2020 Ford Escape
The receiver is a good quality part. Welds look to be solid. The coating covers all areas very well, including the internals of the tube and joints. So shouldn't javelin a corrosion issue any time soon.
As far as install on a JKU, it couldn't have need more simple. Just 4 bolts and nuts. No clearance problems. Two of the four holes were a little snug but were easily cleared with a mallet, tapping the bolt. In my case the exhaust was not in the way. For those with stock exhaust the hangars are the most difficult to deal with. I recommend some lithium spray. Overall, good product, super simple install.

2019 Jeep Wrangler
Solid hitch, easy installation. Didn't need to drop the muffler on my 2019 JL and still had enough room to get a Socket wrench in there. JL Sierra (maybe others) have a bracket and 2 bolts already in place. This isn't mentioned in the instructions, just the Rubicon is differentiated. I just removed them and replaced with the hitch in place. Otherwise make sure it is centered BEFORE you torque the bolts.... Don't ask how I know.

The quality of the part (appearance, weld quality, and protective coating) are top notch. This is the second hitch I've purchased from etrailer and I installed it on a third Jeep (the first hitch was installed on two different Jeeps). Unfortunately, this particular part required me to grind the holes larger for 3 of 4 attaching bolts. The production 12mm bolts cleared all 4 holes, but the 1/2" bolts provided in the kit required extra work that turned a 20 minute job into a 2 hour one.

2016 Jeep Wrangler
I installed the Curt hitch on my wife's 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Backcountry. This hitch is excellent quality, finish is very shiny and appears to be long lasting. It slipped right on pretty much perfectly, one side was a little tight, but I sprayed some Fluid Film as a protective layer between the hitch and bumper, and that helped with the sticky end. I could hold it up with one hand as I inserted the bolts, one man job for sure. Took about 15 minutes to install and thread the nuts on, did not have to remove the exhaust but a couple of the bolts were tricky to get in. Then I had to borrow a torque wrench from my neighbor, as the bolts need torqued to 110 lb ft, and mine only went up to around 80 lb ft, so keep that in mind if you are self installing. All in all, the easiest hitch I have ever had to install, and made in the USA, which to me is worth the investment.

Hitch arrived this morning- 5 minutes to install in 100 Degree heat laying on concrete. One minor note is that this 2018 JL Wrangler Unlimited's rear bumper does not have a hitch notch on the bottom.

Made well... But of course it's made in USA ! EZ installed used the curt wiring harness also run the wire through the rubber plug in the fire wall below the slave cylinder inside under the plastic kick panel on 2019 JL sport. The rest was simple plug & play this kit cost a lot than the factory mopar harness. Thanks Geroge

Buy the longer receiver if you have a JL. The hitch bolts up easily and the fit and finish is fantastic, but there are a few issues. The front bent bracket covers the threaded hole in the crossmember that the factory trailer connector mounts to. Plan to use another brand, or get creative with the bracket. The receiver ends about 3” from the bumper on my JL Sport S, so it seems like the 9” would have been perfect. I only order the 6” because I had a 9” on my JK and kept smashing my knees into it. The hitch pin is about 11” from the face of the spare tire. My 2-1/2” drop ball mount is 9” from pin to ball so I can event get my trailer on the ball without hitting the spare.

What a easy installation! Great solid design and nice hardware. This took me exactly 8 minutes to install! I wish it had a provision / mount for the trailer light plug. That was a bummer. I ended up bundling the wire under the frame. I bought the trailer light wiring hardness from etrailer as well. Under 20 minutes for complete installation including wiring. Easiest hitch and wiring I have EVER done.

Great hitch. Great product. A little FYI for 2016 Wrangler Willys jeep owner there are two bolts in the bumper that you have to thread i will post a picture of the area. The hardest part was taken the rubber off the exhaust system other then that pretty easy : ) this hitch is by far the best deal on the Internet u will save yourself over 400 dollars putting it on your self. PS. It a one man job.. Happy hauling :)

2010 Jeep Wrangler
The hitch is excellent, very high quality steel, fits perfectly. One suggestion: remove the bumper, do not drop the muffler. The bolts will slide in from the muffler side but the bumper is in the way to install the nuts, tighten them and check with a torque wrench. My 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport JK has just 6 bolts holding the bumper on, all the bolts are easily accessible. Removing the bumper made the job much easier.

2018 Jeep JK Wrangler
Trailer Hitch arrived 1 day earlier than expected. It took approx. 45 minutes to install as I had to clean out welds on 3 of the holes on the vehicle. Did not have to lower exhaust. Nice simple easy to follow directions. I cut a 2x4 the distance from the floor to the hitch and wedged it under to make it easier to use both hands to install the bolts, torqued to values mentioned in instructions, and done. Product seems to be made extremely well and strong.

I’ve been using this hitch with only three bolts. The last one was about a half of hole off and bolt would not go in. I don’t pull a heavy trailer so no big deal. I will remove it if I ever sell my keep. You never know what other people will hook on to. I don’t like the tabs for the safety chains either. It’s very hard to hook into. I have to get a hitch for my wife’s keep now and I’m not getting this brand.

We have seen that you arent the only one who has run into this issue. You may try prying up the muffler to get that last bolt in as that seems to have worked for others that were in this situation.

The installation was more than 20 minutes because took me a little effort to slide the hitch onto the rear steel frame behind the rear bumper cover. I had to tapped it all way up onto the steel frame with my 3 lbs hammer. It’s just a tight fit which I like that. The instruction paper that came with the hitch says you will need to loose the muffler by removing its rubber hanger I did not have to. I was able to slide s all four bolts into the hitch holes from the top of the muffler but I had to pry the muffler down a little with my pry bar so I can slide the last bolt in. It did not take much to pry it down.
The hitch is looking good and looking performance.

Seems like a very sturdy product, hopefully it will hold up well over time. I plan to haul my little trailer with 4 wheeler
Only hard part about the install was having to try and remove the rubber exhaust hangers from the exhaust / frame. Was only able to get one side off, but it was just enough to be able to pull the exhaust down so I could get the bolts slid through the frame.
This is the second time I have purchased a hitch from etrailer.com. Shipping was very fast and again I am pleased with my product.
Took just about 40 minutes because of the issues with the exhaust, but everything lined up great and looks nice and clean tucked up under the bumper. There is just enough room between bumper and frame to slid the nut in with a wrench and get everything tightened down.

2017 Jeep Wrangler
The trailer hitch for my Jeep Wrangler Sahara arrived promptly, well packed and exactly as described and ordered.
The videos on the website were extremely helpful, so I knew what to expect for the installation beforehand.
But I actually did not even have to lower the exhaust as suggested in the video, I got the bolts fed through, regardless.
So it took less than 30 min to install the hitch.

This was supposed to be a direct bolt on hitch, not a piece that has to be modified by enlarging holes. Why wouldn't they be the correct size to begin with?

The hitch install was easy, I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. The instructions didn't mention anything about removing two bolts that were already there and using a tool to pry the plastic bumper mount out so the hitch would slide into place, but I figured it out pretty easily. Also, you will have to reuse 2 of the factory bolts since the supplied bolts won't thread into the nuts that are welded onto the bumper mount (this wasn't mentioned in the instructions either). I did not have to move the exhaust, I was able to install it with no problems with a socket/ratchet combo.
One other note, the install video shows the hitch being flush with the bumper, mine is recessed quite a bit... Probably will have to use an extension for most hitch mounted accessories.

Installation was relatively easy. Would have been a simple bolt up install, but due to tight tolerances had to enlarge one of the holes to get all 4 bolts to align.

2017 Jeep Wrangler
The product is great, delivered quickly.
The install on my 2017 Wrangler was a little harder than I thought but I could have saved myself a lot of time had I known what I know now. I had two problems:
1) One of the holes was too small so I couldn't run the bolt through (see the hole on the right on the picture)
2) Bumpy welding job didn't allow my to put the hitch receiver all the way in
Here is how I would approach it if I had to do it again:
1) No need to drop the exhaust (I fought hard to put it back in)
2) Try the bolts without the hitch first, if they don't come through the holes, remove the bumper to see what your issue is. Removing the bumper is very easy, simpler than messing with exhaust (find a video online)
3) Make sure the hitch goes in all the way (I had to grind the bumpy welding job to allow the hitch to go in - see picture)
4) If holes are too small, run a round file in the hole for a couple minutes (that was enough for me to make room for the bolt)
5) Install hitch
6) Put bumper back on

This is the 3rd hitch I have bought from etrailer. All are exact fit and work great. Video instructions are awesome bonus. For my jeep, I also needed a hitch extension, which I ordered from amazon, because it was cheaper, but big mistake, they sent wrong thing, so never again. I will use etrailer from now on for all my towing accessories.
