I've not towed with it yet, but it's very high quality and seems way overbuilt. I like the hammered finish and the components are very nice. Once I figured out how they work, Gen-Y's 'twisting lock pin' is easier to use than a standard cotter pin and adds some piece of mind that it's not going anywhere. Love that you can store the ball mount in front of the hitch when not using it - including sideways so that it doesn't reduce ground clearance, even when in the lowest receiver. The only thing I don't like about it - which etrailer comments on in the online item description - is that it doesn't fit very snug. Combined with the 2-1/2 to 2" reducer sleeve, there's a fair amount of play. Not sure yet if this is going to create rattling when towing (that would reduce my stars). One note: based on the Gen-Y website's method for determining the appropropriate drop for my vehicle, I should have ordered the 10" drop. I did my own measuring and ordered the 7-1/2" drop instead, which works perfectly for my 2021 RAM 3500 SRW 4x4.

Haven't used the product but I have no doubt it will do the trick. I'm a over thinking, over prep kinda guy so...if I had any doubts this was the best option, I wouldn't have purchased it. etrailer...so...I'm pretty impressed with your sales/customer support. I received very quick responses to specific "will this work with this thing?" questions....and the answers were on target AND specific. No generalities, no sales pitch BS. If my idea wasn't the best...I got an alternative, along with part numbers, pictures etc. AND...I ordered this on a Thursday afternoon, and got the part delivered the next day. FREE Wasn't next day service...just happened that way. Pretty freakin nice.

Well, Im sure the product is ok but it becamse immediately apparent it would not work for my configuration. Pretty much a waste of $300 but that was a risk I took.

Review from a similar Versa-Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Has done what it is supposed to do. I have used the hitch to tow two boats over the last two years using both ball sizes. The only issue is the appearance. Saltwater creates rust and break down of the coating on the hitch. Was never dunked in salt has been effected being near saltwater. Hitch was washed with freshwater after each use in salt. I probably wouldn’t buy again. I have seen some other hitches that can do similar adjustments that do better near saltwater environments.

Comments
Thank you for your review! Black powder coated products to tend to take a beating when it comes to salt water environments. You should be able to use a stainless steel coated ball mount that will resist salt water much better. Attached is our ion of ball mounts that have similar characteristics to this one that you have been using.

Review from a similar Versa-Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

I purchased based on the photos that show 2 pins in the hitch as the top pin holds the pintle attachment. When it arrived and was not included I was told cannot send pintle attachment and would have to pay xx to return. Said no option for pintle attachment separate. Person I spoke with even agreed it looked as if included. I have one on my other truck and love the product. I felt the advertisement was not what I received.

Review from a similar Versa-Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

The hitch is heavy and appears well-made. Paint finish is excellent. Two suggestions: the top weld could be smoothed a bit more. This is only an appearance matter, very minor. Second, hitch is supplied with two pins -- not locking. Please -- on a $250 item, the extra cost of furnishing locking pins must be small. Yet, I have locking pins already (for class III) which I assume will work fine for class Iv hardware. And any buyer can always order locking pins. I bought this to tow a U-Haul car trailer on an F150 with max tow package. Have not tried it yet.

We live on an Island in SW Florida where everyone has some sort of Hitch, mostly for Boats. After Lugging this Beauty out to our 34ft Class A Motorhome, we installed our Tow Dolly and Double Bike Rack, and everything came together. The non-rattle screws worked great on the Bike Rack. The 10in Drop leveled the Dolly Tounge just right. We are off to be Full Time RVers, never to worry about Towing again... Thanks..

Review from a similar Versa-Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

The hitch is everything I wanted and couldn’t be more pleased how it performs! The only complaint I have is when I received the hitch is that the powder coat was chipped away in two spots and down to the bare metal. I contact etrailer and was told by one of there customer service reps that it’s a common occurrence and normal to receive a hitch with scuff and chips because of the way it’s stored in the warehouse, I just hope they can improve on this on the future. The product works awesome and I couldn’t be happier for how it looks and performs on towing the many different trailers I have!

There are some great options out there for towing a vehicle behind your RV along with a bike rack, and you are heading in the right direction. You are correct that Roadmaster does not make any dual hitch adapters that allow you to use your tow bar in-line with the hitch receiver. The best option available is the Gen-Y # 325-GH-303, which is a more economical alternative to the # 325-GH-314 adapter you were looking at. If you have the Gen-Y Adjustable 2 Ball Mount # 325-GH-314 then you'll need these locks # 34061572-D. These will lock your balls to the mount and the mount to the hitch. Yes, it's not the cheapest lock but this isn't the cheapest ball mount.
