Good hitch. Solid and the bolts all line up. I put it on a 2024 Acura MDX and the only issue was that my MDX had a foot activated tailgate control which was in the way when I tried to mount it. There is a video on the e-trailer site which shows that you can cut away much of the foot control switch mount which allows it to fit but this might bother some people. I did it and it worked fine as far as mounting the hitch goes. The antennas which control the gate control were somewhat unsupported so I zip tied them to the hitch frame which seems to have worked as the gate operates fine, at least for now. I think there is a different type of side mounted gate control that some folks may want to consider buying if they are uncomfortable modifying a warrantied part. Otherwise great hitch and a straight forward install.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Honda Pilot
To add a 2" hitch to your 2023 Honda Pilot, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Pilot with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum tongue weight of 900 lbs so you will have no issues with capacity. I have linked an installation video below. Please note that the hitch fits with a mini spare tire stored under your Pilot, but does not fit with a full size spare. Also, the hitch may interfere with...

  • Why Is Curt Hitch for 2025 Honda Pilot Not Compatible With Vertical Hanging Bike Rack
Hi Anthony; the forces applied to the # C22HR hitch and the frame from a vertical hanging bike rack (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically) are different from your standard platform rack like the # HLY94FR or hanging bike rack. Curt runs their hitches through a lot of testing so I'm sure they found the stress from this rack style is too much for the hitch and/or vehicle frame.

  • 2022 Acura MDX Hitch Receiver and Spare Tire Space
I will be happy to clear up the confusion for you. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C22HR you referenced and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT42MR will only accommodate the 18" spare on your 2022 Acura MDX. These are the only two hitches available for your 2022 MDX and both have the same dimensions and limitations when it comes to room for your spare tire. The spare tire mounted on the 20" wheel will not fit. Both of these hitches are custom fit and bolt directly...

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2023 Acura MDX
The only difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22HR and our etrailer Receiver # e27KR is the powder coat finish. They are both custom fit receivers manufactured by Curt for your 2023 Acura MDX. We selected Curt to manufacture our receivers based on their quality and having a made in the USA product. The Curt receiver has a gloss black finish while our etrailer receiver has a matte black finish. I personally feel the matte black looks better and give you a more factory appearance...

  • Is Mounting Bracket Needed For Curt 4-Way on 2024 Honda Pilot
Thanks for the purchases Cathy, and the quick answer is nope, a mounting bracket is not needed at all for your 2024 Honda Pilot for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C48ZV. Pretty simple reason why is the # C48ZV will actually mount right in the rear storage area/hatch of your '24 Pilot and you'll only take it out of there when you want to use the 4-way. I like the fact it stores in the hitch because the 4-way will stay cleaner and won't get...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Acura MDX
To add a hitch to your 2023 Acura MDX, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Acura with included hardware. I really like this hitch because the cross tube installs behind your rear bumper cover. This leaves only the 2" x 2" receiver visible. The matte black powder coat finish not only offers superior rust protection but it also helps to conceal the receiver below your bumper trim. The etrailer Hitch item # e27KR is made in the USA and...

  • Will The Draw-Tite DT42MR Fit 2023 Acura MDX Technology With 20" Full Size Spare?
Hey Ralph, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say that the Draw-Tite # DT42MR will NOT fit with the full size 20" spare tire on your 2025 Acura MDX. Basically all of the hitches for the 2025 MDX, the etrailer # e27KR, Curt # C22HR, and Draw-Tite # DT42MR are structurally identical so it will be the same case for every hitch. The side flanges and cross tube of the hitches simply don't allow room for the full size spare. If you need to carry cargo with your MDX an alternative solution...

  • Is There a Trailer Hitch Receiver Compatible With Hands Free Liftgate On 2025 Honda Pilot?
While we have not personally tested the hands free liftgate on a 2025 Honda Pilot Touring we have received reviews on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22HR that it was still operational. Do understand as I found out on my Acura RDX that the area you have to kick your foot will be reduced and you are most likely going to have to kick your foot closer to the rear fascia then before. We have either a 4-Way # C48ZV or 7-Way # C35ZV wiring kit depending on what size trailer you are going...

  • Curt vs. etrailer Trailer Hitch For 2024 Honda Pilot
There's only one difference between the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches that fit your 2024 Honda Pilot, which is the finish. The Curt has a glossier finish than the matte black finish of the etrailer hitch, so you can choose which you prefer. The hitches that fit your '24 Pilot are the following part numbers: - etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e27KR - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22HR The matte black finish is nice as it hides the inevitable dings, scuffs and scratches better than...

  • Recommended Curt Trailer Hitch For A 2024 Honda Pilot
Hey Sal, The correct Curt trailer hitch for a 2024 Honda Pilot would be the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch # C22HR (13472). The 13146 is a fit for 2016 - 2022 year models. If you plan on towing a trailer then you'll want to pick up the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C48ZV to transfer your light signals to the trailer.

  • Hitch for 2022 Acura MDX for Carrying Bike Rack for 2 inch Hitch
The only hitch options we have for your 2022 Acura MDX like the Curt # C22HR that you referenced can only fit with a mini spare. So best option would be to use this hitch and then see if you track down a mini spare from an Acura dealer. This will work great with a bike rack for a 2 inch hitch and would not prevent your hands free liftgate from working either. At worst you might have to kick to either side of the hitch opening to get it to activate.

  • Will etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Require Cutting or Trimming on 2023 Honda Pilot Touring
Installation of the etrailer # e27KR does not require any cutting of the bumper or purchasing a special panel. The receiver hangs down below the bottom of the bumper. The same is true for the Curt # C22HR you looked at. The two are identical, but I would choose the etrailer hitch for the matte black finish over the glossy finish on the Curt. Curt Manufacturing lists the # C22HR Class III hitch as a fit for all models of the 2022 Acura MDX. Installation will not require removing the bumper cover. If your spare tire is mounted to a wheel larger than 18 inches in diameter, the spare will no longer fit under the vehicle with the hitch installed. • What is 18 Inch Spare Referring to on Curt Trailer Hitch For 2022 Acura MDX
So the 18 inches that is being referred to here is actually the diameter of the wheel/rim, as opposed to the diameter of the actual tire itself. I know that can be confusing but for whatever reason that's how manufacturers define it, so what you'll want to do is measure the diameter of the wheel on your 2022 Acura MDX, and I'm guessing, based on your 24 inch measurement of the tire, you very likely have an 18 inch or or smaller diameter wheel. If so, you will be able to leave the spare...

The difference between the Draw-Tite # DT42MR and the etrailer # e27KR and Curt # C22HR trailer hitches for your 2023 Acura MDX is actually the amount of rear clearance as opposed to ground clearance. Ground clearance is the same between these hitches but the Draw-Tite juts out a little more with the design which is why there is some fascia trimming.
