Adam: Hi everyone, Adam at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Peterson Oval Certificate Holder. So once I started paying attention to where these things we're placed, I realized they're on every single big rig trailer truck. I didn't really know they we're that essential, but apparently they are. We have multiple different styles, but this one right here, in my opinion, I think it's going to do the best. As you can see, some of our other alternatives don't really hold up against the elements too well.
We do have this one, which did you used to have a nice protective coating on the outside, but that's not doing much protecting. Also these metal ones are going to see a little bit of rust and corrosion over time. You got to remember on these big rig trailers. This is going to be seeing a lot of water and salt on the roads, depending on what season it is.I honestly do think having an all plastic one with a nice rubber gasket on the inside, it's going to keep everything nice and dry. And it'll last a long time.
I did find one of these trailers that has one it's a little bit older, so let's see how well it holds up. This one right here, it's kind of the same style. It seem to have been here quite a long time, maybe a couple of years or so, but it's definitely staying in intact. It's a lot more sturdy than those certificate holder type document holders. On top of that, as you can see, this is really thick plastic.
Not only is that going to help just keep this cap intact over time, it's also going to have a decent tint to it. So it's not going to discolor your certificates or any of your documents. And this nice foam gasket here is going to keep all those elements out. And this clip is going to keep all your documents nice and secure into place. And another really nice feature is that it comes with mounting hardware. So you don't have to go to the hardware store and purchase that.
And as you can see on this one, we don't have a cap. Luckily we do have a steel cable that is going to keep our cap intact. It is going to come with some self tapping screws. So you can go ahead and just line up where you want, and then to zip those on in really easy, you just need a Phillips head just so you can get those driven in there. The overall dimensions is this going to be a little bit oval. It's going to be five and seventies long by five and three sixteenths inches wide. We are going to have a depth of two and three-sixteenths. The mounting holes from center to center are going to be five inches and seven sixteenths apart. Whether it be your documents or your company's documents, we're going to be able to put these in there, get them faceted down pretty easily here. And honestly, there's room for more in there. Just loaded up whatever you may need, so you can head back down the road. Well, everyone, thanks for watching and tuning in taking a look at the Peterson Plastic Oval Certificate Holder.
