Video Transcript for 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems Feature Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the 2-5/16-inch hitch bolt for Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems. This has been designed for use with the Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems. It's made from a high-grade chromoly steel construction. It's going to feature a nice strong durable design. It's going to have a rust-resistant double chrome plating. It does come with your lock washer and the nut so both of those components are included.

It's going to have your wrench flats here on the side which is going to allow for an easier installation. It exceeds SAE J684 testing and certification. The ball diameter is printed right there on top. That's going to say 2-5/16 of an inch. It's going to have a weight capacity that's also printed on there that says 12,000 pounds. The shank length, that's going to measure about 2-1/4 inches long and the shank diameter is going to measure 1-1/4 inches.

When you're ready to install it, this goes through the ball hole on the head assembly. Washer goes underneath and then you would install the nut and then you need to get it fully tightened down. You would need to get it torqued to the specifications listed by the manufacturer. That's going to do it for today's look at the 2-5/16 inch hitch bolt for Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems.

  • Are The Trunnion Spring Bars Of A Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Hitch Interchangeable
The trunnion head # FA92-02-1255 for your Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800 is the same one used on the 6,000-lb, 8,000-lb, 10,000-lb, or 12,000-lb systems so you can just swap out your spring bars for part # FA92-02-1299 and trunnions with part # FA92-02-1244 to increase the capacity of the hitch. You'll just want to doublecheck that your shank and hitch ball are rated for 12,000lbs as well. If not you can use part # FA92-02-4100 for the shank and...

Yes, we do have the Thin Walled Socket for Equal-i-zer Hitches # EQ70-00-4800 and their 2-5/16" hitch balls. • Blue Ox TrackPro or Fastway e2 For 3,500 lb Trailer
Hi Art, You have a couple good options there, but between the Blue Ox TrackPro and Fastway e2, go with the former, from Blue Ox. The correctly rated hitch for a 3,500 lb trailer is the following: - Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU36FR While both systems have 2 points of sway control, what I really like about the TrackPro compared to the Fastway is its ease of use. The TrackPro is easily lubricated with grease zerks, unlike the Fastway, and has a hitch head with...

  • How to Determine Correct Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System
To determine the correct Fastway weight distribution system for your setup you need to find your total tongue weight. You need to determine your trailer's loaded, and ready to tow tongue weight and combine it with the amount of weight you have behind the rear axle of your 2013 Ram 1500. You want your total tongue weight to fall somewhere within the range of the system you choose. From my research your trailer has a GVWR of 7,635 pounds. If you're loading your trailer to its full capacity...

  • Recommneded Weight Distribution Hitch For a Forest River Rockwood Roo 235S
I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-1200 for your Forest River Rockwood Roo as we no longer carry the Husky weight distribution hitches. With your trailer having a dry tongue weight of 738lbs it will quickly increase when they fill the propane tanks with 40lbs of propane and add a 50lb Battery # BRW34FR to the front of the trailer. Also since the majority of the storage is on the front of the camper it would not surprise me if you reach over 1,000lbs of tongue weight...

  • Can 2-5/16 Hitch Ball be Used With Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution BLU36FR
Well thanks so much for those kind words, and we can help you out here. Since you have a 450 lb loaded tongue weight, the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU47FR would indeed be rated too highly, but you can actually just substitute a 2-5/16" hitch ball for the 2" hitch ball that comes with the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution # BLU36FR. TheTrackPro # BLU36FR is rated properly for your tongue weight, and all you'd nee to do is replace its 2" hitch ball with one that has a 1-1/4" diameter shank,...

  • Which Weight Distribution Hitch for Featherlite 2 Horse Trailer
Which weight distribution hitch you'll need will depend on the specs of the trailer- the GVWR and the tongue weight of the trailer. From what I was able to find it looks like a typical 2 horse Featherlite trailer will weigh around 8000-lbs fully loaded. I recommend using a weight distribution hitch like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # FA92-00-1200, which has a tongue weight range of 800-lbs to 1200-lbs, so it will work...

  • Tools Needed To Replace 12,000LB Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball On Weight Distribution Hitch
To replace your 2-5/16" Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6120 you will need a Thin Wall Socket # EQ70-00-4800. You will also need a 3/4" drive ratchet, 6" extension, large crescent wrench and 3/4" torque wrench capable of 450 ft-lbs of torque. You will likely also need some penetrating oil to help remove the nut especially if you can see a lot of visible corrosion. I have linked the installation instructions for the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37120ET below so you will...

Please review the help articles I have linked. I suggest you try the Fastway e2 Weight # FA92-00-0800. This is for 500-800 lb. tongue weight and one the better rated WDS from customers. • How to Select the Correct Weight Distribution Hitch Depending on Trailer Weight
That's an excellent question, and the short answer is that you should wait until you have a trailer before getting a weight distribution hitch, as knowing its GVWR and loaded tongue weight is important to get best overall system. The reason is, if you get a system that doesn't have the needed capacity, it won't be effective, and a system that is rated too highly will give you a stiff and possibly bouncy ride. So in order to choose the best weight distribution system you will first need...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2020 Lance 2375 Travel Trailer
The use of a weight distribution system is indeed recommended for your 2020 Lance 2375 Travel Trailer because its weight is more than half of that of your 2018 Ram 2500. I am not saying that it would be impossible for you to tow your trailer without one but the difference between towing with one and without one would be a night and day difference. Most people do not realize what affects rear end sag has on the vehicle's braking and stability. The added sway control protection is also a...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 8,600 lb Travel Trailer
For a travel trailer with an 8,600 lb GVWR, your loaded total tongue weight will be somewhere in the 1,000 lb range, and that's the number we'll use to get the right weight distribution system. The ideal system would be one in which your total tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity. The system I highly recommend for your travel trailer is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1200. The Fastway...

  • Weight Distribution/Sway Control Recommendation for 4000lb GVWR RPod 180 Travel Trailer
Fastway offers the # FA92-00-0600 e2 weight distribution/sway control system that would be ideal for the roughly 4000 lb GVWR of your Forest River Rpod 180. This system is designed for trailers with fully loaded tongue weighs ranging from 250-600 lbs, which is right in line with what the fully loaded tongue weight of your small travel trailer would be. For a 2 inch hitch ball, use # EQ91-00-6080 or # EQ91-00-6120 for a 2-5/16 inch ball. To install the hitch ball, you'll need a 1-7/8 inch...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For 28 Travel Trailer With 650lb Gross Tongue Weight
I would be happy to recommend a weight distribution hitch for your 28' travel trailer, but you will want to confirm the total tongue weight of your setup before ordering a system. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your full loaded and ready to tow trailer, plus the weight of any cargo added behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The easiest way to determine this is using a tongue weight scale like the # e99044 to get an accurate tongue weight number. If your total tongue...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 33-Ft Heartland Travel Trailer
The most important thing you need o know when choosing a weight distribution hitch is the total tongue weight. This is the tongue weight of your fully-loaded-ready-to-tow trailer added to the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle. The tongue weight of a trailer is typically 10 to 15 percent of the trailer so for a dry weight of 6780-lbs it could range from 678-lbs to 1017-lbs. The main differences between these 2 hithes is the Fastway is designed as an entry level hitch for the person who is unsure of how much they tow. • Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2016 Ford F-150 Supercrew
The best way to determine which weight distribution system to get is to know the total tongue weight. This would be the tongue weight of your ready-to-tow fully-loaded trailer added to the weight of any cargo placed behind the rear axle of your truck. If you are towing a trailer weighing 5,500-lbs the tongue weight should be somewhere between 550 and 825 lbs. Add 200 lbs of cargo and you are around 1025-lbs of tongue weight.
