Today we're going to be taking a look at the Polar hardware T-strap hinge for side and rear trailer doors. This lets your door swing open 180 degrees. You'll notice that it has really nice movement to it. It makes opening and closing very easy. This is a long strap that provides more contact area with the door for excellent support. It's going to feature a non-removable pin for better security.
That pin diameter is about a half inch. It's a heavy duty design. It's very strong and durable. It's a stainless steel construction that's going to provide durability and superior corrosion resistance, and it's got a really good looking polished finish, which just gives it a sleek look and a really great appearance. A few measurements to go over with you real quick, starting with the overall length. Measuring from the back of the hinge to the end of the strap is about 17 and 5/8 of an inch.
The hinge, that's going to give us a length measurement of about 4.5 inches. From the back of the hinge going to about the center of the pin is about 1 and 5/8 of an inch. Then those mount holes are separated on center by 3 and one-quarter inches. When it comes to just measuring the length of the strap, that's going to give us a measurement of around 16 inches long. The width of the strap measures about 2 inches wide.
You will notice on the strap there's three mount holes. If we take a measurement the distance that we have center on center between those, it's going to measure 6 and 7/16 of an inch, and 6 and 7/16 of an inch. Now these holes will accept 5/16 inch diameter hardware. These holes will accept 3/8 inch diameter hardware. That's going to do it for today's look at the Polar hardware T-strap hinge.
