Today we're going to take a look at the Curt ball mount for 2 inch hitches. Has the 3 3/4" drop and the 2 1/2" inch rise, and a 7,500 pound weight capacity. This ball mount will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion right back here will slide in to your 2 inch vehicle's hitch receiver opening. The ball platform will provide the mounting plane for your hitch ball. The hitch ball's not included.
You would have to choose the correct hitch ball for your application. We do sell those on our website. Now both the drop and the rise positions are available to ensure level towing with this ball mount. It is a nice, sturdy steel construction. You can see, it has a nice corrosion resistant high-gloss black powder coat finish over the whole ball mount. To install this when you slide this into your hitch receiver opening, you align your hitch pin holes up.
It does require a hitch pin and clip, or a hitch lock to attach it to your received. If you do need one, we do happen to sell those on our website separately. I happen to pull, here's a standard hitch pinning clip, part number PC3 that would work with this application. This part is made in the USA. Again, the application, this is for 2" by 2" trailer hitch receivers.
The gross towing weight capacity 7,500 pounds. The ton weight capacity 750 pounds. I do want to give you some measurements on this so you can match it up with your application. The length, which is always measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, so if we put a ruler on that, center to center, is right at 10 1/4". The drop, which would be this position, is measured from the top of the ball platform to the top of the shank. If you put a ruler on it, it's about 3 3/4".
If we flip it over, the rise, which would be the same way, top of the shank to the top of the ball platform, it's going to be right at 2 1/2". The ball hole diameter, which when you go to purchase your hitch ball, you do want to make sure the shank diameter on the ball will match this. On this one is going to be right at 1" for the ball hole diameter. Again, the pin hole diameter, which uses the hitch pin and clip or hitch lock is 5/8". That should do it for the review on the Curt ball mount for 2" hitches, with the 3 3/4" drop, 2 1/2" rise, and a 7,500 pound weight capacity.
Great price,quality, and fast shipping.
