Perfect Fit for Your BMW X5: Custom-Fit Design

If you're hunting for the perfect hitch for your BMW X5, look no further. This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is custom-fit for models including the 2010 to 2018 BMW X5, even those with the M Sport Package and X6 models. Its tailor-made design means it integrates seamlessly with your vehicle's existing framework without any need for welding—just bolt it right in for a flawless fit.

Strong and Reliable Towing: Class III Hitch Performance

Need a hitch that doesn't just look the part but plays it too? This hitch steps up with a Class III rating, supporting up to 600 lbs tongue weight (TW), 6,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW), and the same capacities when used with weight distribution. It’s robust enough for your towing needs whether it’s hauling a small trailer, bikes, a boat, or extra cargo.

Stylish Durability: Powder Coated Steel Finish

Sick of rust ruining the look of your ride? The Curt Hitch Receiver is crafted from powder-coated steel, making it both sturdy and corrosion-resistant. Its slick gloss black finish not only enhances aesthetics but also ensures rust and wear are kept at bay—keeping your hitch looking sharp and fresh.

Seamless DIY Installation: Included Hardware and Instructions

Why hassle with cumbersome installations when you can have that pro-installed look right at home? This hitch includes a complete hardware kit and step-by-step installation instructions, making DIY installation a breeze. Plus, etrailer's technical support and instructional videos guide you through every step, ensuring even if you're a novice, you can hook it up without a hitch.

Ultimate Towing Package Compatibility: Enhanced Wiring Options

The flexibility of this hitch doesn't stop at towing. The modular wiring compatibility, including options like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller and the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller, means you're equipped for both wired and wireless control. This setup is perfect for those wanting to ensure their trailer lighting and brakes are as top-notch as their towing setup.

Concealed and Sleek Look: Hidden Cross Tube Design

Nobody wants a clunky hitch sticking out, disrupting the sleek lines of their vehicle. The concealed cross tube means this hitch integrates naturally with your BMW X5’s undercarriage, leaving only the receiver visible. It's the ideal choice for maintaining your vehicle's aesthetic while providing the towing capabilities you need.

by:

Great fit, easy installation, and looks great.

by:

Not as described. Shorter that claimed.

by:

Easy as possible from start to finish. It was easy to research and select the correct receiver online. Then the Youtube video providing instructions was spot on. installation took approx 2.5 hrs only because I was super cautious removing the bumper. And it looks wonderful!

by:

Very solid

by:

Worked great, held up awesome!

by:

The reason I bought from you was because of your installation video. The video for the hitch and the electical wiring was the key for me. The hitch works great. Hope you continue with videos to help us DIY'ers.

Received product promptly

by:

Install video super helpful

by:

Perfect fit !! Fast shipping and great instructions.

by:

Trailer hasn't come unattached yet. Installation was not easy on my E70 X5, but that's not the hitch's fault. Great bang for the buck.

What do you mean by "yet"...?

by:
BMWX5

Really works great! The setup fit my BMW x5 and gets medium/heavy use on a weekly basis to pull a smaller trailer.

by:

Bought this for my 2016 BMW X5. Exceptionally low price for the quality of the product. Fitment was excellent and the hitch sits up high and close to the bumper cover but remains easy to access. Value was a 10/10.

  • Hitch, Wiring, Brake Controller, Camera, and Weight Distribution for 2015 BMW X5
First thing you need to tow a trailer with your 2015 BWM X5 is a trailer hitch like the Curt # 13077 which is mostly hidden and had more than enough capacity for your trailer. Next for trailer wiring you'd want the part # 119250KIT to provide the 4-way lighting functions. To convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller you'd then want the part # ETBC7 with a brake controller like our Brake EVN # TK63VR which is proportional, reliable, and also priced well. For a camera setup for...

  • Comparing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75600 and the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13077 for a 2015 BMW X5
Although the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75600, and the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13077, are both great hitches that both have a 6,000 lb max Gross Trailer Weight and a 600 lb max Tongue Weight, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75600. The reason that I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75600 over the Curt # 13077 is because the Curt hitch requires that you use a stabilization strap, like part # 18050, for any non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers per the Curt warranty....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For A 2015 BMW x5M
Hi Matthew, For a 2015 BMW x5M you would need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e84AR. This is going to replace the bumper beam and just have the receiver tube sticking out for a cleaner look. The installation is a bit involved because removing the fascia on a BMW requires a lot of care but is doable if you're a DIY kind of person. If not, you can use our installer locator (linked below) to find a shop near you to complete the installation. If you're planning on towing a trailer...

  • How Can I Mount a Kayak Carrier with a Rooftop Cargo Bag?
I have an answer for you. Since you have Thule AeroBlades that measure 36-38" wide and the Rightline Gear Sport Jr. # RL100S50, that leaves only 6-8 inches for the kayak carrier. We unfortunately do not have a kayak carrier option that is compatible with 6-8 inches of crossbar space. With that being said, the only way to transport a kayak carrier like the Thule Hull-a-Port # TH849000 is to remove the Sport Jr. from the rack. If you still want a bit of roof-top storage space, you can...

  • Hitch Needed to Use Curt Bike Rack with 2014 BMW X6
As long as you had a hitch installed on your 2014 BMX X6 like the Curt part # 13077 which is a confirmed fit the Curt bike rack part # C18085 would fit and work well. For a tilting bike rack, it's really hard to beat this rack for the money. If you were looking for something entry-level that will still get the job done this would be a really great option!

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2015 BMW X5 with M Package- not Performance M
I talked to my contact at EcoHitch and the determining factor with this is whether or not your M package includes the backup sensors or not. If you do not have the backup sensors on your 2015 BMW X5 the ECO-hitch # 306-X7265 will work for you. If your X5 with the M package includes the backup sensors you won't be able to use the ECO-hitch so you need to go with the Curt # 13077 which has been confirmed for use on the 2015 BMW X5 M Sport or M performance. This hitch recommends that the...

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75600 is going to be our closest receiver which meets your requirements on your 2014 BMW X5 35i. The Curt # 13077, Draw-Tite # DT36GR (76903), and EcoHitch # EH44FR (X7403) all require the removal of the impact structure which you do not want to remove. The Curt # 13077 and Draw-Tite # 75600 are both at a weight rating where it could be considered a class III or IV. A class III is rated up to 6,000lbs with up to 600lbs of tongue weight. While a class IV is rated higher there is not a specific number that a receiver must have to be a class IV. You do often see receivers which will say class III/IV since they fall into this similar style weight rating where some manufactures will consider it class III while another will rate it as a class...

  • Hitch, Trailer Connector and Brake Controller Recommended for 2017 BMW X5
For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III, part # 13077 as the etrailer brand # e98840 you'd looked at isn't a fit. For a ball mount, use # 2753 and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball. For the trailer connector and brake controller, I'd recommend using a wireless option like the Curt Echo, part # C51180. The Echo will communicate wirelessly with your smart phone, allowing you to control trailer braking from the vehicle cab without needing to drill into your...

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch Fit a 2017 BMW X5 with M Sport Package
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13077 will fit on your 2017 BMW X5 with the M Sport Package, but you will need to cut the rear fascia for it to fit. Attached is an install video we did of this hitch on a 2017 X5 but it didn't have the M Sport Package. We did have someone else install this on an X5 with the M Sport Package and I'm attaching the photo they sent in for you to check out. Let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for and I can make some recommendations as necessary.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2008 BMW X5 to Tow 3,000 Pound Boat Trailer
Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch - 2008 BMW X5 # 13077 is a popular option for your 2008 BMW X5. We even have a video showing installation on a 2008 X5 which I have linked for you. For a wiring harness I recommend ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT because with it you will not have to cut and splice into the vehicle wires. Curt hitch # 13077, another of the Class III hitches offered for your 2007 BMW X5, is not suitable for use with weight distribution systems. • Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Install Where Holes Dont Line Up
We see this on occasion and while its super frustrating the issue is that the hitch got bent in shipping and that's why the holes don't line up. If you can find like an open stairwell or some other way to use leverage to bend it back that is totally fine. As long as the paint doesn't flake or creases don't develop the hitch is fine to use. I attached a help article on this for you to check out as well.

I recommend going with the Curt trailer Hitch # 13077 and then the Tekonsha ZCI Wiring Kit # 119250KIT for towing with your 2013 BMW X5 3.5i because the Curt hitches tend to have the best welds and thicker powder coats, and then the ZCI wiring keeps you from having to splice into your OEM wiring.
