Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Weld-On Hinge. This is a nice heavy-duty steel hinge that's going to provide support along the length of your metal door or gate. This will also work for your trailers, barbecue pits, electrical boxes, machinery doors, and lots of other applications. It is a weld-on installation, so it is going to be restricted to your metal surfaces, but having that weld-on installation is going to ensure a nice strong hold for heavy duty permanent applications.
The overall length of this hinge is right at 10 and one quarter of an inch long. Our thickness is going to depend on where we measure it 'cause, as you can see, we do have this triangular portion there that's going to provide those flat sides for us to weld this in place. So if we measure with that, we're going to have a width of about one and a half inches. If we rotate that around so that not measuring that, it's going to be just over an inch. We'll call it an inch and one eighth in diameter.
This is a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable for you. Our pin here is a three quarter inch, or 19 millimeter diameter, and then we also are gonna have this corrosion resistant brass bushing that's going to make sure that we have a nice smooth hinging action there. So if you are needing a 10 and one quarter inch long heavy duty steel hinge, this is gonna be a great option for you to get welded on in place. That's gonna complete our look for today. I have found ETRAILER.COM to be an excellent company to deal with. I ordered a hinge that was shown to have a delayed delivery and the contacted me to see if I was interested in something similar with faster delivery, though I declined. The hinge I ordered came in with in the expected time span and is exactly what I wanted. Unlike a local company that assured me they had the part I wanted and after an hour drive, they only had something close. the customer is not always right, but good customer service is really important and these guys knocked it out of the park as far as I'm concerned. These are really nice hinges. Very sturdy and heavy. I did have issues with the shipping of these where the shipping packaging was not durable enough for parts not to fall out. Etrailer did take care of the shipping problem, and got me replacements.
