hidden hitch, part number87432. This is what ourhitch will look like once installed. Next we'll go ahead andgive you a couple measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of thebumper is three and one quarter inches, from the top of the receiving tube to the ground is eleven and a half inches. This will assist your selecting accessories, such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now we'll go ahead with installation. We'll go ahead and point out the attachment points.
We'll have a total of four attachment points on each side, two in the bottom of the frame and two in the side of the frame. Three of these attachment points are either pre-drilled or cut-out holes in the frame by the manufacturer. The fourth attachment point for each side will be the welled nut that we will remove one of the manufacturer's bolt from.Note: first we've gone ahead lowered and removed the spare tire for the ease of installation. Next we'll begin by lowering the exhaust. We'll put a safety strap underneath to help support the weight.
To lower the exhaust we'll remove the two rubber isolators from the back of themuffler that's secured to the metal hangers. To remove the rubber isolator from the metal hanger, we'll spray each one with some spray lubricant and just use our pry bar to pry the rubber isolator off the metal hanger. Now that we've removed the rubber isolator from the metal hanger, we can use the safety strap to safely lower the weight of the exhaust out of the way to gain access to frame rail here on the passenger side. Let's go ahead and remove the bolt now. We'll set that bolt aside as it will not be reused. We'll use the new hardware provided with our install kit.
Next we'll go ahead and install the half inch carriage bolt and block. This will be the forward attachment point in the bottom of the frame. Taking our pole wire, going through the attachment point and out the access hole, we'll then slide on the block and thread on a carriage bolt. We'll feed the block and bolt into the frame and then pull them into position. Once in place, we'll go ahead and remove the half inch bolt leader. Now we're ready to go ahead and prepare our hitch for installation. Getting sandwiched between the hitch and the frame at the half inch carriage bolt will be a half inch flat washer.
To make it easier to install the hitch and the flat washer, we'll go ahead and tape the flatwasher directly to the hitch. Now with that done, we're ready to go ahead and put our hitch in place. It's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install your fasteners. As we put the hitch up into position, we'llinstall the new twelve millimeter bolt, while with a half inch conical tooth washer the teeth to the washer are facing the hitchinto the manufacturer's well nut that we removed the manufacturer's bolt from. Then once we have that supporting the weight of the hitch, we can go ahead and install our conical tooth washer and half inch nut for our half inchcarriage bolt. Next we'll install the hardware into the side of the frame, using our half inch bolt leader we'll go through the attachment point and out the access hole in the bottom of the frame. There we can slide on the block and thread on the carriage bolt, feed the block and bolt into the frame and then pull them into position. Once in place, we'll remove the bolt leader and install the half inch split lock washer and the half inch nut. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process for our fourth and final attachment point, keep in mind each process we do on one side we'll repeat identically on the opposite side. Now with all the hardware in place we'll go ahead and tighten it down. Next we'll torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now with our hitch secured and torque tospecifications, we're ready to reinstall the exhaust. With our exhaust reinstalled, we'll go ahead and remove the safety strap and this will complete the install of our hidden hitch, part number 87432 on our 2008 Chrysler Pacifica.

I'm not that mechanically inclined when it comes to vehicles and when I called around to get quotes for a hitch the cheapest was $425 for parts and labor. Then I came across etrailer.com. They made me feel confident I could do this myself for a fraction of the cost. Cheaper price for the parts too. The video online was spot on and took me step by step to putting my hitch on and it was SO AMAZINGLY EASY!!! The video doesn't miss a thing. My new hitch looks and works great and is very well crafted. etrailer.com is a top notch company. Already recommended it to my whole family! 35256

The videos on the etrailer.com web site were instrumental, though I had to watch them several times as the video progressed from step to step quickly. I worked on my back with the rear of the car elevated on metal ramps. While I supported the exhaust pipes, they did not fall as warned on the video. In fact, the free hanging mufflers did not drop enough to slide the hitch into place on the frame. I had to hand pull one muffler down so the hitch would slide over it. I had my wife assist with positioning the hitch into position, but everything else I did myself. When moving the hitch into position on the frame, I put a nut on one of the half-inch bolts so that it did not get knocked into the frame while I focused on the other side. In the end it came out perfect. I'm very happy with the result and with the satisfaction of doing the installation myself. 20140

Very easy installation, everything I needed was in the kit. I watched the installation video before I got started and I have to say I was a bit sceptical about the fish wire. I was pleasantly surpirised, it worked perfectly. I took my I-pad out to the car and did the installation step by step with the video. The video was very descriptive and the installation went smoothly. The hardest part was removing the muffler isolators. I used the wiring harness video for installation of the wiring and again used the I-pad to go step by step with the video. Great product, it looks very well built. I don't expect to have any problems with it. 74252

This is the second hitch I ordered from etrailer.com and as before the hitch is great quality sold at a good price. etrailer.com excells at support online with top-quality, application specific installation videos and instructions. I also really appreciate the email contact throughout the entire ordering and shipping process-- I know just where everything stands. The only negative was that the box the hitch arrived in was busted up so the frame mounting ends of the hitch were sticking out. These had gotten banged up and the powder-coat had chipped off in several spots. Nothing a minute with a rattle-can of paint couldn't take of, but it's a shame that the top-quality anti-rust coating Hidden Hitch uses was compromised. The first hitch I odered was just fine, but it was shaped a bit different, and perhaps the box it was in was handeled better by UPS. etrailer remains my "go to" place for everything I need for towing/trailer parts. 9086

Grab a six pack!! Get a lot of beer and about 4 hours time. I didn't have a lift so take that into consideration... But you half to remove the muffler first - just remove the two bolts. Second issue, is the hitch itself is very bulky to handle under the car. Fishing the bolts through is not hard but difficult at times. The attachments are almost all bolts and flat washers...like I said "Beer"!! End product is awesome and everything came like promised - service is excellent. Thank you eTrailer!! 1285

This item installed exactly are instructed. However what made this product rate as excellent is the installation video. As I was under my vehicle with my ipad doing the install I was greatfull for the video. Also the little spring wire tool is a god send. I am telling all my truck buddies about ETrailer.com. I would send a photo but it looks exactly like the photos already on the site. A PERFECT FIT. 45558

Everything was shipped- hitch fitup was great- unfortunately 5 of the 6 blocks had square openings which did not fit the carriage bolt. Bolts would not sit inside the block. Added 2 hours to the installation. Too bad- everything else worked great- but the blocks had to be modified. Also, some explanation of which direction the conical washed is assembled would help too. 124503

Very Happy with the hitch and the install,it went just like the video, the only problem I had was with the feed wire, the first bolt went o.k. until I tried to remove the feed wire, it would not come off the bolt and when It did, it was stretch out and made the install of the other bolt's a little harder.other then that I'm happy with the hitch. 108211
The Receiver was exactly like the video showed. No problems installing. I could tell while installing that there was a lot of thought and engineering that went into developing this receiver. It arrived in about half the time it was suppose to. Everything was there. The cost was great!! I would recommend to anyone at anytime. Great experience!! 41935

Very nicely designed hitch, and it fit perfectly on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. Your installation video was well done and helped me very much to install the hitch. I am 85 1/2 years old and I put the hitch on in the Patio of our Winter home in Alamo, Texas. I may use it to pull my other car home. Thank you very much. Floyd 172559

Installed the sucker today in about 25 minutes at the gas station, and that was only because we had to stop and rewatch the etrailer video on my model of car. Follow the instructions, and its easy as pie. Box was a little dinged up on arrival, but that hardly matters. 175510
