As many people have probably figured out with the 2023 Palisade there is not currently available the hidden behind the panel hitch. I could not wait until Hyundai figures themselves out for a tow hitch so I went ahead with this one. It is an excellent quality hitch. I installed it by myself. A FEW TIPS: don't put bolts thru without the washers like in the video as this just adds extra steps, just put them on when you put it in place originally. You also dont have to take the furthest forward muffler holder off. Do yourself a favor and jack up the back end of it to torque the bolts and make sure you have a 19 mm box wrench because you have to have one due to space issues. Other than that it's extremely straight forward.
As far as etrailer goes: I purchased my last hitch for my previous vehicle on [online] due to price a few years ago. This time I ordered on [online] instinctively then checked etrailer and immediately cancelled my [online] order and ordered from here. The hitch was cheaper shipped with tax than the base price on [online]. There are many positives during the experience (they called within 10 minutes of me submitting my order to verify my address and email. It was purchased on the 17th and arrived on the 19th. BUT what really set them apart is the last hitch I got from [online] was just wrapped in shrink wrap and was dented and dinged horrendously, to the point where I had to hammer a portion straight for holes to line up. etrailer sent it in a hefty box, and it was secured 360 and was in perfect condition when it arrived. Their install videos are also top notch. Great experience, will buy from here going forward.1503455

I reversed some of the 12mm bolt directions and didn't need to trim the exhaust shield on one side or the plastic panel on the other. Great product. Clean install. Fit perfectly on 2023 Palisade Calligraphy. Love that it doesn't have the tubes showing from underneath like most hitches I've seen on Palisades.1659995

I was going to purchase, and have installed, a receiver hitch locally for my 2020 Hyundai Palisade but could not find a shop that could do it in time for a weekend trip. So, I decided I would purchase this unit from etrailer.com and do the installation myself. I received the unit within a few days which was great. I watched the installation video ahead of time to familiarize myself with the installation process.

I must say that it was super easy, and the directions were spot on. The entire install took me less than an hour. It would be helpful to have two people when it comes time to lift the receiver into place, but I managed to do it myself. Tools needed are a ratch or open-end wrench, plastic prybar or screwdriver, and a rubber mallet.

The receiver is solid and looks great. Clearance seems the same and I have not scraped the bottom of the receiver or anything hitched to it on anything so far. I have a steep street entrance apron and have not had any problems. I mount a 4-bike platform rack on it and it goes in easy and feels solid in the receiver.

One year later and still happy with this hitch. No issues at all. I use this hitch weekly for bike racks and haul a trailer once a month. The hitch has worked fine.

Absolutely impressed with e-trailer’s fast shipping and customer service. And, the system they use to show how your order is progressing through the shipping maze. Best ever, really!! The CURT hitch went on without a hitch! Many others have left tips for how to install on the 2022 Palisade. I just installed on a 2023 Palisade with no issues. The one surprise on my Palisade was that there was no trailer lights module. Or, they have moved it somewhere else as compared to where it is on the 2022 (based on some e-trailer user photos). Wish I could give this 5 stars because etrailer’s service was great and everything arrived in good condition…and fast! The hitch itself is also very nice and looks good now that it is installed. However, installing it was much more difficult than I thought it would be. Probably some of this was because I bought my 2020 Palisade used and it already had considerable rust in the built in vertical bolt openings. I really tried cleaning it with lubricant and a wire brush like recommended by etrailer, but it was still very hard to insert and tighten the bolts going into those holes.
More disappointing was that the diagram provided in the paper instructions shows the long horizontal bolts going from the middle towards the outside of the frame, but we found that it was not feasible to do this. On the muffler side, the frame had a raised lip adjacent to the posterior hole that prevented us from tightening the bolt from that side. It only worked with the nut on that side and the boxed end wrench angled to avoid that lip (the socket would not fit around the bolt head and go in flush straight into the frame.) This may have been an anomaly in the frame from Hyundai as there is no good reason that this raised ridge/lip should be so close to the bolt hole… But we had a different problem on the driver side too…if the posterior bolt was placed going outward the end had enough length that it blocked us from replacing the plastic frame cover on that side when we were all done. It worked fine when we reversed it so the head of the bolt was on the outside and snug against the frame. I didn’t look back at the video to see if it was recommended to go from outside to inside or vice versa, but the written diagram that we had while installing very clearly shows the bolts going outwards.1584365

2021 Hyundai Palisade

I purchased this and did a self install on my 2021 Palisade about a year ago. The self install process was super easy (requires two people) and the hitch itself has worked great thus far. It's very high quality and was flawless. I would definitely recommend.

Very Well actually. Much more pleased with this version than that unsightly mess offered by the factory. This is a far cleaner installation. Only problem experienced is there is nowhere on the rear of a Palisade to mount the trailers electrical connector. In their effort to cut costs and weight, everything back in that area is thin plastic. There isnt a solid place back there to mount anything two unless youre willing climb under the vehicle every time. That isnt Curts doing: their stuff mounts and looks good. Its a Palisade issue.

5 STAR +++ rating. etrailer.com had the lowest price I found on the Internet and Super FAST shipping!!! I ordered the hitch on Saturday morning and received it on Tuesday before noon. It arrived in a heavy duty carboard box with no shipping damage. Install was pretty simple, except for torqueing down the bolts on the exhaust side. Took one to hold a wrench and one to Tighten the nut. However, for being 67 years old I was pretty happy I could handle the install with a little help, especially lifting it into place(with help) and putting the first couple of bolts through the frame on each side. I like the clean hidden look much better than the Hyundai factory hitch. I added the 4 wire connector bracket to the bottom of the bumper cover by drilling two 3/16" holes in the lower black trim and attached with #10 1/2" bolts and nuts. I like the way that everything looks and no wires hanging down. I did reverse the bolt on the driver's side that was not able to go through because of a plastic piece being in the way. Overall I very pleased with the Curt hitch and with etrailer.com1310277

This is the third trailer hitch I have bought from e-trailer. The service and quality is great. Videos show you how easy it is to install yourself. For my 2023 Palisade I saved over $250 by installing it myself and it only took about an hour, including prep and putting my tools away.1612927

Product has been great, we had it installed at a local installer and have had zero issues with this hitch. I have seen different after market hitches on other Hyundai Palisades and the Curt Trailer Hitch looks much better.1560587

We installed the CURT C13427 Hitch and CURT CU94FR Wiring Harness in my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The hitch is very heavy. It takes two people to position it and put the first bolts in. Once you've got one in on each side, the rest is easy. The supplied parts were high quality and fit perfectly. The video showing how to do it on the Palisade was very good, but so too were the written instructions.

The CURT Wiring Harness was also easy to install and came with good instructions. The only thing I did different was wrap the 4 wires leading from the circuit box to the trailer plug in spiral harness wire wrap. I didn't like seeing those wires out and somewhat exposed.

I've seen the Hyundai / KIA factory towing packages. I think this combination from CURT and eTrailer is every bit as good if not better. And it cost a lot less than buying through Hyundai.804826

Great instructions! Went on as-described. Holding bolts in-place while tightening/torquing was a little challenging, but doable with patience. Same with putting bottom plastic cover back on - bolts want to push it out of place - patience and a little pushing were required.932241

I give this 4 stars because I feel like the directions could be a little better. My biggest issue was on the drivers side. One bolt position has a plastic nipple poking down out of the frame. I used a screwdriver to pry it to slide the bolt past. The other bolt should be installed opposite of the directions because the extra threads interfere with reinstalling the plastic tub. All in all, I’m satisfied with the materials. Look nice, appears to be good quality and took me an hour and five minutes to install!1316593

Fits into place, cleanly, and is relatively simple to install. Does not provide a sensible location for mounting either the 4 pin or 7 blade towing electrical harness, however. Also wishing the receiver was extended rearward and offset upwards of the bottom of the bumper for better accessibilty (would rather have accessibility, than have to crawl underneath the platform and rear of the vehicle) to the pin and positioned to where whatever hitch is inserted so what is attached (ie. platform) doesn't hit on every dip or speed bump, or be set level to be burned by by the flow of exhaust. The design is for a clean look with nothing attached.1374711

This hitch looks miles better on our Palisade then the factory version from Hyundai. The receiver is all that hangs below the bumper, which affords a clean look. I wanted 7pin wiring, so I ordered the T-one wiring harness (118784), curt 4 to 7 pin adapter (C57672), and the curt long mounting bracket (C57202). I made a 90 degree bend in the mounting bracket 1.5 inches from the end and mounted it vertically off the hitch. This resulted in a factory look with 7 pin wiring. The vehicle is equipped with a wiring harness capped behind the rear bumper cover behind the left rear wheel. There is full 12v trailer power, ground, left turn, right turn, brake, running lights, and and extra wire that I assume is reverse lights. The t-one harness used all but the extra wire, so I was able to tap into the wires in the t-one harness for power and ground on the 7 pin. I didn’t have to touch any wires on the vehicle prior to the harness. Install was easy, besides the required bend in the wiring mounting bracket.883731
