Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

Still going strong. I use it to pull a 4x8 utility trailer. Also sometimes plug a hitch carrier into it when I want to haul a few bags of mulch or a couple of propane cylinders or gas cans.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos.

Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-)

I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues.

Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done.

Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-)

All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer.

Buy with confidence from eTrailer.com

The hitch ball mount has done an excellent job. I bought a new Chevrolet Colorado last. Came with the tow package but I needed a ball mount for the receiver. I found one with the exact amount of on your website. Once I got everything set up, I towed a car trailer with a car in it from California to South Park with no problems whatsoever. High quality products at a reasonable price.

by:

Product as advertised. Wished I'd paid more attention to what was included and not included. Seller web site did a good job indicating other suggestions on what would go with what you were viewing. So much so, I became dependent on it, and over looked the fact that the pin to hold the ball mount was not included in either the receiver or ball mount. I overlooked this and had to go out and buy this somewhere else. Other than that ordering was easy, and I received everything in a timely manner. It's worth noting that their tracking was dead on as well. It's nice tracking the progress of a package you are waiting for so you can plan your installation. And again, they do a nice job of following up letting you know they received, shipped the order and a link to follow it in transit.

by:

Excellent quality, fast shipping. Finding a metric ball for our international application was a bit difficult. We knew etrailer was the place to go for all things "trailer" related. Very happy with the purchase!

by:

The trailer hitch ball mount fits great. The floor mats for on the 2016 Honda Odyssey fits nicely and the color choice turn out nice.

by:

Standard Shipping was fast and product was as described. The only recommendation, should included standard hitch pin to make this order complete.

by:

Solid, heavy ball mount.

Sorry I did not write back sooner, it’s has been a busy October. I really like everything that I bought. So far I have only used the hitch for my bike rack. But I am planning on using a friends trailer for some yard work and home project jobs. I am a welder by trade and everything is well built and as expected, no issues with anything. I especially like how easy the electrical was to connect to the factory harness. My friend who owns the trailer recently bought another truck and with my recommendation he also purchased a trailer hitch and the other parts he needed from etrailer.com. I have recommended etrailer.com to literally everyone I know. I really like the products and will be a return customer.

by:

It’s a great heavy duty 2 way hitch.. fits in the receiver perfectly

by:

Heavy duty product. The fit was perfect and now I can do some towing. The ball in the photo is one I had hanging around, so don’t mind the rust.

by:

The hitch was very easy to install, took about 30 min. It fits perfectly to my 2001 Ford Ranger. The tow bar is very sturdy and is very well made! The delivery was fast, I ordered it on a Monday, and it arrived on Friday.
I would most DEFINETLY recommend this to anyone who is considering this for a tow bar.

I installed the hitch myself, 2 people would’ve been easier. The ordering and shipping was fast and easy.

I can pull a 2o footer with no problems. Excellent product by etrailer.

by:

After being told it would cost around $1300 to install a trailer hitch I figured I would just rent a truck if I needed to pull a trailer. When I saw your ad I was in but was concerned that it would be too complicated to install myself. I turned out to be super simple including the electrical wiring. I'm recovering from a knee joint replacement so was concerned I couldn't get where I needed to be to get the job done but it was a breeze. Everything works beautifully and is solid as a rock. Thanks for such an exceptional DIY product. Now if you have a hitch for my other car, a 1962 Willys Utility Wagon. I'd like one.

Perfect, Ive had occasion to tow my boat trailer a number of times and it works as intended. When this car is traded in Ill look to you for a hitch for the new car.

by:

Fastest delivery I have ever had. Ordered Wednesday at 5PM, arrived Thursday at 3PM. I'm only a couple hundred miles from Wentzville, but still, excellent. The hitch receiver (2008 Pilot) installed quickly and easily. No need to remove spare or lower muffler. I supported the left end on a large cooler and quickly maneuvered the right side above the tail pipes. The mounting holes were right on target. I had to tap mine to remove rust, but that's easy as well. The wiring harness was also a snapto install. Simple to plug into existing fitting and the wiring box tucked away nicely beneath the trim as advertised. There are options about what to do with the wiring tail and trailer connector. I chose the method shown in the video...leave it rubber-banded in the storage well. Others have run it outside through available holes, but I did not want to leave it exposed to road grime. etrailer's videos were very detailed and shown on my specific vehicle for both the hitch and the wiring harness. Good values as well. If I were Draw-Tite (or Curt) I would include a complementary rubber plug with their logo...cheap advertising.

All products holding up well. Easy install, good quality. Works as advertised.

by:

Product was very good, installation was simple enough.
This is the second hitch assembly I have purchased from you, both have been excellent.
Just one problem, the retaining pin that holds the hitch in the receiver is to short.
Making it very difficult to clip the pin into place.

Thanks

If a standard hitch pin like # e98880 or # PC3 isnt easy to secure, an extra long hitch pin like # e98881 could work well for you. This hitch pin is designed for 2-12 inch trailer hitches, but is 58 inch diameter and will work in a 2 inch hitch as long as you have clearance for the longer pin.

by:

My truck is quite the workhorse! Occasionally, I need to pull a flatbed trailer for a parade or a cargo trailer for trips. Before this product, I just had a ball hitch through the back bumper. It did the job, but finally wore out. Plus, it was quite a steep angle for the trailer to lock onto to. At the recommendation of another etrailer client, he found this item for my truck, I bought it, and we installed it together. I really like how the trailer links down lower now, the mount is strong and durable, good quality, and ball accessories can be interchanged pretty easily. The video on the website was very helpful with the installation.

by:

Fits my Curt hitch just right.

by:

I had to return my hitch because the person that was supposed to install it for me fell through so I had to use somebody that installed their own hitches but I kept this ball mount even though the other one came with one because it is so much better for the same money. This is such a good product. Your shipping is amazing your people are helpful and were gracious even about the return of the other item. You did such a good job I would recommend your company to anyone. My nephew recommended your sight after his really good experience with your company and his business is using your hitches to pull trailers and they are performing well after several years.

by:

This ball and hitch and pin were not compatible with one of my two 5k pound trailer hitches. Not sure why, but I can only use it on my oldest care hitch.

by:

Good quality product and it looks great on my Jeep Wrangler.

by:

Ball mount comes with pin and clip but it did not say that in the description, so we bought a pin and clip which we don't need. Not expensive and more postage to send it back than we would get for it, but we will end up throwing it away which is a total waste of resources.
The hitch was packaged with no covering on the ends so they broke through the box which was in tatters by the time it arrived. Fortunately, the small items that were packed in the box did not fall out.

Other than that, all materials arrived in a timely manner and the order was accurate.

As stated above in the product description, the pin and clip are indeed included.

by:

just as described on their web site. Fits the trailer hitch and very satisfied. Only thing I would recommend being purchased with the trailer hitch is instead of the normal pin with carter pin. I would advise purchasing a key locking pin so that no one can steal your draw-tite ball mount and also steal the replacement mount you purchase that slides into the slot when towing anything, People have had there College Logos stolen because they did not have a key locking pin to avoid anyone just walking up undoing the carter pin, pulling the pin and walking away with those and the hitch cover. So if ETRAILER.COM sells the locking pin I would purchase it from them instead of the normal pin.

If you need a locking pin I recommend part # e98882. Please keep in mind this lock will not work with double-walled hitches or some factory 2 trailer hitches that have an outside width wider than 2-58. If a longer pin length is needed, see hitch lock part # e98881.

If you'll just use it for a hitch mounted accessory, all you need is the hitch. If you'll be using it for towing, you'll need a wiring harness, a ball mount and a trailer ball. A hitch is indeed available! I'd recommend the US made Curt Class III hitch, part # C13176. The hitch has a 8000 lbs towing/800 lbs tongue weight capacity, so it'll be able to handle any towing job you throw at it (as long as you don't exceed the towing capacity of the truck itself). If your truck doesn't already have a trailer connector, I'd recommend # HM11141144 which provides both a 7-way and a 4-pole connector.
