Note: Ford OEM hitches have a tighter/different radius on their 2-1/2 inch receiver tubes. To accommodate the OEM Ford 2-1/2 inch hitch, the corners of a ball mount, shank or reducer sleeve may need to be sanded down to slide into the hitch. Do not remove any more material than necessary. Simply removing the paint or powder-coat is often sufficient. Never use a grinder to knock-down the corners, which may remove too much material and will also heat the accessory and could compromise the product's structural integrity. This is especially the case with cast accessories like larger weight distribution shanks.

My newer Chevy K3500 has a 2 1/2 inch square receiver so I was able too get rid of my 2" ball mount that was almost too heavy to lift and replace it with a new Reese tri- ball mount with a 14,000 lb Gross towing capacity and weighs less than 12 pounds. Thanks to Cathy H. and Chris W. at etrailer.com for finding the right equipment for my needs.

Just as described. Quality. This is a back up hitch for me. Used it once. serves the purpose. etrailer had this in stock and got it to me quickly. I was surprised how hard it was to find one like this (straight) I couldn't find one in stores.

Upgraded my truck which now has a 2.5" receiver instead of 2" receiver. Works great. Not sure I need tri-ball anymore. See no 1 7/8" balls, and very few 2" balls. But still some horse trailers with 2" balls. Also needed to buy a longers pin for the @.5" receiver.

Purchased ball mount and realized it would not fit a Ford Factory Super Duty Hitch after the fact. I was told that Ford Manufactured their 2-1/2" receivers a bit smaller than standard. I then purchased a Reese Titan Class V hitch and replaced the Ford factory hitch. The tri ball mount will not fit the Reese Titan receiver either.

Despite some of the conflicting reports on here about the Reese Tri-ball Titan Hitch fitting 2011 and up Super Dutys I took a gamble and it payed off. It fits my 2012 Super Duty with no issue. I didn't have to grind the corners or take the sticker off or remove any paint. Thanks for the great customer service and answering my questions.

I LIKE IT! Instructions indicated that if using in a FORD receiver that some paint removal and perhaps a bit of grinding may be required. That is true. I periodically grease the shaft and a bit of persuasion is required to install and remove it as it is quite snug. Snug suits me just fine as there is No rattling ,AND.. nobody without a bar or hammer is going to steal it. I use this on my FORD 350 diesel and pull 14,000 lbs regularly.

Ordered the 14K Reese Tri-Ball Mount online and received exactly what was ordered in a timely manor. Note for those who read the reviews as i do to help determine what to order, the 2-1/2" Reese Mount fit my 2015 Ford receiver perfect.

The hitch fit my 2006 Ford F550 perfectly. I have a commercial receiver and the drawbar slid in with no issues. Nice and tight with no rattle. I have a variety of trailers with different ball sizes and there have been no issues using any of the ball sizes on the hitch. Along with the pin and clip that I ordered, the assembly makes a nice convenient package for my towing needs. Service was fast and the representatives were very helpful. I would recommend this for anyone having a 2 1/2 inch receiver and the need of multiple trailer ball sizes.

Good solid hitch, no issues. Use it for hauling dump trailer, roughly 8-10k when loaded. Never given me any problems

I recently purchased a tri ball hitch and the ordering process online was very easy to navigate and the shipping time was very quick. I am pleased with my decision to buy from etrailer.

- 45325
by:

Product was exactly as described. Very heavy duty. Paint did not last long as it needed repainted after 2 months but would still recommend this triball.

Couldn't believe product was actually manufactured by Reese. I had to bevel the leading edge with a bench grinder, grease both the the receiver and hitch, then drive it in with a 5 pound sledge. Then the pin holes didn't align properly to the receiver. When one hole was aligned, the one on the opposite side was off slightly in a vertical plane. So I also had to drive the pin in with the sledge. When I remove it, a similar process will be required. My vehicle is a 2013 F250 and another class 5 hitch I have fits perfectly.

I recently upgraded from a 2005 to a 2011 GMC 2500HD and found out that the receiver for this year is 2.5 inches. I found this Reese Tri-Mount on etrailer for the right price and it arrived after only 2 business days. I haven't towed with it yet but the fit and finish is top notch and the height is perfect. My truck still has the stock 265/70 17s. I also purchased the extra long receiver Deadbolt hitch pin that locks. It fits perfect and I now don't have to worry about someone stealing the hitch. Customer service at etrailer is the best of any online retailer that I have purchased from, very impressive.

I know i read alot of the reveiws before buying this receiver. Every one said that would not fit ford factory installed hitch. I measured and it does fit my 2012 f 350. Great hitch

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2014 Jayco Eagle 314TSBH
I looked up your 2014 Jayco Eagle 314TSBH and it has an unloaded tongue weight of 906 lbs so you'd want a higher capacity weight distribution than a 1,000 lb tongue weight setup. Also when it's unloaded the trailer weighs right at 8,000 lbs and can weight up to 10,750 lbs when full loaded so you'd be looking at a tongue weight of most likely around 1,100 lbs or more. Ideally the trailer's tongue weight falls right into the middle of the range of the system. So for that the Reese Steadi...

  • What Size Hitch Ball Does Coupler of 2011 Forest River Roo 21SS Take
I did some checking and it looks like your 2011 Forest River Roo 21SS has a coupler on it designed for a 2 inch ball. That said, someone could have replaced the coupler with a different size as that's not uncommon so what you can do is go out and look at the coupler on your trailer and you'll see the size stamped on it. The Reese Tri-Ball part # 45325 that you referenced has these two sizes plus a 1-7/8 inch ball.

  • Why Does the Reese Tri-Ball Mount # 45325 Hard to Fit in Factory Ford Hitch
The issue you are running into is that the Ford 2-1/2 inch hitches have unpredictable radiuses on the corners of the hitch opening. It's only on their 2-1/2 inch hitches, but the corners of the hitch opening on some factory Ford hitches end up so round that square shank accessories don't like to easily fit. The solution is to try and remove the powder coat on the shank of the accessory to allow it to install easier. We thought they had gotten better with their more recent 2-1/2 inch...

  • Hitch Ball Needed to Tow a 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 19RD
I was able to look up a manual online for your 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 19RD and it said (on page 3-7) that depending on your model your coupler will either need a 2" or a 2-5/16" hitch ball. I recommend using a multi hitch ball like the straight # 45325 or the adjustable # BWTS10049B. Both of these include a 1-7/8", 2", and a 2-5/16" hitch ball which will come in handy for various towing applications. You also need a hitch pin & clip # PC3 or a locking hitch pin like part # 63232 to secure...

  • Which Trailer Ball Size for 27 Foot Long Travel Trailer
A trailer of the size you mention would either use a 2 inch or a 2-5/16 inch ball. A 2 inch ball can have a capacity up to 8000 lbs, while the capacity of a 2-5/16 inch ball can range between 6,000 and 30,000 lbs. The 2-5/16 inch ball would be more likely, but I couldn't say for sure without knowing the weight of the trailer. Using a tri-ball mount like the # 45325 you referenced might be your best bet. The required ball size should be stamped into the metal on the trailer coupler.

  • Would Reese Tri Ball part # 45325 Work For Towing 7,900 lb Trailer
The Reese Tri Ball Mount part # 45325 has more than enough capacity for a 7,900 lb trailer as long as the trailer uses a 2 inch or 2-5/16 inch ball (it will). The capacity for the 2 inch ball is 10k and the capacity for the 2-5/16 inch ball is 14k. This ball mount also has zero rise or drop. For it to be ideal for your setup the height of the hitch from the top of the opening to the ground would need to be the same as from the bottom of the coupler to the ground on the trailer when it's...

  • How To Determine Ball Mount and Ball Size To Tow 2003 Thor Citation
The size of the ball that you need to tow your 2003 Thor Citation Travel Trailer is determined by what size coupler is on the trailer. More than likely you will need a 2" or 2-5/16" ball. The required ball size should be stamped onto the coupler. Another thing to take into consideration is the rise or drop that may be needed to tow the travel trailer level with your vehicle. I recommend to use an adjustable ball mount EZ Hitch Adjustable part # AM3290 which features a 2" ball and 2-5/16"...

  • Why Do Ford 2-1/2 inch Hitches Have Fit Issues with Aftermarket Hitch Accessories
For whatever reason the Ford 2-1/2 inch receiver hitches have round corners that do not allow most aftermarket hitch accessories to work. Since you said your hitch is 100 percent custom I do not believe this will be a problem for you since this issue is isolated to only Ford hitches. The Reese Tri-Ball Mount # 45325 should work well for you, I attached a review for this product for you to check out also.

  • Availability of Tri-Ball Mount for 2-1/2 inch Hitch that is Steel
We have the Reese Tri-Ball part # 45325 which is a fit for 2-1/2 inch hitches, has all three hitch ball sizes, and has a 14k capacity when used with the 2-5/16 inch ball. It has a hollow shank but it's still very heavy duty. If they made a solid steel shank in this configuration it would weigh more than anyone would want to deal with.

  • How To Prevent Trailer Theft Beyond Hitch and Coupler Locks
One easy way to prevent someone from removing the ball would be to use a ball mount that has the ball attached (welded) to the shank. That way you won't have to weld a ball to a shank that isn't meant for that type of modification. Some examples include # 45325 or something adjustable that locks like # DTALBM6600. A Wheel lock such as # RA-25 would also be a good idea. The trailer would not be able to be moved with a wheel lock like this on it. And the ball mount/ball may be enough...
