Video Transcript for Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - EQ91-00-6100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems. It's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to feature a durable rust resistant double chrome platting and the hitch ball's going to come with your lock washer and it's going to come with a nut, so all that's included. It's also going to come with a little set of instructions that let you know some installation instructions as well as making sure that you get it properly torqued down when you're ready to install it. Now, the ball diameter on the unit is two and 5/16ths of an inch. We're going to take a measurement of the shank real quick. This is going to give us an overall length of two and 3/8ths of an inch and it's going to give us a shank diameter of an inch and 1/4, and this has a weight capacity of 10 thousand pounds. When you install it, this goes through the hitch ball hole opening on the weight distribution head.

On the underside of the head, you place on the lock washer followed by the nut. Then again, according to the instructions that come with it, you want to get it torqued down properly. That's going to do it for today's look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems.

The hitch is great! I installed the FA92-00-0600 on my 2014 Acura MDX to pull my 2019 Geo Pro 19BH camper. It is night and day between the old and new hitch. Way less bounce and herky jerky when starting and stopping. Really pleased with the hitch. Installation was straight forward though it took a bit of time to dial in just right. You also need some big wrenches for sure. I also bought the ALL643216 socket to attach the EQ91-00-6100 hitch ball. The packaging left something to be desired. Part of the box was falling apart and things fell out of the box when I moved it off my doorstep. The hitch is almost 100 lbs so I'm not totally surprised, but this could be improved for sure. 656180

This hitch is very simple to set up and take down while travelling. Drove home with our new 27 foot TT in high wind through the Columbia River Gorge with no problem. My shipment of 3 boxes was delayed because of Midwest storms and I was concerned of the arrival. etrailer customer service was exceptional by their concern and devotion to keeping me updated of the arrivals of all 3 packages. Great item and company transaction. 589502

I've put a little over 4000 miles on the hitch and hitch ball that eTrailer recommended. It tows like a dream and is easy to use. Far better than the ride before weight distribution and it was eTrailer that finally got me into the right solution after several other companies talked me into buying the wrong thing. They've earned my trust. 321946

  • Leveling and Weight Distribution for a Truck with Camper Pulling a Trailer
Prior to purchase, I want to recommend a few things to double check before purchasing your kit. First, you'll check with your trailer manufacturer to be sure that your trailer is approved for use with a weight distribution system. Some trailers, especially aluminum ones, can be too weak to stand up against the forces applied by a distribution system and can fail. You'll also verify that your extension and hitch are rated for use with weight distribution systems. Next, you'll...

  • Compatibility of Fastway e2 600 lb with 2020 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 224
Yes. The 2020 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 224BH has a dry hitch weight of 440 lbs. Once loaded based on the current weights you will likely be under 600 lbs, so the Fastway e2 # FA94-00-0600 is a great option and if you want more ground clearance use # FA92-00-0600 instead for the trunnion bars. Either use 2 inch ball # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16 inch ball # EQ91-00-6100 along with the thin-walled socket # ALL643216.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2018 Prime Time ATI Avenger Trailer
When picking out a weight distribution system it is important to determine your total tongue weight, which is the loaded tongue weight of the trailer plus any additional cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of your Silverado. Ideally this number falls comfortably within the operating range for the system you choose. If the 658 pound tongue weight you mentioned is with the trailer loaded I recommend taking a look at the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System # FA92-00-1000. The...

In order to setup your 2016 Ford F-150 XLT for towing the Keystone Outback Ultra-lite 260UML you will need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, and brake controller. These will be all that is required but I would also recommend a weight distribution system as well to both help with vehicle sag and potential trailer sway issues. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13118 which is a custom fit because it has a hidden cross tube (see photo). For...

  • Choosing Between Two Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Systems
If your trailer's loaded tongue weight ends up at around 600 pounds I recommend going with the higher rated Fastway e2, part # FA92-00-0800. For one, if you go over the rated tongue weight the weight distribution system will not be able to do its job. Also, with weight distribution the amount of weight you have stored behind the tow vehicle's rear axle acts as tongue weight on the hitch. So this needs to be added to the loaded trailer's tongue weight and if you're already at 600 pounds...

I have great news for you. We have several weight distribution systems available that can be used on both trucks and suvs. The reason for this is because a weight distribution system is based off of the trailer rather than the tow vehicle. I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0800 which is rated for a tongue weight range of 400 - 800 lbs. That said, if you decide to tow an even heavier trailer with your truck for example you can purchase another set of spring...
