Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Gen Y Torsion two ball mount with stacked receivers. Now this shock absorbing adjustable ball mount is going to slide into your 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver, and it's going to give you six stacked two inch receiver. So you can hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle with the included two inch or 2 5/16 inch hitch ball. Or you could tow a trailer that has a lunette ring and use it on the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball paired with the included pintle lock. And let me go ahead and give you a brief demonstration of how that works.
So you can only use the lunette ring with the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, and you can just drop that lunette ring over the ball. And then with this pintle lock here, you're just going to remove the clip and the pin, and then just bring this out like so. And then that will secure that lunette ring over the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball. And then of course you can adjust the pintle lock along with the ball depending on the height that you're looking for. The rise of the rise of the drop, whichever stacked receiver is going to work best for you.
And then when you're ready to remove the lunette ring, again, you'll just remove the clip and the pin, and you can push that back in, or you could remove the pin to lock altogether. And then you can go ahead and use this 2 5/16 inch hitch ball in a standard coupler. So it's going to be very easy to swap that out. And it's a nice feature the Gen Y includes with this. So you got one, two, three, four, five, six stacked two inch receivers, and this is going to give you a gross towing weight of 16,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 1700 pounds.
And overall this is going to give you a maximum drop of about 10 inches. And the shock absorbing design is going to function very similar to a torsion axle. Built into Gen Ys mount are tubes with inner bars that are surrounded by rubber cords. Now I do happen to have a cutaway here just so you can get a better idea of what's going on inside of here. So as the receivers rise or fall, these inner bars are going to twist inside of the tubes, attempting to follow the motion of the shank and the rubber cords that hopefully you can see there.
They're going to prevent the bars from twisting too far. And as each bar turns, these cords are going to compress to absorb that shock. So what that means is that any shock experienced by your truck can be absorbed before it reaches your trailer and the shock that's experienced by your trailer won't get transferred to your truck. What's really nice about a system like this is it's very easy to maintain. You're just going to regularly apply grease to the built-in zerks, and you probably won't be able to see it from that angle. But you're gonna have one grease zerk here at the top and then one here at the bottom. So very easy to access. And you're not gonna have to worry about airbags. If you have enough air in the airbags, you're not gonna have to worry about small parts to replace or repair. So this is gonna give you virtually no hassle. Now our hitch pin holes over here, they are 5/8 of an inch in diameter. I do wanna point out that a hitch pin and clip are not included with this, so if you do not already have something that's compatible, you will have to pick that up. However, this is really an investment that you're making getting amount like this. So I would recommend checking out our hitch lock options here at etrailer.com. Just some measurements for you. The overall height from top to bottom is about almost 16 inches. Technically, I believe it's about 15 11/16 inches tall. And then some other measurements that might prove helpful for you. I want to give you, first of all the measurement or the distance rather from the center of the first hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, that's gonna be pretty close to 15 7/8 inches long. And then the distance from the center of what I'm calling the second hitch pin hole, to the center of the ball is just right at about 16 7/8 inches. And then another measurement that you might be interested in from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank is about 2 7/8 inches. This is made here in the USA of heavy duty steel with a zinc primer and epoxy powder coat that's gonna help resist rust and corrosion. As you probably know, Gen Y has a great reputation for building very solid, very robust products. And really another term that's been used with Gen Y products is they're overbuilt. So they're going to be able to take the punishment that you give it and you're not gonna have to worry about this only lasting you a few years. This is going to give you many, many, many faithful years of good service. And this is going to be just like Gen Y's other products that they're just built and designed very well, very robust. One final thing I wanted to mention is this is SAE-J684 certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
