No one wants to spend hours under their car with a drill in hand. With the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2", the bolt-on installation is a breeze, requiring no drilling into your vehicle's frame. This means you can have it securely mounted and ready to use without the hassle or stress of complex installations.
If rust is your nemesis, this hitch has you covered with a high-gloss black powder coat and a rust-resistant liquid Bonderite coating. This dual-layer protection ensures lasting durability and gives you peace of mind that your hitch will withstand the elements, offering superior corrosion resistance so it looks sharp and performs flawlessly for years to come.
A hitch that can do it all without announcing its presence. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver sports a concealed cross tube, which means it integrates seamlessly with your vehicle's design. When not towing, it's virtually out of sight, offering a cleaner, factory-like appearance that doesn’t compromise on functionality.
Whether you're hauling a trailer or carrying bikes for a weekend adventure, this hitch is engineered for the task. It can support a maximum tongue weight of 750 lbs and a gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs, making it robust enough for most towing needs. It even accommodates weight distribution hitches for added stability when you're carrying larger loads.
You don’t want a hitch that wobbles or feels weak. Curt's precise, robotic welding provides superior strength and accuracy, ensuring a snug fit unparalleled in its class. This enhances its durability and ensures safe towing, trip after trip.
Keeping your hitch clean shouldn't be a chore. The open-back receiver design allows for effortless cleaning, preventing buildup of dirt and debris. This simple feature makes maintaining the hitch's appearance and function straightforward and stress-free.
Tech Tip
No drilling through vehicle frame required for installation , Requires temporary removal of bumper/fascia during installation , Exhaust must be temporarily lowered for installation , Installation requires permanent removal of the impact structure; hitch replaces the impact structure for support and safety
Easy to install once I followed the video instructions. Plus I was able to just drop in the bolts while they were on the hitch and did not have to fish them through with the wires. It took a while to install only because I would watch a little of the video then do the work.
Perfect Factory Fit, at more than half the cost of same hitch at dealership. Appreciate extra 'wire chasers' which were included with hardware. Recommend applying a small amount of wax or lube to the lag bolts before you install them vertically - the bolts which were provided in my kit had alot of burs on them which provided alot of unnecessary friction for the nut. After I ran the nuts and bolts through tap/dye set, installation was alot smoother. If you don't have a tap/dye set, put some lube on the bolt and run the nut up and down a few times before you try to install it vertically. This will remove any excess burs on the bolt and make securing to underside of vehicle easier.
Fast shipping. Exact fit with relatively easy installation. Thank you!
Hitch is nice. Would have been 5 star but installation was not smooth. I had to use a die grinder to open up the two forwardmost mounting holes by almost 1/4". Perhaps changing the slot to the opposite direction would help here.
Packaging was not very good. Box was all taped up because the item inside easily moved around.
Have not installed it yet so no comment on fit.
I chose this hitch over the cheaper Draw-Tite hitch for my 2019 Buick Enclave because it's made in the US and because of the Curt reputation. However, the Draw-Tite hitch comes with a mounting tab for the electrical connector; had I realized that when I ordered I probably would have gone with the Draw-Tite hitch. My installation used the Tekonsha T-One harness (PK12711U), the Pollak 7-pole mounting bracket (Mounting Bracket) and the short no-drill mount (18140).
When installing this hitch, I recommend having the following tools handy in addition to standard hand tools: An impact wrench, a die grinder with a carbide burr, and a metal scribe. The front mounting bolts will tend to spin if you try to tighten their nuts by hand, but an impact wrench makes it easy to tighen (and if necessary, loosen) the nuts. The scribe and die grinder will be needed if your hitch doesn't quite line up with the holes in the vehicle frame.
The installation instructions are bit misleading. They say to install all the mounting bolts with the exhaust hangers in place, but it is nearly impossible to install the front mounting bolts with the exhaust in place. Instead, leave the exhaust hangers off and install all the bolts. Then remove the exhaust hanger bolts and re-install them with the hangers in place.
The holes for the front mounting bolts didn't line up with the factory holes on my 2019 Enclave. What I had to do was to tighten the rear mounting bolts and then scribe the locations of the factory holes on the hitch. I then removed the hitch and enlarged the holes using a die grinder with a carbide burr. The hitch seems to be mild steel and is easily machined with a die grinder. I've included a picture of the hitch after scribing the hole locations and then after enlarging the holes.
I recommend using a flat trailer harness if you don't need the 7-way harness. There's not a lot of room inside the fascia close-out for the 7-way connector. I was able to fit it all in by reversing the Pollak bracket on the short mount. I've included a picture of how I assembled the harness connector, bracket and mount. It was also necessary to bend the bracket and rotate the connector 90 degrees to get everything to fit inside the fascia close-out.
Install was straight forward, however, there was a major fitment issue. First, the two tongues that are supposed to slide into the slots on the car were too narrow. I had to fight to get them to even go in. Then, when I went to fish the lag bolts that lock that tongue part down, the holes did not line up. I was only able to install and tighten one bolt on each tongue. Serious fitment issues.
That said, I was able to install (not correctly) and it will get the job done for what I need. I am not pulling a trailer. Just using a hitch mounted bike rack.
It seemed pretty heavy duty
I think this hitch should be designed with 2 pre drilled holes for you to be able to mount your wiring....if you purchase the wiring harness and the bracket you have no way to mount it except for a few zip ties and one crummy self tapping screw that will more then likely break....great job curt....I hate your product... it was not designed for an easy install of your very own wiring....and yes I know that you can buy the no drill one but I would prefer to just have pre drilled holes....make your product designed for your brackets if your going to make them as well.
Great hitch at a great price. Installation instructions were clear and precise. I wouldn't recommend trying to install it yourself if you aren't mechanically inclined or car savvy.
Amazing product! Awesome quality very heavy duty. Perfect fit.
So easy to install, the hitch was a perfect fit for the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. the videos were very detailed. Tips for the DIY out there. do not tighten bolts and nuts until you have all of them in place, I actually did and then the bolts for the muffler hanger did not fit, so I had to loosen the bolts and install all of them in place. I installed the bolts for the muffler hanger without installing the hanger. then I tightened the nuts between the muffler and the bottom of the vehicle. then I remove the bolts for the hanger and installed the hanger.
As promised with fairly good instructio ns.
Box was on rough shape but hitch was ok
perfect fit
I installed this myself. The Video on YouTube was spot on. My recommendation to anyone installing on a travers is wear gloves when you are working around the muffler heat shields. Got me twice before I gloved up. My bad. But a very good product from etrailer. Ordered on a Sunday and had it on Wednesday.
Easy to install on your own.
Relatively easy to install, instruction video did not mention it but to fish the bolt through the rear hole its so easy if you shine a flashlight through the hole the fish wire goes through then you can see the hole to put the wire through. Good heavy duty quality hitch..
Used on front of rv to carry bikes
No problems
Another great price, excellent service, fast delivery etrailer order completed. A few points and words to the wise:
You will likely need to egg-out at least one mounting hole on the hitch, GM is installing one or more bumper studs crooked for some reason (2021 Traverse had one stud at a 10 degree angle while the other three were straight as an arrow). It's not a problem if you have a die grinder with a carbide burr, takes literally two minutes to make it work. The hitch is made correctly, the car is made wrong. Use caution while installing hardware in the area of the exhaust heat shields. This material is as sharp as a razor, expect to get cut and scraped if working in short sleeves. I suggest long sleeved shirt or Kevlar sleeve to avoid injury (again, an issue with the car, not the hitch). Third point- There is a problem with some Curt hardware, this install I had one of the 1/2-13 nuts start to strip, I had to use locally obtained nut to complete the install. This is the second Curt hitch install where I have had problems with the hardware fatiguing well before the torque value stated in the instructions.Tighten in stages and STOP if it suddenly takes alot less effort to tighten (not stripping out) Cheap China hardware on a USA hitch?

While the Traverse is not our primary trailer hauler, the hitch has worked perfectly with small single axle trailers and has been used on a few occasions to put our boat in and out of the lake. Due to the location of the hitch, the Traverse needs a drawbar with most small trailers. The adjustable type is what we use. Works great. Still amazed that the Chevy dealer wanted $700 to install a hitch. Its a simple task and can be done in a couple hours on a Saturday.
This went on without issue. Thanks to your Youtube video. I was able to install by myself in about an hour and a half.
Heavy duty, seems to have a very heavy black finish
The back hole was not aligned to my cars hole by .5 to .75”. I had to dremel out my cars hole longer for the bolt to go through. That was a pain.
But otherwise, seemed very good quality
great product great price easy instructions for installation
Perfect fit

The hitch was a good fit besides it was a 14 inch too long I had to pound on the hitch and vehicle to get the bolt holes to line up
