Video Transcript for Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - EQ91-00-6100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems. It's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to feature a durable rust resistant double chrome platting and the hitch ball's going to come with your lock washer and it's going to come with a nut, so all that's included. It's also going to come with a little set of instructions that let you know some installation instructions as well as making sure that you get it properly torqued down when you're ready to install it. Now, the ball diameter on the unit is two and 5/16ths of an inch. We're going to take a measurement of the shank real quick. This is going to give us an overall length of two and 3/8ths of an inch and it's going to give us a shank diameter of an inch and 1/4, and this has a weight capacity of 10 thousand pounds. When you install it, this goes through the hitch ball hole opening on the weight distribution head.

On the underside of the head, you place on the lock washer followed by the nut. Then again, according to the instructions that come with it, you want to get it torqued down properly. That's going to do it for today's look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems.

Product information on website was useful for selection. Product delivery was good and ontime. Hitch was easy to install and adjust and helps keep my trailer from swaying.

by:

The Equalizer hitch parts I received were exactly what I needed to adapt our trailer hitch setup to a new tow vehicle. More importantly, Martha was super helpful - understood what I was trying to accomplish, and found the right parts for us. Great experience!

by:

New to camping two year ago, had a R-Pod first year and now a Forest River FQ 17. Bought the Equal-i-er Weight Distribution system and trailer tows great.

by:

The price for the ball is ok, but then a special socket is needed to attach it and that’s ridiculously priced. Seems price gougey to me.

by:

Service was great. I was notified by etrailer that the package was damaged enroute to me. They immediately offered to resend the order.

by:

Shaft was too big, but seems like a quality product.

by:

Awesome customer service
Thank you

by:

Straight forward install on our 22’ Airstream. Experienced zero sway issues on 5 trips that have included highway speeds. Would purchase again.

by:

I've put a little over 4000 miles on the hitch and hitch ball that eTrailer recommended. It tows like a dream and is easy to use. Far better than the ride before weight distribution and it was eTrailer that finally got me into the right solution after several other companies talked me into buying the wrong thing. They've earned my trust.

The hitch is great! I installed the FA92-00-0600 on my 2014 Acura MDX to pull my 2019 Geo Pro 19BH camper. It is night and day between the old and new hitch. Way less bounce and herky jerky when starting and stopping. Really pleased with the hitch.

Installation was straight forward though it took a bit of time to dial in just right. You also need some big wrenches for sure. I also bought the ALL643216 socket to attach the EQ91-00-6100 hitch ball.

The packaging left something to be desired. Part of the box was falling apart and things fell out of the box when I moved it off my doorstep. The hitch is almost 100 lbs so I'm not totally surprised, but this could be improved for sure.

by:

This hitch is very simple to set up and take down while travelling. Drove home with our new 27 foot TT in high wind through the Columbia River Gorge with no problem.
My shipment of 3 boxes was delayed because of Midwest storms and I was concerned of the arrival. etrailer customer service was exceptional by their concern and devotion to keeping me updated of the arrivals of all 3 packages. Great item and company transaction.

The website is user friendly. I was able to locate the item I needed and checkout without error. The Equalizer hitch ball was delivered promptly within the shipping agreement dates. The Hitch ball works with my Equalizer WDH effectively and is solid and sturdy. I have not question it will do the job.

by:

Ordered the Equalizer distribution hitch. I have not had a chance to use it as my new travel trailer has not arrived yet. Very heavy duty and appears to be as advertised. I ordered this after reading several reviews.

by:

High quality ball I ordered with the hitch head and shank. The Equal-i-zer distribution/sway system is top notch and maybe in the USA! It came a day earlier than expected as well!

by:

Just what I needed to to replace the ball on my weight distribution hitch.

by:

It’s a ball hitch. Fit great. What’s more to say?

by:

Very solid hitch ball. No complaints wh atsoever.

Highly recommended product from others. Didn't disappoint. Amazing shipping! Half of the shipment showed up the next day - the other, the following!!

I would definitely recommend them to people. I was very pleased that someone on your staff steered me in the right direction to find what I needed. • Recommended Weight Distribution System For A 2014 Toyota 4Runner
When it comes to choosing the proper weight distribution system for your 2014 Toyota 4Runner The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 6,000 pounds GTW, 600 pounds TW # FA94-00-0600. When it comes to using a weight distribution system you need to be as close as possible to the weight you will be towing. If you go with anything way over the recommended weight it will cause more sway and could be dangerous. Make sure not to overload your vehicle adding a weight...

The only difference between the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 and the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA92-00-0800 is the bar design. The FA92-00-0800 Fastway system is a trunnion bar system that has square bars that slip into the front weight distribution head so they are bit easier to install. I recommend the trunnion bar system because it's easier to use. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control...

  • Can Weight Distribution System be Rated Too High
A weight distribution system's rating isn't directly related to the capacities of the tow vehicle. If you make sure the system is appropriate for the loaded trailer's weight and the loaded trailer is within the capacities of the vehicle then you'll be just fine. So your concern here isn't the 500 pounds tongue weight rating of your 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Instead you need to make sure the system is appropriate for the new trailer. The best way to do this is to find its loaded tongue weight....

  • Will 6,000 Pound Fastway System Work for 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH
When it comes to choosing the correct weight distribution hitch the most important factor is tongue weight. Ideally you want your loaded tongue weight, and you want to measure using a scale like the # e99044. We can, however, estimate based on the information you gave me. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your trailer weight. At your GVWR of 4,000 lbs that would be 400-600 lbs. After looking up the 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH it looks like the dry tongue weight is 410 lbs, so you should...

There is a weight distribution hitch you can use with your nearly 3,000 lb GVWR trailer, though I do have to mention that the owners manual of a 2016 Ranger Rover Sport says it is not recommended to use a weight distribution hitch with this vehicle. But if you decide to, what you can use is a hitch from Fastway: - Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600 The Fastway # FA92-00-0600 is for total tongue weights between 200 lbs and 600 lbs, which is right in line...

At that weight the tongue weight would be 421 pounds which is just under 11 percent of the gross trailer weight. Of course if you are not loaded to the max capacity then the tongue weight would be less. If your loaded tongue weight will be 750 or more I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-1000 because the spring bars are rated for tongue weights between 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. In general, if the gross trailer weight (GTW) of the trailer is more than 50% of the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) then the use of a weight distribution system is recommended. The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your truck can be found on the white tag inside the drivers door jamb.
