  • Cross Referencing a Dexter Hub with 70-7 Stamped On It
The only thing I found on your Dexter 70-7 is the Replacement 13" Rotor for Dexter Disc Brakes # K71-631-00 which has 70-7 stamped on it. The # K71-631-00 fits 8,000 lb. Dexter disc brake kits like the # K71-646-2, # K71-646-2-91 or # K71-646-2-90.

  • Disc Brakes for 7K Dexter Nev-R-Lube Axles
For your application you can go with the kit # K71-646-2-91 if you have 5/8" wheel bolts or you can go with the kit # K71-646-2-90 if you have 9/16" wheel bolts. If your current brakes are hydraulic then you need to make sure that the lines and actuator are rated for 1,600 psi. If your current brakes are electric then we need to swap out all of the brake wiring for hydraulic lines and an EOH actuator. Let me know what you have and I can help you figure out what else you may need.

  • Can 7k Nev R Lube Trailer Axle be Converted to Disc Brake
I really wish we did but at this time we do not. But do you happen to know what size bearing cartridge your hubs use? Looks like we have the 8k size and 6k size but nothing on the 7k. Hopefully its' 50 mm though.

  • Availability of Disc Brake Kit for Axles with Nev R Lube Axles
We do have Disc Brake kits for the Nev R Lube axles like the # K71-647-648 for if you have a 6k axle or part # K71-646-2-90 for if you have an 8k axle. We do not have anything that fits from Kodiak though. Let me know if you have something different and I'll see what you'd need.

  • Disc Brake and Brake Line Kits for 8K Axles
Titan brakes and actuators were bought out by Dexter Axle, and we do carry disc brake kits with the slip-over rotors, calipers and mounting brackets for 8000-lb axles from Dexter: Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8,000 lbs - # K71-635-2 Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8,000 lbs - Nev-R-Lube - # K71-646-2 While these do not include brakes lines we do have many brake line kits to choose from for your installation. • Disc Brake Conversion For Trailer With Electric Brakes Using Nev-R-Lube 50MM Hub Bearings
If the 7,000lb axles you have use the 50MM Nev-R-Lube Bearing # 31-71-3 for their hubs, you will be able to use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor # K71-646-2-91 to convert over to electric over hydraulic disc trailer brakes. If you are unsure of the parts on your axle you can send me a picture of your axle tag or the serial numbers off each axle and I can confirm what parts are used. You will also need a kit like the HydraStar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator w/ Line Kit for Disc...

  • Hub and Rotor Fit for Dexter Hub and Drum Assembly on Nev-R-Lube Axle
The Kodiak hub KHR138XL9E you referenced has been discontinued. I recommend the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-91 which will fit on your Nev-R-Lube axle just like the Drum Assembly # 8-389-81UC3. If you need further recommendations, please let me know and I'd be happy to assist.

  • Recommended Dexter Nev-R-Lube Electric Drum to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brake Conversion
For your 7000 lb Dexter Nev-R-Lube axles, your bearings will be 50 mm. The kits you referenced will not be compatible with your axles. You will instead use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-90. This will give you 9/16 inch lugs as well as the correct nuts so you won't need to change your wheels. The Nev-R-Lube axles require that you only use their hubs and bearings versus the traditional tapered bearings and races like...

  • Recommended Disc Brake Upgrade for 2010 Cameo Trailer by Carriage
Your 2010 Cameo by Carriage can have the axles upgraded and disc brakes added, but you would need to contact the manufacturer to ensure your capacity would be increased because it will be based on the weakest component. We don't carry any disc brake assemblies for the 9K axles, but we do have the 8k and 10K options. I've attached an article to assist with upgrading to EOH disc brakes. My recommendation is to keep your current Dexter axles and add the Dexter Disc Brake Assembly - 12-1/4"...

  • Recommended Disc Brake Assemblies for Nev-R-Lube Bearing 7,000 or 8,000 lb Axle Capacity
For your upgrade to disc brakes, we have the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-91. This will give you the assemblies to fit your 7K axles which are the same bearing size as the 8K axles, but you will also need to upgrade your brake actuator as disc brakes require a psi rating of at least 1,500 lbs compared to the 1,000 lbs of drum brakes. These assemblies will work with zero offset wheels that are 16 inches or larger. You...
