This universal 3-ball trailer coupler lock offers security whether your trailer is hitched up to your vehicle or left unattended. Latch lock secures the coupler when your trailer is hooked up and when the lock ball is inserted during storage.

Will not work on a DEMCO hitch. The cable that comes out of the tumbler mechanism wont allow the lock to work. It seemed like a great idea but it seems like it is made for less expensive hitches.

Shortly after buying this item one of the balls broke off.The lock itself was easily opened without the key.

Great product! Ordered several of these, work fine! I like this design because they fit various size couplers, since we have more than one trailer. Very easy to install and hardly noticed from a distance. Great theft protection.

Serves its purpose to deter a thief with limited, or no tools from stealing our trailer but not sure how it would hold up against bolt cutters. But just having some security is helpful. Would recommend to anyone considering it.

Still works as good as new, giving peace Of mind that a potential thief could not easily hitch up the trailer and steal it. The steel pin does show some minimal rust but it has not impacted the functionality of the trailer coupler.

I procured a new piece of towable farm equipment this black friday shopping week and needed an affordable locking system. I was looking for a tongue lock as well as a latch lock, so the Curt Tri-Ball trailer couple lock fit the bill. It arrived fast and is easy to use. I typically use the BOLT system of locks, but this piece of equipment just needed a more cost-effective solution. I am VERY pleased with this product and will likely buy it again if I keep finding good deals on needed towable equipment.

Neat little device. It stows away in a nice little ball and the keyhole is protected by a sliding door to keep out dust and dirt. It probably won't stop a serious thief but it will deter a lazy opportunistic one. Good buy.

It is the product I am giving a 1 star. The Curt Tri-Ball Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Ball Couplers is poor excuse for a deterrent to criminals at best. The thin wire could easily be cut with a small wire cutter. I did not take it out of the packaging until a week ago when I needed to leave my trailer at the tire shop. Too much time has passed for me to return it now, so I am stuck with three worthless couplers I purchased about six months ago. Very disappointed etrailer would offer such a poor product.

It works great and has protected our scout trailer for over a year in spite of rising crime in the area. The only problem is that we needed extra keys which could not be obtained locally. That adds to the locks security.

I know that while trailer and hitch locks do provide additional security, they are not 100 percent theft proof. I had wondered if they had possibly cut the both the latch lock and cable to remove the Curt lock. I can only recommend looking at using a surround style lock like part # ML389DAT. Again it will not be theft proof however it would be difficult to cut off.

- Could Curt Tri-Ball Trailer Coupler Lock C48CR be Cut with Bolt CuttersThe pin of the Curt lock part # C48CR is steel which is a harder metal to cut, but if a thief had enough time and tools handy they could probably cut through it. But theft deterrents really are only going to be effective at stopping the casual thief. If someone had a set of bolt cutters on them like you asked about they probably would be able to cut through it relatively easily.

I have pulled these items to see what you are saying, and you are correct it looks like this is just not made to fit well on the Demco coupler. It seems to me that the lock will still engage, just not very tight with this coupler. If you would like a coupler lock that will fit the Demco that you have, you could always use part # ML389DAT. This does not use the locking cable, but instead hugs the front of the coupler to keep it secure.
