Tow up to 12,000 lbs safely and conveniently, and get up to a 6-1/4" drop or a 7-7/8" rise with this MaxxTow ball mount system. Turn the ball mount over to select a drop or a rise. After the ball mount has been installed on your vehicle, just pull the included pins to adjust the ball platform up or down or to flip the ball platform between the 2" or 2-5/16" hitch balls as needed. Replace the pins, and you're ready to tow. The ball mount fits 2" square trailer hitches and is a great solution for those who tow several different trailers.

Keeping your trailer level with your tow vehicle makes it easier and safer to tow. If your trailer is more than 2" nose up, it may sway while being towed - increasing tire wear and making your ride less comfortable. Lots of sway makes it harder to drive your vehicle. If the trailer is more than 2" nose down, the load may put too much weight on the hitch and tow vehicle, exceeding the weight limit for both. This puts stress on the connection between your trailer and hitch and may not leave enough weight on your front wheels, affecting your ability to steer and brake properly. An adjustable ball mount system makes it easy to keep whatever you tow as level as possible.

MaxxTow Adjustable 2 ball mt hitch. First, let me say that the ball hit and the hitch locks were delayed in shipping due to production delays. I want to thank Pat C. in customer service for providing me a running account of when the product was made and shipped right up to delivery of the hitch. Thank you Pat. Now for the hitch, the pricing of the hitch is very fair. Compared to comparable hitches, I saved at least 50$ on the hitch with no apparent downgrade in the equipment. So I got the hitch well-packaged. Everything was included that i had ordered. Next was the product to truck install. That went easy. Fit and finish was good for a Chinese made product and they certainly didn't skimp on the steel. The ball mount looks classy and it looks like it will be rugged and dependable. I guess we won't know until it is put to the test. That will be happening soon. I expect it will perform as other reviewers had indicated. 220976

Follow-up review. Still An EXCELLENT product. No apparent problems and the hitch still looks good. Thanks.

This adjustable trailer hitch is solid and heavy duty. I haven't used it yet on a trailer, but it does appear to have a little slop in the reversible ball. The cotter pins seem way too long for this hitch, but are of good quality. I would definitely recommend this to others. 637157

I bought this product 6 months ago and no complaints so far! The product is one of the few mounts I could find that was rated for the weight. The construction seems excellent; very heavy duty (emphasis on the heavy!). I use it with my bumper pull horse trailer and it seems to do the job beautifully. I have only used the 2" end so far, but I like that I have a 2 5/16" ball available at all times, since that size is utilized frequently for larger bumper pull horse trailers. And of course, the adjustability factor is great. I switched out two of the three pins for locking pins to (hopefully) ensure no one walks off with it. My only criticism is the silver finish seems to scratch easily on the balls. So far, it's been nothing but a very minor cosmetic issue, but it makes me wonder if rusting will be a problem in the future. 355164

Ask the Experts about this MaxxTow Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

  • How To Tow A Trailer Without Measuring for Rise/Drop
The only true way to determine what ball mount you need is to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube on the vehicle and then subtract the difference from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer while level. However, if you do not have access to the trailer then the best option for you is an adjustable ball mount as this will not only more than likely allow you to tow your boat trailer level without measuring beforehand but will also accommodate...

  • Pin Hole to Weld Dimension on Curt Adjustable Ballmount # C45900
I was able to go out to the warehouse and measure the Curt Channel Adjustable Ballmount # C45900 for you and found that the distance from the center of the furthest hitch pin hole to the welded part of the bar is 3-3/4 inches. The distance from the closer center of the hitch pin hole to that same weld spot is 2-3/4 inches. I also measured from the center of the hitch pin holes to the back of the adjustable bracket in case you meant that measurement. This was 6-3/4 and 5-3/4 inches....

  • How Much Ground Clearance Is Needed With the MaxxTow Adjustable 2-Ball Mount
When choosing a ball mount, you will want to select one that has the correct amount of rise/drop needed for you to tow your trailer level. If you choose one that has more drop than what you need then you run the risk of the ball mount making contact with the ground over bumps and dips in the road. I don't have any sort of minimum clearance measurement between the bottom of the ball mount and ground but the 10" you have seems pretty low. Therefore, if you are not using the MaxxTow Adjustable...

Best option would be to contact the dealer selling the trailer and ask them to get that figure for you. If you want to be sure you have the correct hitch ball on hand, I recommend the MaxxTow Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 6-1/4" Drop, 7-7/8" Rise - 12K # MT70380 which has both hitch ball sizes and will give you adjustability to tow level.
