Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 72 inch long by six inch wide steel piano hinge. Now, this hinge provides sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet, your door, or your panel. This hinge is great for oversized doors, trailer doors, entrance doors, and this will provide more support than multiple small hinges. It has a nice continuous design, so it does reduce the stress on the hinge when used with heavier doors.
And just want to zoom in to show you this hinge does rotate 270 degrees. You can see with it laying flat, it'll go 180 degrees. And then actually, it will go back another 90 degrees, so it gives you a whole total of 270 degrees of rotation for full opening and closing motion. Now, this is a durable steel construction. Has an unplated mill finish on it.
And this is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. Now, if you do bolt it on, it will require drilling holes into the hinge. And this hinge can be cut to your specific size for your application. This part is made in the USA. Zoom back out, wanna give you the overall length.
Put a tape measure on it. We'll go from one end, all the way to the other end, it's right at 72 inches or six feet. The open width, zoom in again. Be hard to see but if we do the open width from one end to the other, it's gonna be right at six inches. And the knuckle length, each one of these sections here is a knuckle, so the length on those is right at two inches per knuckle.
And the pin diameter, in other words, the large pin that goes through these knuckles that hold the two pieces together, the diameter on that pin is one half of an inch. But that should do it for the review on the 72 inch long by six inch wide steel piano hinge..

used cobalt drill bit drilled 4 holes in hinge on corners with paper to keep door space for future paint ,drilled holes in hinge only just touch wood ,undid 4 screws ,recessed wood with bur thing ,punched stainless hinge into wood, screwed in screws near flush ,very clean super price and strong ,thank you

Used this hinge to replace 2 frozen hinges on our 10 foot enclosed trailer. Because of the full length, we were able to bolt it on instead of welding. We cut the old ones off with a cut off wheel. It worked out great!

Correct item received, but tape gum on the hinge will require extensive cleaning before use. Was not necessary to be taped up, Or use painters tape the is easily removable leaving no film.

- Can The Marlboro Continuous Hinge Be Cut Down To Fit Different LengthsYes, the 6" Wide Continuous Hinge # MA52VR is able to be cut down. I recommend removing the pin and cutting each piece separately. When you place the pin back in you can use a hole punch to taper in the bottom pin holder just a bit so that it doesn't wiggle down with any road vibration.
