Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer and today, I'm just going to take some time to show you guys these JR Products hooking keepers. Basically, what these are going to do is just hold the side door or the back swinging doors of your enclosed trailer or camper open so that you can go in and out with ease, don't have to worry about opening the door every time you want to go in. So for days like today where there's actually a breeze going, what we can do is just open up the door, put the wand into the keeper just like that, it's very simple. And from there, it's just going to hold the door open so we can go in and out, load and unload as we please. Now with these certain hooking keepers, a six inch version, they are available in a lot of different constructions and colors. For these plastic ones, you can see we have the Polar White which matches our trailer very well. We have this Colonial White in the middle and then black as well, so you can choose the one that's going to best match your trailer, whichever one you want.
Now, we also have them available in both stainless steel, which is right here, and a zinc-coated steel. It's going to look very similar. These are going to be a little bit more tough and durable. The plastic ones, while they are going to be more flexible and maybe a little bit easier to use at times, they won't last as long as the steel ones. So, just pick the one that's going to best suit your trailer.
They're all going to do a great job. Now, whichever one you go with, you are going to get the mounting hardware included. Now, obviously you can see, we did not use the mounting hardware in this application. That's just because we had to replace a previous hooking keeper. And the holes that we're already drilled out we're bigger than what these screws will fit. So, we had to pick up some different self-tapping screws that we're just laying around the shop.
Either way, you just want to make sure you get it installed and secured. Now, the wand length on these keepers is going to be six inches. That's relevant because if you have any mounted on your doors, on the sides it's usually not going to be as big of an issue, but for the back doors, you can see we got these tail lights, license plate lights. You want to make sure those aren't going to make contact with your trailer when you put the keeper on. So with the back doors, we already have keepers installed and we don't have to replace them. So, I'll show you what I mean by that by opening up this door.So you can see those lights are getting pretty close to our trailer.
This is a 4-inch wand, so we are just able to get it hooked in without the lights making contact. So you definitely don't want to go any shorter than that 4-inch wand that we already have installed. If you don't have anything on the back of your door and you want to go even more flush against the side of your trailer, we do even have shorter wands available here for each of them, if that's what you're more interested in.And this is a nice and simple investment you can make. It doesn't cost a ton of money to be able to get your doors held open so they don't swing and hit you while you're trying to load and unload your trailer. That can be a real big frustration and just make your day that much worse. Now, I'll go ahead and walk you through how to install it real quick; it's nice and simple. Now, you can see the spot where our previous hooking keeper was installed, that just kind of faded and eroded over time, so it wasn't very useful anymore. So, we just took it off. We have these preexisting holes in the hardware that came with it. Like I said earlier, it didn't fit. So, we're just using these other self-tappers that are going to make the hole slightly bigger. So, let's just go and get it installedAnd then, we'll get the wand side installed also. There we go. Let's go and open up our door and test it out, make sure that it works. Hook it on, just give it a good push. You see that it's holding, so we're good to go. And that's all there is to it. It's a very simple install. So from here, what we can do is just close our door up and hit the road.Well, I hope this information helped you out, but that's going to do it for our look at these JR Products hooking keepers.

Keep your trailer door open while you're loading and unloading with this 6" T-style hook-and-keeper door holder. Plastic construction is durable and won't scratch up your trailer. Mounting screws are included.etrailer asked me to do a review. I'll do it as their service for purchases and returns has been very good for me. I broke a door holder on my trailer. This one is the replacement and works. The door stops at the fender and the door holder just reaches. But it works good!
Parts were correct. The online video helped a lot to make sure I got the right propane pigtail.
The product is fine, my problem is it's labeled 6" measures 10".
A hard item to find but etrailer inventory was easy to search and I found it. The price was right and the delivery professionally done! Thanks.
I ordered several of these. They are so cheaply made that we didn’t even try to put them on the trailer.
They work but should have bought steel
