Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Curt pop-in three inch ball for the Chevy, GM, Ford, Nissan, and Ram under-bed gooseneck hitches. Has a 38,000 pound weight capacity. Now this hitch ball is designed for use with your factory installed under bed gooseneck hitch. Again, it is designed to fit the Chevy, Ford, GM, Nissan, and the Ram trucks that have the OEM truck bed puck system.This pop-in ball will fit securely in the hitch, and it's very easy to insert and remove. Uses this built-in ball-bearing system here, which hold the ball in place in the receiver.
And the level right up at the top here, this integrated lever, will release the ball for removal after just a quarter of a turn. So you can see right now the balls are locked into place. So if you flip up on this lever, turn out a quarter of a turn, you can see it releases those balls, allows you to pull this right out of the hitch. And then when you go to install it, just lift it up and turn it and drop it into place. Once it's in there, push that down and it locks it in.It is a machine Ford steel alloy, it's very strong and durable.
You can see it as a nice polished chrome plating to it, which is corrosion resistant and gives it a nice, attractive, neater finish. Now this ball does meet the USVESCV-19 specifications. Again, the ball size or diameter is three inches. Gross towing weight capacity, which will be stamped right here on the bottom is 38,000 pounds. The vertical load limit is 9,500 pounds.Now, one note you do want to remember is that the capacity will always be limited to that of your vehicle.
A few measurements on this. Overall height bottom to the very top is eight and a quarter inches. The installed height, which would be from here up to the top is going to be right at five and a half inches. Works as it should. However if I didn’t already have the stock receiver I would have put a turnover ball gooseneck on the truck. My old F-250 had a B&W turnover ball gooseneck in it and it was great. Didn’t have to store the ball someplace or clean out the hole ever time I need to put in the ball.

Chrome pealed off first times used where contacted with trailer. It raised the hitch up just the correct amount so I did not have weld or cut holes in tongue to gain proper clearance over Ford F450 bed.

I don't write reviews, but this time I am. I am totally pleased in my dealings with etrailer in all respects. The friendliness of Katrina B. And the feedback of George J. product was delivered on time and quickly compared to other companies. I bought the C60601 25/16" ball and the C60608 chain anchors for my '17 f350 King Ranch. If you got the picture I have put them in a water proof hard case so they won'the rattle. The case can't weigh more than 3# and the whole thing weighs 19.5 lbs. They are good looking and heavy duty pieces of equipment and would cost about 21/2 times that much at the dealership. I will use them for my 24ft gooseneck in hauling my tractors and hay on occasion. I have only used it once but everything worked perfectly. It was very simple to attach and seemed very solid when pulling. I have only used a 5th wheel receiver in the past and the gooseneck seems to have much more range of motion

The C60629 gooseneck ball did not work with the DEMCO RECON fifthwheel hitch in my 2020 GMC 2500HD pickup. However upon talking with reps from your company I was able to order a different ball C60601 designed for Ford and GM trucks and it works fine with my new hitch, part no. DM8550045. The first ball considered a "high rise" type was about an inch longer than the replacement (C60601) and the middle collar much thicker than the replacement ball. Everyone at etrailer was very helpful and I received my orders promptly. Thank you so much! I am impressed with your professionalism and very prompt and friendly service.
