Video Transcript for Draw-Tite 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball Review

What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Draw-Tite Ball Mount ball. So this is gonna go onto your ball mount. It's gonna be a two and 5/16-inch. Let's check it out. All right, so you've already bought your ball mount, you're gonna have to get a ball separately in most cases.

So make sure you check your coupler on your trailer. It's gonna be a two and 5/16-inch ball, so that's gonna line up with the trailer we want to use. Now, you'll also want to check out and make sure you get the right diameter here on the shank. This is gonna be a one-inch diameter on the ball mount we're using today. So it's gonna fit in there just fine.

We drop that in place. It's gonna come with the lock nut, and the regular nut. Got the flat side, so it's easy to help tight down. Now I'm just gonna do it by hand today, because you wanna make sure that you torque this down the right specifications when you set yours up. But this also has the flats on the side for a wrench to help get this really tight.

Because you don't want it to go anywhere when you're going tow a trailer. The ball's gonna being made out of stainless steel, so you don't have to worry about leaving it out. If you leave it on the hitch all the time, the elements aren't gonna bother it. It will get scratched up a little bit when you put it in a coupler, but that's just usually what happens as you use these. With that being said, that's about it.

It's gonna be a good choice, if that's the size ball and the shank diameter you need for your ball mount and your trailer set up, it's gonna work great. I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and hope this helped.

The products look wonderful and the price, service on the phone when ordering was exceptional. I tried a local trailer guy on Grand Rapids and got no place and wasted 15 minutes on the phone.

by:

This stainless ball will not rust and the trailer hitches up smoothly. I'm very happy with it

by:

Awesome and will never rust! As described and looks good mounted on my Diversitec aluminum receiver! Fast shipping. If you have a custom truck. Stainless is the way to go!

by:

Ball was great hitch was well made but very sloppy on the receiver

by:

Finally, no more rusty pant legs after I accidentally bump into the hitch ball! Definitely worth the extra $$ for a stainless version.

by:

Ordering this product was easy and described perfectly. As of yet, I have not installed the ball. I must find the proper torque for use. I do find your product smooth and well made. I am sure I will have no problem with the ball.

by:

Emily, I believe you helped me with all my purchases. Thx for your knowledge and getting my orders complete.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for. etrailer experience was very positive. They shipped the part faster than expected, quality was great and price was competitive. Great experience.

by:

Solid ball. Shipped fast and no installation issues.

by:

Good quality ... what more can you say about a hitch ball?

by:

Still in great working order. No problems with it.

by:

Works as expected, high quality product

by:

Very high quality, fair price, ultra fast delivery, thanks

by:

Installation took longer than I expected but not due to etrailer parts quality. Without a helper ended up using scrap lumber to support the hitch under the car during installation. Added my own grounding point for the electrical installation. Torquing the ball to 160 foot-pounds was difficult for me. Am happy with results after several hours. eTrailer support and parts were excellent.

by:

I wasn't sure which hitch ball to get but I called and Paula was super helpful with me. I told her which bumper I was getting but didn't which hitch ball to get. I'm not a truck guy, in fact, I'm not a fan but this is supposed to be a gift for my son to his truck so I wanted it to be perfect and Paula was great she added it to my order for me. Once I got the bumper on, the hitch ball went perfect right after. Definitely worth the purchase and my son's truck looks so much better now.

by:

Yes the trailer, ball hitch and battery you installed worked great. It has served us well and you did a great job.

by:

One year later and still happy with product and support available from etrailer.com! I use this to tow a pop-up to/from track days with my Camaro.

Hitch ball worked great for the hitch we put on our 2008 Pontiac vibe.

  • Will the Curt Hitch # 13456 fit a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Super Charged with a 19 Spare
I contacted my tech contact at Curt and unfortunately the Curt Hitch for a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport # 13456 will not work on your vehicle with a full size spare tire. However, if you remove the tire, this hitch will work with your super charged edition. If you plan on doing some towing with your vehicle, I recommend adding a ball mount, hitch ball, and trailer wiring. The recommended ball mount is # 2753, and you can use hitch ball # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 63853...

  • What Size Locking Hitch Pin Does Flash Solid Aluminum Ball Mount DTBM5200 Use
The hitch pin hole of the ball mount is the standard 5/8" and the ball mount fits a 2" hitch receiver so any 2" hitch receiver lock or pin with clip will work with the Flash Solid Ball Mount part # DTBM5200. The etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # e98882 will work well because it is stainless steel to resist corrosion. The # DTBM5200 ball mount that you referenced has a ball hole shank diameter of 1-1/4", so you can use part # A-90 for a 2" ball or part # 63836 for a 2-5/16"...

  • What is Needed to Tow Safely With a 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE?
Happy to see that safety is important enough that you'd ask, and the answer is no, you do not need any additional equipment such as engine coolant in order to tow safely with your 2011 Toyota Sienna. Now, that does not necessarily mean something like a transmission cooler is a bad idea, as it will stop your Sienna from working quite so hard, but it is not necessary. What you will need, however, is a hitch, and the Curt # C13105 has a 2" x 2" opening with a max tongue weight of 350 lbs...

  • How to Eliminate Sag in Rear Suspension of 2008 Toyota Highlander Caused By Towing Boat Trailer
The # CSS-1145R Coil Sumo Springs you'd looked at would be an economical solution that would improve the rear end suspension sag you're experiencing, but might not remove all the sag depending on the trailer's tongue weight. Since you state that you don't have any other towing problems, this alternative might suffice for you. This being said, having the ride height compressed in the back causes a few effects you might not have considered. When the rear suspension is compressed by more...

  • Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Hitch Ball, and Wiring Recommendations for a 2010 Subaru Forester
We gauge difficulty of installing a trailer hitch by how long it takes (on average for the every day do-it-yourselfer) to perform the installation. We rate each of the 2 inch hitches for the 2010 Subaru Forester a 4 out of 10, meaning it will take about 40 minutes. All of the 2 inch hitches will require temporary lowering of the exhaust and the widening of a few holes on the frame using a drill (no new holes need to be drilled) to install the hitch. You will also need to fishwire some...

  • Can a Trailer Hitch Be Detected by the Back Up Sensors on a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid
The available hitches for your 2009 Ford Escape will all extend a little beyond the bumper, but not by much; only about 1 inch. What you can do to test the sensors ahead of time is to place something that extends about 1 inch from the bumper where the hitch would be. If the sensors pick it up, then there is a possibility they will sense the hitch. I would think it is unlikely since the distance is only 1 inch and a steep angle up to the sensors. Even if the hitch did trip the sensors...

  • Hitch for Towing 7500 lb Travel Trailer With 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500
I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C59UR which because of its 10000 lb towing and 1000 lb tongue weight capacity, it'll have plenty of capacity for the travel trailer you mentioned. To add a 7-way/4-pole trailer connector, I'd recommend the Hopkins # HM40975. For a ball mount, I'd go with # D-4, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, part # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball or # 63853 for a 2-5/16 inch ball. I've linked to install videos for the hitch and the trailer wiring harness.

Yes the DrawTite Hitch, # 75236, will fit the 2009 Toyota Tacoma pickup except for the X-runner model. This hitch has a weight carrying capacity of 5000 pounds maximum and 500 pounds tongue weight. If you have a weight distribution system on your vehicle then the capacity is 5500 pounds loaded trailer weight and 550 pounds tongue weight.
