This Fastway Silent adjustable ball mount provides solid, rattle-free towing performance. A stainless steel pin, operated by the included hex tool, extends out from the shank and tightens the ball mount in your receiver.
To further eliminate any movement, a bolt in the side of the ball platform tightens the connection between the platform and the adjustment shank. As a result, you'll enjoy a quiet, rattle-free towing experience.
The ball platform is connected to the adjustment shank by the hex bolt located in the front of the platform. To change the ball height, simply loosen both the bolt in the front and the bolt in the side of the platform with the included tool. This will release the ball platform and allow you to slide it up and down. Or, you can slide the platform off and reverse it to change the ball size.

Hey everyone, it's Eve Angeline here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at our Fastway Adjustable Ball Mount. This has a chrome or stainless steel ball option and we'll take a look at its features here at etrailer.com. So this is a unique design of a ball mount because it has an anti-rattle feature. Now, when you hear anti-rattle, you usually think threaded hitch pin securing the ball mount itself. But this also has anti-rattle for the hitch balls. So you get your normal features like the two ball sizes is adjustable up and down for rise and drop.
But using an Allen key, you can tighten things down further to reduce the chucking when you're towing things around. You can get this in a 2 or 2 1/2-inch receiver size. This has a solid aluminum shank construction. This ball mount is reversible, so you have a two hitch balls, one on each side. So the 2-inch has an 8,000-pound capacity.
The other ball is gonna be a 2 5/16 hitch ball with a 10,000-pound capacity. So I currently have the smallest one, which has the 4-inch drop. We can get this in a 6, 8, or 10-inch drop. And to measure for how much drop or rise you need, check out our product description. We have a nice little graph there to explain it, but I measure from the top-inside edge of our hitch receiver to the ground and then you compare that to your coupler height.
And then that will help you figure out how much rise and drops you actually need. Whichever option you do get, they are pretty lightweight for a ball mount because those are usually extremely heavy. You might also wonder, is it as easy for people to just grab it and go Well, you do have a little bit of a security function here. See that bolt head Well, it's the design we use with the specific Allen key that comes with the ball mount. So unless they have that specific key, they cannot remove the hitch balls.
Overall, this ball mount is solid. So the shank portion, that's all a solid construction, and you don't have to worry about welds breaking. And then you have internal stainless steel bolts adding to that durability. And with it being made of aluminum with a corrosion resistance, you don't have to worry about it just rusting apart when it's outside. Now this does have a little bit of movement though when it comes to the up and down, but that can also depend on your hitch receiver. So let's take a quick look at some reasons why you might have some movement and then take it out onto the test course. This utilizes a bolt that wedges in your hitch receiver. Now for some trucks, they notice that it doesn't go all the way inside. So measuring from where that bolt comes up to the center of your hitch pinhole, that's gonna be 2 inches away. And also, make sure you get the matching shank for your hitch receiver as well as the matching hitch pin. So if you have a 2 1/2-inch receiver, don't get an adapter to use with a 2-inch. Go ahead, get the 2 1/2-inch shank, and then use the correct hitch pin. That may help reduce chucking or movement from side to side. So Fastway uses their patented anti-rattle where it tightens down the hitch balls as well as the ball mount. You did see some of my struggles there with the side-to-side movement, but I'm still really appreciative of the up and down anti-rattle. Because if I'm driving around with this on, I'd like it not to rattle around as much. So to install this is actually really easy because it's so light. Compared to a lot of the other ball mounts I have to install, this is a breeze. So just get your ball mounts, get the shank into your hitch receiver, line up the holes. I'm using my own standard ball mount pin, so it's a 5/8 pin with a 3/4-inch span. I have a hitch pin clip for the end. Before you put the hitch balls on, first, tighten down the shank. So notice without it tightened down, (shank clanging) how much movement there is inside the hitch receiver Get your included Allen key tool and tighten that. I grabbed another shank to show you what it's doing inside of your hitch receiver. As you tighten down that bolt, this pops up and wedges your shank to your receiver. Once the shank is secured, you can then attach your hitch balls. So I have the two options here. The stainless steel as well as the chrome finish, they work the exact same way, just a different finish for the balls. So we're gonna get the stainless steel and line it up with whichever rise or drop we want. You have these holes with one-inch incremental spacing, so you can go for either a four-inch rise or a five-inch drop. So get your bolts kind of flush up against the hitch ball, pick which height you want it to go at, and then tighten it down. Notice how much movement we have with our hitch ball This is the normal amount of movement you'll get with a pin and clip situation on other ball mounts. We're gonna fully tighten this down and to compare, there's no up and down movement. Finally, access the safety lock screw and tighten that down too. Every time you make an adjustment, please engage this. And just like that, you're able to install your ball mount. So there's three things I'd like you to remember. The first is I'm using my own hitch pin and clip. You can also get a Fastway locking hitch pin and clip here at etrailer if you want it to match, and if you wanna keep this safe. The second thing is do not lose your Allen key tool because this has a hole out inside of it which makes it a security tool. And when you use it, for the third thing, is make sure to hold onto that ball mount as you loosen it or else, it can drop off real quick. So hopefully this video helped you out with seeing if this is the right fit for you whatever you're towing as well as your vehicle. You do have those different options when it comes to size as well as finish. So make sure to check out our product pages here at etrailer where we have the descriptions, the pictures, and the videos to help you out. And now, here's a look at the Fastway Adjustable Ball Mount here at etrailer. My name's Eve Angeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey.

Self-contained locking pins in this lightweight hitch deter theft and eliminate rattle. Go from a 4" drop to a 5" rise to swap between trailers. Tow up to 8,000 lbs with the 2" ball and up to 10,000 lbs with the 2-5/16" ball.It is difficult to find an adjustable, quality receiver hitch that also provides a way to secure BOTH the shank and the ball assembly to the vehicle against theft.
The FastWay unit’s use of a secure Allen screw is certainly not ‘Fort Knox’ safe, but is more than its competitors have.
I took advantage of a “used” unit etrailer listed and was very pleased upon receiving it that it was like new with only some minor scratches- just as described.
I initially loved the hitch because it was tight in receiver and unlikely to be stolen. Over time it has become harder to keep the anti rattle screw and pin tight, I tighten it just about everyday now. There are also rough spots that have developed in all the screws, I suppose from the set screw tightening against the threads. The hitch is a good value for the money, as it does its job of being an adjustable hitch.
It took a bit of time to get here, (manufacturing happens) but this product was well worth the wait. The excellent design uses a lot of smart options to allow me to pull my current small load pop up trailer, while providing me the flexibility to shop around for a new travel trailer. (I mean, who want's to sleep in a pop up trailer in Montana's bear country?) I especially like the "no rattle and clunk" adjustment on this ball hitch. The rutted and washboard roads that I travel aren't for the weak of heart, and not having to listen to the ball hitch squeak and complain was an unexpected benefit.
I needed a hitch for 2 trailers. Found this hitch at Etrailer.com, great price and great service. The anti-rattle feature works great.
I will shop Etrailer.com again. Thanx.
This hitch is exactly what I was looking for. Extremely well made, adjustable and adaptable to the 4 different trailers that I have pulled using this and rattle free. It is worth every penny that I paid.
Nice hitch. I have been using it for 1 year now with no issues. I pull a 7,500 lb boat with it and it works great. Nice looking hitch as well.
This adjustable ball mount is perfect for my needs. I use it to tow different trailers and this adjusts easily and looks like a piece of artwork! etrailer was helpful in helping me select the correct one for my needs.
Love the versatility of both sizes. Use it for towing my cargo trailer and my boat. Excellent purchase - review is after 1 year of use.
Excellent workmanship, works as stated, no noise an solid, Level adjustment marks aids in aligning the support bolt .

Works Great still , recommend ,great workmanship,
Exactly as described, very fast shipping. Recommended for anyone looking for an adjustable height ball
Solid hitch. The anti-rattle mechanism is genius. I would buy this again if I needed to.
Very solid ball mount. The anti-rattle screw is awesome, no more noise going over bumps on the road. E-trailer sent e-mails and shipped the very same day. Great service!
The anti rattle feature is nice
Great shipping time...very good product so far very tough
just as described with very nice polished finish.
Great product. Fast shipping.
I am very impressed with the overall fit and finish of the ball mount. After tightening everything down per the instructions, the mount doesn’t move at all in the receiver and it maintains a true 90 degree vertical orientation in relation to the ground. I have towed both a boat and fully loaded utility trailer with it and have sensed no movement at all of the ball mount in the receiver and it’s as solid after towing as it was beforehand. My only recommendation would be to have the option of inserting a lockable hitch pin through the 2 ball mount instead of just the custom allen-type screw.
3500 Ram 2.5" Receiver - the pin that is to rise up to reduce up-down chucking is not 100% inside of the receiver. I wonder if that will be an issue over time. Why NO side to side set screws to reduce that chucking? An improvement to the design would be to offer single balls or sets instead of having lower ball get damaged. And how long before the set-screw through the ball wears and chucking happens at that stress point? When I lose the special allen wrench is there a place to get a replacement for a few $ that's open at 11pm on a Sunday night? BUT it is bright and shinny out of the box - so there is that!
Less than half the weight of similar steel products and just as strong. The anti-rattle feature is awesome, works great. The optional locking pin needed a 1/16" rubber washer to keep it from rattling. Overal VERY pleased! Highly recommended!
Very solid hitch. I like all the adjustments and safety bolts. I can't believe they only included one of the special hex wrenches. If you install this thing and loose that hex wrench, then it is not coming off until you get another one. I went to their website looking to buy it from them, but they don't sell it. I finally found the right size on [online]. $XX bucks for one 5/16" tamper resistant hex wrench. It was p/n Eklind 90220 if you want to get one.
Needing at least an 8" drop I ordered the 10" drop to be sure I had enough leeway for adjustment in case my vehicle was heavily loaded with gear. The anti-rattle feature is what really made me choose this hitch. I'll be towing a boat 7,000 miles this summer and did not want to hear any squeaks and eliminate anything that could contribute to trailer swaying. In order to be sure the anti-rattle pin would make contact with my receiver I inquired with both the manufacturer and etrailer. Fastway customer rep said the distance was 3-1/2" and Etrailer said it was 2". Needless to say when it arrived it measured 2" which is perfect for my 2016 Suburban. You may want to double check with etrailer on the 2" measurement before ordering in case the manufacturer has modified the design.
While the anti-rattle pin does eliminate up and down motion a little left to right movement remains. I may fabricate a narrow shim to eliminate all movement but at this time I do not think it will be necessary.
Since I am using this on what is almost the lowest height setting with the 2" ball the 2-5/8" ball is just 10 1/4" above the ground. The hitch balls are not removable from the sliding mount therefore you either have to be careful not to bottom out or for more clearance Fastway said I could cut the 2-5/8" ball off the mount. This would make the ground clearance 12-1/4" off the ground.
As others have stated it is a beautiful piece of hardware and looks really sharp. I will likely leave on on permanently with a BOLT trailer hitch receiver lock. (Be sure to order the correct one!). Leaving it permanently mounted has one benefit- I think drivers from behind will be more wary of stopping too close and rear ending you and if they do rear end you at a slow speed it will absorb a bit of the impact thereby minimizing damage to your vehicle. Thank you etrailer.com for such excellent service and I highly recommend them for your hitch needs.
Excellent product. I installed on my 2014 Ram 1500 and the anti rattle pin was completely inside the receiver unlike what some of the other reviews show. There is absolutely no rattling. I believe the part number is diversitech, but this is in fact a fastway flash ballmount. As always, quick shipping from etrailer and the best price I've seen anywhere.
The mount exceeded my expectations in fit, finish and ease of use. I especially like the anti-rattle mechanism built into the head of the mount. I went through and inspected all of the internal pieces/screws and applied anti-seize for insurance although it appeared that this might have already been done when assembled. Time will tell on the durability of the mount but from outward appearances that won’t be a problem. One suggestion would be to include or at least offer the option of ordering a second security key. I also ordered the etrailer hitch lock which is a lot better and is far easier to operate than any of my previous locks. I would definitely reorder both if I had to replace them.

UPDATE: After about a year and a half I have hadthe following experiences. The manufacturer replaced the hitch after it became difficult to loosen the pin to adjust the hitch height. It had been lubricated as specified but became very tight and felt as if it was cross-threaded. I have become disenchanted with the tamper-proof design of the adjustment and locking pins. I am in the cold northeast and they tend to get iced in and difficult to remove. The height adjustment pin has become damaged from my not consistently being able to the wrench fully into the cavity. I would like to see a different type of boltpin used.
