Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

After a year of use on my 2021 Chevy Colorado, this Draw-Tite hitch receiver has met all of my towing needs. It arrived as promised and in excellent condition. The self-installation was easy after viewing the videos provided by etrailer. I highly recommend this item for your towing needs.

2016 ChevroletColorado

The hitch arrived quickly and I installed it a day or two later. When looking the job over and decided to support the bumper instead of removing it which worked out. You can see how I did it in the photo. You just have to be careful not to knock it over. At first I thought there was a problem because the hitch wouldn't fit between the frame rails and the bottom bolt holes were a little misaligned on the drivers side. I found the vertical plate on the drivers side needed a couple taps with my rubber mallet which brought everything into alignment and it went right in. Remember to torque the bottom bolts first. I ran the bottom bolts up and thought they were snug and went ahead and torqued the upper bumper bolts. It bugged me that there may have been a gap so I loosened the upper bumper bolts and rechecked the torque on the bottom bolts and found that the bolts on one side turned another half a turn or so when I rechecked the torque. I'm happy with the hitch, it looks great.

Still working fine after a year has passed.

Incredible fit in my new 2017 GMC Canyon. We are talking factory perfect. The box was perfect - no dings, bends or dents to pry back - Flawless fit. My pix say it all. The tuck under the frame is laser-perfect. Jacked into place like butter on toast - smooth. The finish is incredible - the welds look perfect - the hardware wrapped perfect. I mean 10-out-of-10 perfect. This is my third hitch from etrailer.com, and I've bought a couple harnesses for one-off projects - and I keep being impressed. Keep it up!!

I chose etrailer because they have a good selection and they had the best price for the item I was looking for. My trailer hitch receiver was damaged in shipping but the people at etrailer were very responsive. They quickly re-shipped a new one and the return was very easy.

by:

Replaced the factory bumper hitch with this receiver hitch on my 2018 Chevy Colorado. The instructions were easy to follow and actually did the removal and install by myself. Since that time I've pulled open trailers of yard debris and a 6x10 enclosed trailer and motor cycle through the NC mountains and to Sturgis and back without any issue. Solid, quality towing upgrade.

by:
2017 ChevroletColorado

I just installed this Draw-Tite trailer hitch on my 2017 Colorado and expect nothing short of flawless performance going forward. The design is solid and I really like the sleek design that leaves most of the hitch hidden from view. With a pending move to some property in Oregon, towing my dump trailer ought to be a breeze thanks for this hitch and the awesome product experts at etrailer.com.

Just finished installing your hitch on my 2019 Colorado.
I should have had another set of hands but I was able to safely install with a couple of straps. Your product fits perfect.
Where how one person can safely install your etrailer hitch. Just tighten the straps and pull it up location.

by:
2016 ChevroletColorado

High quality hitch. Installation went smooth with e-trailer's online video. I also purchased wiring kit for truck and I'm very happy with both. The installation videos are very helpful.

by:

A brand new 2020 Colorado truck for one of my commercial customers required this hitch. The installation took about 45 minutes as all the hardware was new and not a problem to remove. The hitch has the spare tire bracket mounting welded to it in order to keep the factory one there making this better than other brands that had not done this.

by:

Great service; great product. Received everything in 3 days to Southern California. About 3 hours total install time utilizing the EXCELLENT video showing how to splice to the factory GM harness. Very, very valuable. I could not recommend etrailer any higher. Many thanks!

BTW I prefer the DrawTite, because they retain the spare tire brace. Don’t like having parts left over.

by:
2015 ChevroletColorado

Product is quality hitch way better than OEM that was installed on my Colorado. Only problem was powder coating came off of edges. I will have to paint before install. Still would buy again etrailer service is awesome. Part went on sale after I purchased and etrailer fixed and gave me the better price. Have bought several parts from etrailer always fast shipment and quality parts that will last.

Received the hitch and wire harness 2 days after I ordered them. Installation was easy and not too time consuming. Would definitely recommend to others.

Perfect fit on my 2016 Colorado. Liked that it had attachment for Spare tire cradle. Instructions were very clear. Was able to support the bumper to not remove all the electrical wires.

by:

Product was delivered ahead of schedule. Took the hitch to our local Chevrolet dealer and had the hitch installed with no problems. A great value for this product.

by:

Hitch arrived quickly. I had difficulties with the packed instructions. The packed instructions wanted wires disconnected. I found an etrailer you tube video much easier.
Reomend you look for the video when installing. No wires disconnected.

by:
2018 ChevroletColorado

The hitch looks nice on my 2018 Chevrolet Colorado and I'm happy with the overall fit and finish. The "etrailer.com" and other stickers were not quite aligned with the frame of the hitch, but these are hidden behind the bumper so I'm not concerned. Install took under two hours for one person without a lift. The hardest part was removing the original bolts, which had some sort of thread locking compound from the factory. I completely removed the bumper rather than supporting with jackstands as this gave easier access to the bolts when installing the hitch. Note that you'll need to disconnect the wiring harness for the backup camera and license plate lights if you want to remove the bumper entirely.

One year later hitch is still working great. A little surface rust inside the receiver tube but otherwise perfect.

by:

I need to haul a trailer occasionally, and I hate to pay a rental place or the dealership to install a hitch. I looked all over the internet, and etrailer.com had the best selection, comparable prices, fast shipping, and nice online video of how to install, so I ordered one.
It arrived when it was scheduled to, and I installed it all by myself.
It did take quite a bit longer than an hour as the instructions said, but lying on my back, it took about 2 hours total time from securing bumper, to showing my wife. It looks great, fit perfect, and will hold much more than I will ever tow.
I also ordered the electric plug for my bumper that accepts both round trailer connector plugs as well as flat. That installed great! I love it! So convenient.
All in all I am totally happy with my order, delivery, and quality of this new hitch receiver!!

I have used this reciever probably 5 times over the past year. Works great. No complaints.

by:

The hitch fit perfectly and so did the power / light connector. Worked great for towing a U-Haul and my Harley.

by:

Works perfectly and easy install just had to remove the bumper

by:

Very quick turn around from the time of order and date received. I watched an installation video and determined that I could install the hitch with help to lift and hold. I used jack stands to support the bumper and straps to hold the bumper in place. I struggled getting the factory bolts loose but otherwise the installation was slick. A nice addition to my 2019 Colorado.

Works just fine. I live in Florida 5 months a year and pull my bass boat to and from the lake 5 days a week while there and have had zero problems with the hitch.

by:

What can I say? Trailer hitch, big piece of metal. But, it fit like a glove and was really impressed with the response time for order processing... they got right on it.

by:
2019 GMC Canyon

Unit looks to be welded extremely well, love the final fit but watching the video directions was not the experience for the installer. I had my GMC dealership install and they (I've know the mechanic for 30 years) had to completely remove the rear bumper to get it correctly into place and then re-install the bumper so I am glad I did not tackle this at home.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I recommend touching up the affected places on the hitch with a rust resistant paint. This will help to prevent rust and also you will have it on hand for regular hitch maintenance.

I would be happy to help you. I have attached a picture of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13176 attached to a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado.
