Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fits great on my 2016 Buick Encore

by:

Great quality, good instructions, fits great. I choose standard shipping and I received this within 30 hours of placing my order!!! Also, etrailer.com had the best price.

by:

very fast and responsive.

by:

The hidden hitch arrived in a shorter time than I expected. Even though I haven't installed it yet, it appears to be a relatively easy job.

by:

Arrived. Easy to install.

by:

The hidden hitch arrived within 3 days of order and I ordered on a weekend. The hitch installed fairly easily and looks good on my 2014 Buick Enclave. I was able to put the cover back on with no problem and it looks great. I am very happy with my purchase.

by:

Instructions are very good. I love the idea of the hidden hitch. Fairly easy to installed except for dropping the muffler. I will use it to haul a small utility trailer. The wiring was a little more difficult but was worth the effort. It took me about three hours to install both the hitch and the wiring.

by:

Installation instructions were good; no problems with installation.

On a 2013 GMC Acadia the factory fascia will fit right back into place without any adjustments necessary. Really is a "hidden hitch".

by:

Excellent trailer hitch. It was a breeze to install and I didn’t need a lift. Everything lines up and the bolt wires made it a snap to get the bolts and spacers into the frame rail. The only way to make this better is to have nylon lock nuts. I backed up the standard nut with nylon lock nuts for added strength.

  • Trailer Towing Setup Recommendation for 2014 Buick Enclave
You are on the right track! The Draw Tite hitch part # 75528 is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Buick Enclave as well as the trailer wiring kit # 118270. The wiring mount part # 18144 will also give you a place to mount the 4-way that bolts to the bumper. The ball mount part # C45036 that you referenced is would also work well if you need 2 inch drop. I attached a help article that details how to pick out a ball mount drop as well.

  • Will Trailer Hitch from Buick Enclave Fit Lincoln MKX
The Draw-Tite Class III # 75528 and the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13424, which are the available trailer hitches confirmed to fit the 2014 Buick Enclave, are compatible with certain model years of the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and the Chevy Traverse. However, the trailer hitch on your Buick Enclave will not fit your new Lincoln MKX, as the body styles are simply too different between the vehicle models. If you are able to tell me the year of your Lincoln MKX, I will be happy to...

  • Towing Capacity for 2016 Chevrolet Traverse without Factory Tow Package
When looking at weight capacities of a towing setup, you will always be limited by a system's weakest component. I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2016 Chevrolet Traverse and saw that for a front-wheel drive model that does not have the factory trailer towing package, the maximum trailer weight is 2,000 pounds. As you mentioned in your question, the factory towing package would have bumped it up to 5,200 pounds. So with your Traverse that does not have the factory tow...

  • Best Way to Transport 4 Kayaks on 2015 Chevy Traverse
Without knowing the length of the crossbars and the weight of the kayaks, I would have some doubts that you're going to be able to carry 4 kayaks on the roof of a 2015 Chevy Traverse-but if you were going to do it the Thule Stacker # TH830 would be the way to go since they don't take up a ton of space. You're going to need roughly 50" (the Stacker takes up about 3" of bar space) of crossbar space to successfully do this. I would also recommend checking your owner's manual to find out the...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 3,900 Pound Trailer with a 2016 Buick Enclave with Factory Tow Package
In addition to a trailer hitch, such as # 75528, for your 2016 Buick Enclave you will also need a trailer wiring harness, ball mount, and ball. These are the basic components needed for towing. It looks like the Enclave already has a trailer wiring harness so that plus the hitch means we need to look at ball mounts and balls. I recommend an adjustable ball mount such as # C45900 because it is height adjustable from 6 inches drop to 5-1/4 inch rise and it has both a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch...

  • Ground Clearance Dimension for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75528 Installed on 2014 Chevy Traverse
When we installed the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75528 on the 2014 Chevy Traverse we measured a distance of 18-1/2 inches from the ground up to the top inside portion of the receiver. This would put the middle of the receiver at about 17-1/2 inches from the ground. • Picking Out a 4-Way or a 7-Way for 2017 GMC Acadia Limited AWD
Commonly 4-ways connectors are on smaller trailers that don't have brakes and 7-ways are on larger trailers that will have brakes. It really depends on the types of trailers you'd plan on towing. Or you can install 7-way kit confirmed as a fit for your 2017 GMC Acadia Limited part # 118271 and then use a 4-way adapter with it so that you could tow a smaller trailer as needed like with the # PK12716. If you cannot find the specs for your OEM trailer hitch on your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse and you are wanting to replace it then I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75528 as it has a Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 750 lbs. Even though this trailer hitch has a TW of 750 lbs you will need to check with your copy of the owner's manual to make sure that you stay within the TW limits of your Traverse. You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118450. • Solution for Weld Nuts of Trailer Hitch that Are Too Rusty to Thread Bolts
Rusty weld nuts can make trailer hitch installs pretty difficult but there are solutions. First you want to clean them as well as possible so that hopefully that allows the bolts to thread. But worst case scenario you can use a thread tap to clean the threads out. If you can't even get the tap in I'd first try cleaning them with a wire brush and WD 40 first to help get the tap started. I attached two help articles that cover how this is done as well.
