Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems

Today we're going to be taking a look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems. It's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to feature a durable rust resistant double chrome platting and the hitch ball's going to come with your lock washer and it's going to come with a nut, so all that's included. It's also going to come with a little set of instructions that let you know some installation instructions as well as making sure that you get it properly torqued down when you're ready to install it. Now, the ball diameter on the unit is two and 5/16ths of an inch. We're going to take a measurement of the shank real quick. This is going to give us an overall length of two and 3/8ths of an inch and it's going to give us a shank diameter of an inch and 1/4, and this has a weight capacity of 10 thousand pounds. When you install it, this goes through the hitch ball hole opening on the weight distribution head.

On the underside of the head, you place on the lock washer followed by the nut. Then again, according to the instructions that come with it, you want to get it torqued down properly. That's going to do it for today's look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems.

New to camping two year ago, had a R-Pod first year and now a Forest River FQ 17. Bought the Equal-i-er Weight Distribution system and trailer tows great.

by:

Correct size, good product

by:

Product information on website was useful for selection. Product delivery was good and ontime. Hitch was easy to install and adjust and helps keep my trailer from swaying.

by:

The Equalizer hitch parts I received were exactly what I needed to adapt our trailer hitch setup to a new tow vehicle. More importantly, Martha was super helpful - understood what I was trying to accomplish, and found the right parts for us. Great experience!

by:

quick delivery great customer service

by:

The price for the ball is ok, but then a special socket is needed to attach it and that’s ridiculously priced. Seems price gougey to me.

by:

Service was great. I was notified by etrailer that the package was damaged enroute to me. They immediately offered to resend the order.

by:

I've put a little over 4000 miles on the hitch and hitch ball that eTrailer recommended. It tows like a dream and is easy to use. Far better than the ride before weight distribution and it was eTrailer that finally got me into the right solution after several other companies talked me into buying the wrong thing. They've earned my trust.

The hitch is great! I installed the FA92-00-0600 on my 2014 Acura MDX to pull my 2019 Geo Pro 19BH camper. It is night and day between the old and new hitch. Way less bounce and herky jerky when starting and stopping. Really pleased with the hitch.

Installation was straight forward though it took a bit of time to dial in just right. You also need some big wrenches for sure. I also bought the ALL643216 socket to attach the EQ91-00-6100 hitch ball.

The packaging left something to be desired. Part of the box was falling apart and things fell out of the box when I moved it off my doorstep. The hitch is almost 100 lbs so I'm not totally surprised, but this could be improved for sure.

It was exactly what I needed.

This hitch is very simple to set up and take down while travelling. Drove home with our new 27 foot TT in high wind through the Columbia River Gorge with no problem.
My shipment of 3 boxes was delayed because of Midwest storms and I was concerned of the arrival. etrailer customer service was exceptional by their concern and devotion to keeping me updated of the arrivals of all 3 packages. Great item and company transaction.

by:

The website is user friendly. I was able to locate the item I needed and checkout without error. The Equalizer hitch ball was delivered promptly within the shipping agreement dates. The Hitch ball works with my Equalizer WDH effectively and is solid and sturdy. I have not question it will do the job.

by:

Shaft was too big, but seems like a quality product.

by:

Awesome customer service
Thank you

by:

Ordered the Equalizer distribution hitch. I have not had a chance to use it as my new travel trailer has not arrived yet. Very heavy duty and appears to be as advertised. I ordered this after reading several reviews.

by:

High quality ball I ordered with the hitch head and shank. The Equal-i-zer distribution/sway system is top notch and maybe in the USA! It came a day earlier than expected as well!

by:

Just what I needed to to replace the ball on my weight distribution hitch.

by:

Straight forward install on our 22’ Airstream. Experienced zero sway issues on 5 trips that have included highway speeds. Would purchase again.

by:

It’s a ball hitch. Fit great. What’s more to say?

by:

Very solid hitch ball. No complaints wh atsoever.

by:

Completes the Equalizer Hitch I just purchased, but haven’t had a chance to use.

by:

Highly recommended product from others. Didn't disappoint. Amazing shipping! Half of the shipment showed up the next day - the other, the following!!

by:

Great experience ordering parts I needed. The parts were shipped exactly the day they promised. Definitely would use etrailer again. Thanks again.

To determine which hitch extension you will need for pulling your trailer behind your 2022 Ford F-350 with the factory 3" receiver while you are carrying a truck bed camper you will need to measure the distance needed for the amount the camper sticks out. We have a few different length extensions that you will need to use with a weight distribution hitch to haul your trailer. 36" TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension # TLE1636 42" TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension # TLE1642 48" TorkLift Cannon...

  • Can The Curt TruTrack 2P Be Used To Tow a Travel Trailer RV Camper With 3,900LBS GVWR?
You are going to need a different system like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 which is rated for a tongue weight of 400-800lbs and trailer weight up to 8,000lbs. The Curt TruTrack 2P Weight Distribution System # C69JR is only offered in the one size 800-1,000lbs tongue weight and 10,000lbs max trailer weight. Curt does not make any other weight spring bars for the 2P system. You will be able to use different bars with the Fastway in the future if you move to a larger truck...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pulling 5,350LB Trailer
I recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-1000 for your trailer with the 2 UTV's. This system is also rated for a trailer up to 10,000lbs but has a much wider spread tongue weight capacity of 600-1,000lbs. The Curt # C69JR you found requires 800-1,000lbs of tongue weight which is going to be higher than you are going to have on your trailer. Typically tongue weight should fall around 10-15% of the trailer total weight. With a total weight around 5,350lbs you should...

The best weight distribution system we have for your 2009 Trailmanor 3124KB is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control part # FA92-00-0600. This system bolts on without any drilling into the frame and it has sway control to help you keep your trailer inline. It's rated up to 600 lbs of tongue weight which will leave you plenty of room for error with the listed dry tongue weight of your trailer which is 434 lbs. Please note, you will also need either the 2" Hitch Ball...

Since your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland has the factory tow package I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR which you can connect using the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED77FR. This is a very simple to use proportional brake controller and it only has a small dash mounted control knob so you will not have a large controller on your dash. For your Jayco Hummingbird 17FD with a 400 to 450 lb tongue weight, I highly recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Hitch # FA92-00-0600. The hitch is rated for tongue weights between 250 lbs - 600 lbs so it's rated perfectly for you, and there are a number of reasons I really like the Fastway. It has quality sway control, which is created by friction at two points on the brackets to keep your Hummingbird in line, and also the e2 is easier to set up than other systems, especially...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Bounce With A 2022 Winnebago 2108FBS Micro Minnie Travel Trailer
With your trailer being so new it sounds to me like the real issue is with your weight distribution hitch. Your Husky Centerline is most likely rated too high for the tongue weight of your trailer and is giving you this rough bouncy ride. The GVWR of a 2022 Winnebago 210FBS Micro Minnie is showing up as 5,500lbs so you would want your WDH to be rated in the 400-600lb tongue weight capacity range. I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 for your 2022/2023 Coleman 17B travel trailer. This hitch is rated for a tongue weight of 400-800lbs and a maximum trailer weight of 8,000lbs. With a dry tongue weight of 385lbs by the time they add a 40-50lb battery and the 20lbs of propane you are already up to 450lbs before you add any gear to your trailer. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 is compatible with surge brakes. The tongue weight rating of the 8,000 lb system is between 400 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weight so if 7,000 lbs is your empty trailer weight then this system may underrated for you since tongue weight is 10-15% of the loaded weight of the trailer. Not to worry, the added weight of a weight distribution hitch such as the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE44FR for your 4,500 lb Evergreen camper does NOT count as added towing weight or tongue weight. There is an issue though, in that the Reese # RE44FR is likely overrated for your camper.
