Average Customer Rating:  4.8 out of 5 stars   (1856 Customer Reviews)

Sturdy steel ball mount with solid shank measures 9-1/4" from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole. Drawbar is Class I and Class II compatible. CNC-machined for clean, straight lines. Powder coat gloss finish is corrosion resistant.

Good and strong but not a great angle/height for my application so had to go to a straight line fit.

To choose a ball mount with the correct rise and , you will first need to take two measurements. Measurement A will be the distance from the top of the hitch receiver opening to the ground, making sure that the ground is level. Measurement B will also need to be on level ground and it will be from the bottom of the trailer coupler to the ground. Then take the difference between the two. If your hitch height is greater, use a ball mount with a closest to the difference that was measured. If your coupler height is greater, use a ball mount with a rise closest to the difference that was measured. The goal is to make it as level as possible.

I would give five stars but due to what looks like packaging problems the hitch came very marred and the coating chipping off.

It is on the vehicle but haven't used it yet. Will be using it his spring to haul a small trailer home

works fine, took a small trailer from Fl to Maine

East install, easy ride, easy move!

I was very suspicious how will it fit and suit Dodge Challenger. But when I received trailer hitch, and by they way it travelled across the planet to reach me, I was totally impressed with the quality, ease of installation and accessories which I ordered with it. I basically installed it myself with a help of a friend, it took about 30 minutes to fix it. It really saved me as I needed the trailer to transport my bike to the race track and I didn't want to change the car.
So the conclusion, I own it for more than a year and have zero issues or complaints about the hitch or accessories. I used to travel long and short distances and in average I use it every second week. You barely can notice it when you remove drawbar so it is very good solution.

Excellent product! Easy to put on, works great, very satisfied!

Easy installation. Helps to have two people, however, I installed it alone with the help of jack stands. I highly recommend the Curt receiver. I have another Curt receiver on my 2011 Honda Accord that I also purchased from

I just finished hauling a load of bush and tree trimmings to the dump with my utility trailer. Attached is a close up photo of the receiver in use.

Product comes basically unusable due to a lazy omission of the pin needed to connect the hitch receiver and tongue. This part must be purchased separately from an outside source if the absence is not realized in time, rendering the entire experience troublesome and inconvenient. Customer service is defensive and unable to convey empathy or remorse for customer dissatisfaction. Would strongly discourage future customers from considering this company.

The pin and clip is sold separately as part F-4, as stated in the product description.

Got my two orders, a trailer hitch, draw bar, pin and ball, didn't order all the 1st time. It was easy to find everything I needed on the site. The videos that showed how to install the hitch and wiring on my particular vehicle were to the point and easy to follow. at least one tip the guy gave, was to get yourself some extra zip ties, which I did and found it to be a great tip, (don't remember if he mentioned length, but I got some 8 or 10" and at a couple points it made it easier, It may have something to do with my age). Without the videos, I most likely wouldn't have tried to install any of it myself, it took me about 6 hours or so with breaks here and there but I am very satisfied. would add pictures but not at all tech savvy, have everything I need, just can't get them on there. Thanks all at etrailer for making something I put off for a long time, easy. Thanks again! R.R.

The hitch, ball mount pin, clip and wiring kit were all perfect for my vechicle and good quality products. The free shipment was very fast. The phone conversation was courteous and helpfu. I am very satisfied with the entire process.
Big thanks to e-trailer!

I bought a Curt trailer hitch for my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, with Stow and Go seating. I spoke with Kevin from who was very helpful and confirmed the part numbers for the hitch, wiring harness, and drawbar, and took my order. They arrived at my house on the next day.

The parts arrived in two boxes - one large box for the hitch, the other smaller box for the wiring harness and drawbar. The parts were all there, and correct, with installation instructions included. I spent about an hour installing the hitch itself, including jacking up the rear of the van to gain access to the underside, installing the hitch, and letting the car down. The instructions were spot-on. The wiring took less than an hour. I cleaned up and waxed the area behind the tailights, and routed the wiring carefully. The wiring was a perfect fit. Again, the instructions helped considerably.

The free shipping was a selling factor, plus their lowest price pledge saved me a little over $30.00. I am glad I decided to purchase the hitch and accessories from

I bought this riser to level out my trailer to get rid of some trailer sway issues i was having. However it fit so loose that even with nothing on the trailer it was all over the place and scary. My trailer did not do this before at all. I got some composite shims and jamed them in there on 3 sides. Then managed to find a way to keep them in worked but was a lot of cussing and swearing to finally get it to work....but since then its been good...product is 2 star...added a star for shipping time.

Worked with Carmel, she made ordering my hitch and accy's easy and quick.

Speaking of quick she told me that she would place the order and that it should go out within 4 working days. I received my complete order within 3 days. Now that was fast.

If you need a hitch get it from etrailer, one stop shopping!

I purchased this Curt drawbar to go with my Curt trailer hitch receiver. This is very well made and fits perfect. Also, etrailer is a great company to deal with. This was my first order, won't be my last. Thank you.

I have ordered from eTrailer before and have been very pleased with their products and service. This order was no different. The item arrived in a timely matter; was packaged nicely and exactly as described on their website. The product fits perfectly and looks great! I haven't pulled anything yet with the ball mount however I do not anticipate any trouble from it. eTrailers parts are always of good quality.

It's a awesome hitch and it fits perfectly good on my 1986 chevy elcomino to pull a trailer some time

It does a awesome job
Timothy - 01/01/2021

excellent products, hitch installed in about a half hour and fit perfect. Installed your wiring kit and drawbar and towed my trailer that day.

Hitch and receiver assembly both installed quickly and fit perfectly and was very easy to install took about 45 minutes only alteration you have to do is one hole in the heat shield for Ford Focus

The product fits perfectly, is sturdy enough to suit my needs, and is compact enough that I can leave it on if I want to. The ball I bought for it fit snugly without being loose and wobbly. It's also easy to remove when I need to. All in all, it does its job perfectly.

It works great. I haul my 5x8 trailer all over the place, and Ive never had any issues with the hitch. The only critique I have is that when I back out of my driveway, it scrapes the pavement. Thats what I get for putting a hitch on an already low vehicle.
Timothy H - 08/26/2016

Definitely a must if your pulling a trailer with a sedan.

I ordered this ball mount with the recommendation based on vehicle application. I found it to be an accurate fit with just the right amount of rise to level my trailer. After a year of winter salt spray the finish still looks great!

Everything was great and it was a quick delivery. Unfortunately. I was expecting a hitch pin but it was not included.

Some drawbars do include a pin and clip, but Curt does not include the pin and clip with this drawbar. This allows you to choose a standard hitch pin like # F-4
Curt Hitch Pin and Clip for 1-1/4" Hitches - 1/2" Diameter x 2-1/2" Span
or a locking hitch pin like # e98879
etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 1-1/4" Hitches - Flush - 2-1/8" Span - Chrome
to use with your setup.

This riser is well built; and, works very well.

was very knowledgeable and
helpful throughout the whole ordering process.
she googled and verified with her vender to make sure the order matched my Volkswagen. I have never installed a hitch on a car before and was very worried if I was going to get the right things.
She even emailed me letting me know my that my order was delivered to my door this afternoon.

If you call and order as for NATALIE.

Just what I expected

  • Recommended 3 Inch Rise Ball Mount for 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
The closest option we have available to the Curt Drawbar # C45520 you referenced that is designed for 2 inch hitch receivers is the Curt Solid Ball Mount # C45313. This is a really nice ball mount that features the same 3 inch rise but can also be used in the drop position for a 4 inch drop. It has a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds. It measures 10 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that...

Yes, you can use a 2" Ball # C40018 with your 1-1/4" receiver on your vehicle. The two Curt ball mounts you mentioned of part # C45014 and # C45015 are both options that would give you additional rise with the # C45015 being a few inches longer as well than compared to the # C45520 that you have now. Now these options only can be used on Class II hitches whereas the # C45520 can fit Class I or Class II so you'd need to verify that with the hitch of your vehicle.
