The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.I want to give you guys 5 stars, but the quality control is not the best, unfortunately it was not covered in the right way when you shipped the trailer hitch and this can cause rust soon. But fits perfect
Shipping was very fast. I installed the hitch and wiring harness over the weekend. The instructions were easy to follow. I did it myself; however an extra set of hands would have made it a little easier. The DrawTite hitch is more substantial than the original bumper support. It fit perfectly. The Hopkins wiring harness was easy to hook up and it looks like an OEM part. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I installed the hitch reciever and the 4 and 7 pin plug but what's the wiring harness I'll need? I figured that would be with the plug.

First of all, the delivery of this trailer hitch receiver was quick. It came well packaged, all the parts needed in addition to the electrical connection which was ordered, were included int he box with the hitch. It was just as described in the advertisement and installation was just as viewed in the video on you tube. the installation was easy and the wiring was correctly color coded to my truck. I recommend etrailer for all your towing needs. I will use thin again in the future!
Hitch went on without issue. Removing factory parts took infinitely longer ! Definitely easier with 2 people. Hitch looks great, I chose the round bar to match my Westin step bars. Also installed the Hopkins HM40975-11998 wiring kit that fits in the factory bumper cut out it looks super clean with no dangling wires. Watched the 2 videos a few times (hitch and wiring) and it took about an hour and a half to install both.
First off, I can hardly believe how quickly my order (hitch receiver, ball mount and wiring kit) arrived. I ordered it Wednesday during business hours, selected standard shipping (free) and it was waiting for me at home on Friday afternoon. I installed it all this morning. As others have mentioned, it definitely takes longer to remove the factory parts than it does to install the new parts. Make sure you have an extension for your socket set to make getting the rearmost bolt out/in of the frame easier. One thing to note, the installation videos that were suggested to me for this hitch receiver said that the spare tire cradle could not/would not be re-installed, however, this particular hitch has a flange that allows for the cradle to be reinstalled again. All you have to do is pop off the threaded clips from the factory receiver and install them on the new receiver. This can be done easily using a flat screw driver. One other "tip & trick" is that the shipping box that the receiver came in can be used as a nice cushion on the garage floor to give you some insulation/padding if you're not fortunate enough to have a lift at your disposal. Just pull out all the staples and flatten the box, presto-chango, there you go!
For the 2018 Chevy Colorado, everything went very easily. The only hard part was removing the original bolts on the factory hitch and bumper. An impact wrench is suggested, but it would be harder with the bumper bolts. I suspended the bumper with cords from above rather than jack stands. The bumper is very light and cords from above give much more flexibility to fit the new bolts in place. Did the whole job without a lift and entirely by myself. Nothing heavy or requiring a second or third person. The electrical hookup was the simplest ever with the factory wiring already in place. No need to get into the tail lights. All excellent.

Easier to install than we expected. The Chevy Colorado has a bar behind the bumper that must be removed before installing the hitch. It wasn't as difficult as we expected. The hitch seems to be great quality and heavy duty.

Very easy to install. It arrived with some large areas where the powder coating had been chipped off. Had to prime and paint before installation, But otherwise can’t wait to use it to tow a new camper we purchased.

Item works as it should and wasn't to bad to install. Asthethically it seems as if it's under engineered because of the side plates that are on the factory part but not this upgrade.
