Colin: Hey, everyone, it's Colin here at etrailer. And today, I'm going to take some time to show you guys these JR products: hooks and keepers. Basically what these are going to do for you is you mount them to the sides of your trailer, whether it's your enclosed trailer, or maybe your RV, and this just going to give you a way to prop open your door. So, for example, for loading and unloading this utility trailer, what we can do is open up the door and then put that wand into the keeper. And what that's going to do is keep our door propped open so that when we're loading and unloading our cargo, the door's not going to swing closed while we're trying to go in and out. And these wands are about three inches long, so it's going to keep your door pretty flush against the side of your trailer or your camper. You see we have it in polar white right now. It matches our trailer very nicely, but it is also available in other colors.
I got a black one right here, but it's also available and a colonial white, which is their version of more of a off or cream white. So, whichever one's going to match your application the best, go ahead and pick that up.These are all a very durable plastic construction. They're going to hold up very well. They're going to last a long time, but if you want something more long-term that's going to last much longer than plastic, we do have some steel ones available as well from JR products. They do cost a little bit more, but that's what you're paying for is that longevity.
So, whichever one you're interested in, just check those out here at etrailer. Now on that side door, the wand length really isn't an issue, but over here it probably would be what I was referring to is just having tail lights, license plate, lights, stuff like that mounted to the side of the door. So, just for an example, it's going to open up this door. We already have a hook and keeper installed on it. It's pretty old, but we'll show you what I mean. Now you can see that those lights are getting closer to the trailer, but they don't quite make contact. I can get this wand into the keeper right there.
This is about a four inch wand right here. So, a three and a half inch may not work back here with those lights, so you just want to make sure that you're getting the right length. We do have longer ones available at six inches with the same construction. So, just check those out here on our website. Now there is included hardware with all of these kits. However, because we we're replacing a previous hooking keeper, we just used the existing holes that we're already in our trailer and we needed some bigger diameter of hardware.
So, we just went ahead and grabbed some self-tappers that we're laying around the shop. Either way, you just want to make sure you get this secured. Now there is another option to get a white keeper and hook that includes a spacer. And what this is going to do is basically you just, before you install it, put it over top. And with the included hardware, not the self-tappers that we used instead, but with the included hardware, it would just go right through there. And that's just to help prevent the door from slamming into your wand right here, or in the other case, your keeper, to make sure that it holds up much longer. Now it's a very simple install process. I'll go ahead and walk you through that right now. Now, like I said, install is pretty easy. And we are good. Just going to use the preexisting holes with some bigger self-tapping screws so they can catch on. Don't need to be too tight, just snug. See how it's really on there Now let's get the wand installed. And then just open up your door, test it out, make sure that the wand will catch it and hold it. Holds it just fine. So, now we know we are good to load up our trailer and then hit the road. Well, thank you all for watching and I hope this information helped you out, but that's going to do it for our look at these JR products: hook and keepers..

Keep your trailer door open while you're loading and unloading with this 3-1/2" T-style hook-and-keeper door holder. Plastic construction is durable and won't scratch up your trailer. Mounting screws are included. These last around 4 years or so if exposed to much sunlight.
This is my 4th set and for the price, not bad at all.
This time I bought a spare 'just in case' they become unavailable.
I own a 1997 Dutchman Express and this part is an exact size which no new holes are needed.
Which I am very surprised..
etraler never failed me yet.. Thanks etrailer..

I have sold my camper not soon after installing parts. New owner was happy parts have been replaced. I also let the new owner know of ETRAILER for any parts needed for camper
Perfect replacement for what I had on the camper door that got ripped off in an unfortunate event. This was exact fit. Quality appears good and it was a reasonable price. I always find exact replacements for anything that I need at eTrailer.com (forget searching on another online retailer). And as usual good service from the employees. I have never been disappointed with my etrailer experience.
I used them to hold the doors open on my tractor shed, the wind blows just right around the building to where the doors have to be propped open so they don't slam against the siding, they work great !!!
we received our order in record time. It was very well packed and in great shape. Etrailer had all the pieces we needed to repair our camper and at awesome prices-even with the exchange rate on CAD. Thank you:)

Fit was great, works as it needs. Ordered a shorter item than was originally on the tv. Love that the door is tucked closer to rv wall when open.
Exactly the replacement part that I was looking for after I damaged my old, faded door keeper.
Nice sturdy product that did the trick. Now my door stays put.
From purchase to delivery I rated a 10.
