Today we're going to be taking a look at the Polar Hardware Over The Seal Hinge. This over the seal hinge is designed to bridge a door molding or door seal. It's going to give about 2-3/4 inches of clearance. We can tell that by measuring just this gap right here. If we place a ruler on there and measure out to about this point right here, you can see that's where we're going to get that 2-3/4 inch clearance measurement from. Now this unit is made from a polished stainless steel construction.
It's very strong and durable. Also does a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. The narrow bracket is for mounting where space is limited. Mounting hardware is not included so that will need to be provided separately. It does feature a non-removable pin for maximum security. A really nice design, nice easy operation as well.
You can see how that rotates very smooth. If we take a measurement of the strap length, where we're measuring from is basically this point right here at the hinge to the end of the strap. If we do that you can see that that's going to give us a measurement of 12 inches long so that's going to be our strap length. The strap width, just measuring the width of this area right here, that's going to give us a measurement of 2 inches wide. You'll notice that on the strap itself we're going to have three mount holes. Those are going to give us a diameter of 5/16 of an inch and in the separation between each one ...
Each hole is separated on center apart from one another by 3-5/8 of an inch. From the center of this one to this one is going to be about 7-1/4. The hinge measuring this direction edge-to-edge is about 4-1/2 inches. The width of the flat area, it's going to be about 1-1/4. Two mount holes on that hinge, those are going to give us a diameter of 3/8 of an inch.
They are separated apart from one another by 3-1/4 inches. The overall length of the unit measuring edge-to-edge, that's going to give us a measurement of around 14 inches long. That's going to do it for today's look at the Polar Hardware Over The Seal Hinge.
