Specs:
This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 6 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.
Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.
With the 6 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. This heavy-duty mount is built with a 3,000-lb tongue weight, so you can even use multiple hitch accessories at the same time, as long as there are no clearance issues.
Because this mount has such a significant drop, a stabilizer kit is included to prevent any wobble and to keep the mount stable and sturdy as you tow. Simply bolt or weld the brackets onto your truck's frame, and connect the stabilizer bars to the back of the Gen-Y mount. The stabilizer bars can easily be adjusted to span the distance between your vehicle's frame and the Gen-Y ball mount.
If you remove the mount from your hitch, the stabilizer bars can be disconnected from the brackets using the included pins and clips so that you can remove the bars from your vehicle as well.

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y adjustable 2-ball mount with the pintle lock and the stabilizer kit for a 2 and 1/2 inch hitch. Has a 21,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is an adjustable ball mount that'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. This shank right here, will slide into a 2 and 1/2 inch hitch receiver on your vehicle.
And then up front you'll have either a 2 5/16 diameter ball or a 2 inch diameter ball to provide the connection points for your trailer coupler. Now, this part here includes this pintle lock accessory. When this is paired with the larger 2 5/16 diameter ball, it'll provide a connection point for a lunette ring coupler. And a lunette ring coupler is the large, heavy duty couplers that have the large lunette ring on the front. And they're made to just drop over the ball, but you do wanna make sure they stay on the ball.
So that's why they include this pintle lock accessory. And what you'll do with that is just pop the pin and clip, slide this back out of the way, drop your lunette ring over that. Once it gets over that, then just push your pintle lock over that, and then you'll line up your hole, put your pin and clip on, and that'll lock it over the lunette ring. So it keeps it from going off. I just wanted to pop up an insert to show you.
There's an example of a lunette ring coupler hooked to this type of ball mount. And you can see that pintle lock over it to hold that into place. And then if you don't want to use it, if you're not using it for a lunette ring and you just wanna use it on a regular trailer coupler, what you can do is take out your pinning clip, slide it back to the other hole, and that'll lock it in the storage. So you don't lose the pintle lock, and it'll keep it there, but it's out of the way. You can still use a regular coupler.
Now because this Mount has such a significant drop of 15 inches, this stabilizer kit right here is included to prevent any wobble and keeps the mount stable and sturdy as you tow. Basically, what you'll do, you'll see on the end of these, right here, these stabilizer bars, they have brackets. And these brackets will go up. And what they'll do is they'll bolt or weld on to the truck's frame, and it connects the stabilizer to the back. And then you can see it's connected to the backup Gen Y Mount pinned into place. So that'll help stabilize since it's such a big drop, keeps any movement from happening. And these can be adjusted. So these bars can easily adjust at the span, the distance between your vehicle's frame and the Gen Y bulb mount. The other nice thing about it is if you happen to remove this mount from your hitch, these stabilizer bars can be disconnected from the brackets using the included pins and clips. Just zoom in to show you that. You can see they use the same pin and clip over here and over here. You can just take that, take out the stabilizer, take it out of there, and you can remove your ball mount. Very simple to install or remove. Now, one thing I do wanna mention, because this has such a large 15 inch drop, this ball mount cannot be used in the rise position. Now the capacity of this ball mount will depend on the ball size you use. So if you use the larger 2 and 5/16 diameter ball, it's gonna get you a gross towing weight capacity of 21,000 pounds, maximum towing weight capacity of 3000 pounds. If you flip it over and use the smaller two inch ball, it's gonna get you a gross towing weight of 16,000 pounds, maximum towing weight of 1500 pounds. And you can see, it does have these stacked receivers. If I rotate this just a little bit, you can see it has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 different stacked, 2 1/2 inch receivers. And it'll accept the included ball mount pintle lock, as well as other Hitchmount accessories. And then it also comes with these two 5/8 inch diameter stainless steel pins and clips. This will secure the ball mount and the pintle lock to the shank. And one thing I wanted to show you is on these clips, there is a unique feature. They use a twist clip design, makes it a little easier to remove or install. But to remove it, you just twist the clip, and it comes right out, simple as that. Remove your pin, and then when you go to install it, put your pin back in, put one side of the clip in, and then as you push it, that clip will twist and lock into place. Very simple to use. I really like that feature. It's pretty nice. The adjustable height will let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. Works well if you have a lifted truck. This ball mount itself can be lowered or raised, put in any of these stacked receiver openings to match your application. As we mentioned, the maximum drop on this, if you put this ball mount in the very lowest position, gives you a maximum drop of 15 inches. And just to show you how the ball mount, you can change it. Again, take out your pin and clip, just slide out your ball mount. Flip it over if you wanna use the smaller 2 inch, and again, you can put it in any position for the height you need. I'm just gonna put it back into where we had it, and slide it in until the hole line's up. And then, get your pin to go through there, just like that. Clip it into place, and now you're ready to go with the smaller ball, simple as that. This is a heavy duty steel construction. The ball mount is a nice zinc primer and black powder coat on the ball mount, on the pintle lock accessory, and even on the stabilizer bars. And in the shank itself, has a primer. And then they use a nice durable silver vane epoxy powder coat on the shank to resist corrosion. Now when you do install this into your hit receiver, it will require a hitch pinning clip or a hitch lock for securing it to the hitch receiver. It is not included. We do sell those separately on our website. And they will use a. The hitch pit hole diameter here is 5/8 of an inch diameter. This part is SAEJ684 certified. It is made in the USA. Application again fits 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receivers. And one last note, I do wanna mention on this part, is this ball mount does have many different dimensions to it. So what I do recommend for you to do is go to the product page of this part number, and you can verify any dimension that you might need for your application. But that should do it for the review on this Gen Y adjustable two-ball mount with the pintle lock stabilizer kit for a 2 1/2 inch hitch..
