  • Why are There Different Hitch Fits for the 2015 Jetta SE and TDI
The undersides of the two vehicles you referenced are different enough to need a different hitch for the SE and TDI models of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. If you look at the two pictures I attached you will see that there are quite a few differences. Especially on the passenger side. Since you have a non-TDI the only hitch I can recommend for you is the # C11474 which I attached an install video link for. For trailer wiring you would then want the part # 118572 which I attached an...

  • Availability of 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball With a 1/2 Inch Diameter Shank
We can get you pretty close. The closest thing we offer would be the # CB10Z ball from CR Brophy that is a 1-7/8 inch ball with a 5/8 inch shank. If it's possible to enlarge that eye from 1/2 inch to 5/8, I'd recommend going that route. Since you'd only be increasing the hole size by about an 1/8 of an inch, you wouldn't need to worry about removing too much material from the pull bar.

  • How to Install Curt Trailer Hitch Ball 40001 in a Ball Mount
To install hitch ball # C40001 you will need a wrench wide enough to fit around the wrench flats on the ball, a torque wrench good for up to 160 foot pounds and a socket for the nut. You could also use a bench vise if you do not have a wrench large enough. You can also put the ball mount in the hitch receiver side ways and then use the wrench and torque wrench to tighten it. If you do not have a torque wrench or socket large enough, many auto parts stores can loan out tools.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled Curt ball # C40001 to measure it for you. The height of the ball from the ball mount platform to the top of the ball is 2.619 inches which is just a hair under 2-5/8 inches.

  • Hitch Ball Option for a Trailer with a 1-3/4 inch Hitch Ball Coupler
We do not carry any 1-3/4 inch hitch balls. The only option I could recommend for you would be to upgrade the coupler on your trailer to work with the modern ball sizes of 1-7/8, 2, or 2-5/16 inch balls. I attached a page that has all of the couplers we offer plus a page that has all of the hitch balls we carry. I would recommend you check out the couplers and find one that will fit your trailer style and has enough capacity and then find a ball designed to fit that coupler that is also...

  • Are Threads On Hitch Balls From Different Manufacturers The Same
I went to the warehouse and pulled hitch balls with a 3/4 inch shank and 1 inch shank made by Curt and Tow-Ready and Reese to compare the threads. The nuts are interchangeable between the 3/4 inch shank hitch balls as well as the 1 inch hitch balls, so if you are using a Curt hitch ball, you can use a nut from a Tow-ready, or Reese hitch ball with the same size shank with no problem.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2018 Hyundai Tucson Sel Plus
When we research towing capacities we base it off of what the owner's manual says but for some unknown reason there are no online manuals available for a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. I did take a look at the Hyundai website and as you said it listed the SEL Plus as having a 2,000 lb towing capacity as opposed to the 1,500 lb capacity of the SE and SEL; however, it looks like the SEL Plus only has some interior features differentiating it from the SE and SEL so it would not make sense for the capacity...

Since there isn't a plug and play option for your 2004 BMW 325xi Sedan, the best option and the one I recommend is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. What sets this harness apart from others is that it uses sensors that clamp onto your vehicle's tail light wires to sense the current and transfer it back to the trailer connector. This means you don't have to worry about any potential issues caused by cutting or splicing into your BMW's factory wiring. The built...
