It was made well enough for my needs. I use it to move my boat around which is pretty light. It is way easier than getting the lawn mower out and trying to move it around that way. I wish the little leg had an end cap so it wouldn’t sink into the ground. Everything else was great. Maybe if the ball was higher on the dolly, I would be able to make sharper turns without having the tires catch on the trailer. Otherwise, it has been great. I pull the boat behind the camper and when we get home, my wife can use the dolly to pull the boat to where we park it while I back the camper down the drive way. Previously, we had to go get the mower and make wide turns and it was a bit of a nightmare. We had to move the boat before I backed the camper in. Our driveway is approximately 175’ and the parking is tight. The dolly really improved the situation and saves us time.

I am attaching three photos. In two of the photos you can see how are the dolly hitched to both my lawn tractor and my log splitter; the reason I made the purchase. The other photo is meant to show the topography on our property. This trailer hitch dolly has made maneuvering the heavy full-beam splitter around the property easy, and when disconnected from the tractor I am able to move the machine with little effort; leaving me more energy reserve for splitting hauling and stacking the fire wood.

Works great!! We tow an SUV behind our motorhome and cant back up. This dolly moves our tow dolly out of the way easily so we can back into a site, no problem! Its heavy duty and parts of it fold up so we can bring it with us in the SUV. We also use it to move our 10x12 trailer around the property. Definitely recommend!

VERY IMPRESSED! I received the MaxxTow Dual Pull Trailer Dolly in just a few days, assembly was easy, product appears well engineered and manufactured, materials strength appears more than adequate. Most impressive were the large diameter pneumatic wheels which roll easily over gravel surfaces. I have tried it out with 3 small trailers I need to move around my property, 2 of which have tongue loads I struggle to lift (150+ pounds?). With the MaxxTow handling the lifting, I am able to maneuver the trailers into the desired position with minimal effort. Should have purchased one of these years ago!

I have put it together but not used it yet. For the price, it seems sturdier than others I looked at, although I still need to air up the tires and test it out. The packaging left a bit to be desired, it was broken open with parts sticking out in two places. The end of the axle was one of those, but although I was concerned about whether the wheel would go on, it did without much effort, all seems fine and I'm expecting it to work well.

- MT70881
by:

product appears well built, one suggestion is to also add adjustable arm height for various ATV heights. i plan to heat up the arm and bend down so that weight is on dolly not on atv hitch.

- MT70881
by:

Great design, plenty sturdy. I plan a few modifications. First, I'm going to try to find end caps for the axle, to help keep out dirt and water. Preferably chrome, to add a little bling. Second, I'd like to find an end cap for the "kickstand", either plastic or metal, or weld on a cap, to keep mud and dirt from packing inside. Otherwise, good product.

Trailer dolly works as described; use it to move my 15' aluminum boat into storage shed (gravel lot). Large tires pull good across this rough surface. Would recommend to others interested in a way to move trailers around.

Comments
I use it to move my small aluminum boat around the gravel area from my shed to driveway. I works as advertised, no complaints, except as I read in another review, maybe better grips to pull on.

Received the package in a very timely manner. Anyone with a degree in common sense can assemble the Dolly in short order. The picture on box was all I needed to finalize the assembly. I moved a 3,000 pound trailer thru my yard with my zero turn mower. I did notice that if I turned too sharp, one wheel of the dolly would lift off of the ground, so I didn’t turn that sharp again. No problems! If you move a trailer on macadam or cement, you would have no problem. I would buy again if I needed to. I never rate a product as 5 stars, simply because I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement. If there was a way to rate this dolly as 4 1/2 stars, I would do that.

Good price for a really well built trailer dolly. Easy assembly but the instructions could use a more detailed assembly drawing. I have not used the dolly yet but I do not expect to be disappointed. It looks very sturdy and functional. Good to have the inflatable tires rather than the no-flat tires that get so many bad reviews on other similar products.

Comments
I still recommend this trailer dolly. Very useful for moving the boat in and out of a tandem garage. Need to add a warning for users to always leave the trailer jack stand in position as a backup in case user loses balance and trailer dolly slides out of place and the trailer front tongue. It happened to me once but no damage was done, fortunately!

It is light weight but I would have preferred for the ball to be mounted a bit higher.

Product was built fine. Works great moving my 1600# camper around. I'm currently on lawn, and with a slight downgrade, it rolled fine. To turn the camper (see attachment) around in place, it may be easier with two people. Time will tell. etrailer was extremely efficient getting my order shipped. Couldn't ask for better service. Bought on a Sunday online and I received an email that my order was ready for shipment, a short time later.

I have used the Maxxtow trailer dolly several times to move my trailer into and out of tight places this year. It would never have been possible without the dolly from etrailer. I have not had to use the extra wheel I ordered, but it is ready and available if I need it.

Having been a business owner myself, I love it when a company under promises and over delivers. That’s the case with this dolly. Considering it was made in China, it’s a quality piece of equipment. It assembled very easily and does exactly what it promised. Until I got the dolly, I didn’t realize it had a clovis hook attachment. I can hook the dolly to the back of my tractor which is a great feature.

I found this product well built, easy to assemble, and perfect for backing my trailers into their storage area. Though only received this week, it looks good for years of use.

7 months after purchase tires were severely cracked and dry rotted. Axle holes are an odd size so replacing wheels and tires was not an easy option. 1 tire would go flat between uses from the time I bought it. Tried to get larger run flat and couldn’t get anything to fit. Finally ordered replacements at almost same cost of dolly. Works great when tires aren’t flat. Hoping new tires are better longer lasting.

Comments
Please keep in mind the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Dual Pull Trailer Dolly part MT70881 is only designed to handle a 600 lb total weight capacity. The dolly is designed for light weight small trailers. Exceeding the capacity could result in premature tire wear. The replacement wheels are part MT70225-1.

Just got it 2 days ago. I have put it together, but haven't used it yet. Appears to be built sturdy and hopefully will help me move my log splitter around. Decent price. I have only 1 suggestion. I wish the folding stand for it had the bottom end plugged or a foot placed on it to keep it from singing into the ground. I would buy it again.

- MT70881
by:

Very useful to have pulling a Log Splitter. What I don't like is that he handle grip is small and chintzy.. and the plastic handle grips keep sliding off.. The tow bar being a foot longer would be better too, for pulling a 25 ton log splitter.. but definitely recommend have one..

Received the order in great time, assembled the unit and it will work great for moving small & medium sized trailers around my lot and in and out of my storage building with a 4 wheeler of my zero turn mower. Thank you e-trailer for once again for great products and great service, I will recommend you guys to everyone who needs the products you provide. Thank you,

Works great on small and medium trailers, not heavy enough to turn my 3500lb boat trailer into the shed, works fine going forward and straight back. Works great with my smaller single axel trailer. Good product, well made.

I receive my goods on time and in excellent condition. The box had the complete item no missing parts. It was easy to assemble, the only thing I couldn't find was the amount of pressure to put in the tires.

This dolly works perfectly for towing a personal water craft from the back to the front yard on grass using a lawn tractor. The dolly easily connects to the lawn tractor using a drop-type magnetic hitch pin. It also attaches without having to disassemble / remove the rear bagger on the lawn tractor (yea!). PS: The lawn tractor is a John Deere X350 with the 7-bushel rear bagging system.

If you're looking for a fully electronic trailer dolly then we've got a great option; you'll want to take into consideration the GVWR and tongue weight of your trailer. If you've got a trailer under 5500-lbs then I recommend using the Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly - Wireless Remote - 5,500 lbs # TVRVR5, which works with trailers with a tongue weight of up to 565-lbs. • Is the Weight Capacity of the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Dual Pull Trailer Dolly for the Trailer or Tongue
The MaxxTow MaxxHaul Dual Pull Trailer Dolly part # MT70881 has a 600 lb weight capacity. It does not state whether this is trailer or tongue weight but since the dolly would be supporting downward force, it really only makes sense for this to relate to tongue weight. The pulling weight capacity (trailer weight) comes down to how much you are physically able to pull. If you check other manufactures with similar products, they almost all list the weight as tongue, not trailer.

  • Why You Don't Want to Put a Bigger Hitch Ball on the MaxxTow Trailer Dolly
You actually don't want to use different ball sizes on the part # MT70881 as that reduces the trailers that can be moved with it. If you think about it...all ball coupler sizes will fit on the 1-7/8 inch ball, but if you went with a larger ball the smaller coupler sizes wouldn't fit on it. So the next obvious question is whether or not the latch of the coupler has to be secured to the ball. And the answer to that is no because even if you had the coupler latched if you were in a situation...
