Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Patriot Hitches five-way three-ball mount for 2 1/2 inch trailer hitches, 30,000 pounds rated capacity, and a blue accent finish. A ball mount will let you hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle, and the shank will slide into, in this case, a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch receiver hitch. Now the hitch balls, you have a 2 5/16, a two inch, and a 1 7/8. Those will be your connection points for your standard ball couplers. And with this unit, you have a pintle hook attachment lock, a mechanism here.
So you put your lunette ring down, then you put this guy on here. It's gonna fit 2 1/2 to 3 inch lunette ring couplers as far as fitment. You also have a nice heavy duty D-ring here, with the blue plastic insert to help protect your straps and chains. This is gonna be great for off-roading and recovery uses and such. Everything here is the nice black, heavy-duty texture powder-coat finish over a heavy-duty carbon steel construction that's been made to meet that 30,000 pound towing capacity and 2,000 pound tongue capacity.
Overall dimensions, I got 12 inches long, I got 6 1/4 inches from the steering of this hitch pin hole back to the back. I got 3 1/2 inches from the center of this hitch pin hole to the back, and I got two inches from the center of this hitch pin hole to the back. As far as the width, I got 7 5/8 inches wide. And on the height, I just went from the back of this, or the bottom of this square block here, up to the top of the 2 5/16 inch ball, and I got that same measurement, 7 5/8. Everything here meets the SAE J684 safety regulations for towing.
