Get a brake controller in your truck that looks like it's supposed to be there. This sleek knob blends right into your dash and makes your settings simple and convenient to adjust.

Features:

  • Proportional braking - Smooth, safe, and good for your brakes long-term
  • Sleek little knob blends into your dash - The main unit mounts of sight beneath the dashboard
  • Simple controls - Use the knob to adjust the settings, activate manual override, and troubleshoot
  • Reverse battery protection - Keeps your electrical systems safe
  • Plug-and-play - Custom-fit wiring harness plugs right into your vehicle

Specs:

  • For trailers with up to 3 axles (6 brake assemblies)
    • Compatible with electric trailer brakes only
  • Works with 12-volt vehicle electrical systems
  • Main unit dimensions: 2-1/2" long x 2-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" tall
  • Warranty:
    • Brake controller: limited lifetime
    • Wiring harness: limited 1-year

Note: The main unit must be mounted horizontally level and parallel to the direction of travel within 20 degrees.

How to Use Tekonsha Voyager iD

Power output: To get more power output - the maximum amount of power that will be applied to your trailer's brakes - rotate the knob clockwise. To decrease the power output, rotate it counterclockwise.

Manual override: To engage manual override, simply press the knob. This will activate the trailer's brakes and brake lights independent of your tow vehicle, great for stopping sway or controlling your trailer's momentum in an emergency. The Voyager iD will reach the maximum set power in half a second.

How to Install Tekonsha Voyager iD

The Voyager comes in 2 pieces: the main unit and the control knob.

Tekonsha Voyager iD Installed

The control knob can be installed in any convenient spot that's easy for you to see and access. This can be a blank switch panel, an open spot on your center console, or wherever there's space on your dashboard. Before you do any drilling, be sure there's enough clearance behind the dash for the entire knob to install!

Once you've decided where you want to put the control knob, you'll need to find a good place to install the main unit. It needs to be horizontally level and parallel to the direction of travel within 20 degrees. A mounting kit with hardware is included.

Tekonsha Voyager iD Plug In Wiring Harness for Vehicle

This kit comes with a vehicle-specific wiring harness that plugs right into the factory port beneath the dash of your vehicle. That means no hardwiring!

You will also need a circuit breaker kit to complete your installation:

  • 20-Amp circuit breaker (9506P - sold separately) for 1 or 2 axles
  • 30-Amp circuit breaker (38630 - sold separately) for 3 axles

Note: If you don't already have a 7-way plug at the back of your vehicle, take a look at our exclusive 7- and 4-way brake-control installation kit (ETBC7 - sold separately).

What is Proportional Braking?

What is proportional Braking

Proportional braking means that your trailer brakes mimic your tow vehicle's brakes. If you slam on the brakes in your vehicle, your trailer brakes will activate with the same intensity; if you brake lightly, your trailer brakes lightly too. The trailer's braking is in proportion to your vehicle's braking. This saves wear and tear on the tires and the brakes on both your vehicle and trailer.

The Voyager iD uses an internal inertia sensor to sense how your vehicle is braking so it can send the right amount of braking power to your trailer. It measures the inertia of your tow vehicle and activates the trailer's brakes to slow at the same rate. The result is uniform braking across your towing setup. No push-pull action - just smooth, proportional braking every time.

Video Transcript for Review of the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers-3050-P

Hola neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness Adapter for your Tekonsha brake controller on a Nissan or Infiniti SUV. So this is gonna work with your Armada and also your Q series SUVs, and it's gonna work pretty easily by simply just plugging into the factory tow package, and this other end is gonna allow you to plug into your Tekonsha or Draw-Tite style brake controller, making this a plug and play installation super easy. Now, if you have a Tekonsha brake controller like we have here, we have a Prodigy P2, they have a very similar connector to a bunch of the different Tekonsha brake controllers as well as the Draw-Tite. And this harness is gonna allow us to simply snap this into place here, and then this portion will plug in directly to our tow package, which is gonna be located under the dash. Now, to find your plug, it's gonna be pretty easy. Now, I have this portion of our panel dropped down, you don't need to do that, I'm just doing this to make it a little bit easier for you to find it.

And what you're gonna be looking for is kind of right at the steering column, you're gonna see that we have just the steering column here, but also, a white plastic box here. And you're gonna reach for a thick wire loom, and taped to it is going to be a white plug, and this white plug is gonna correspond with the other side of our harness here. So pretty simple, we'll just plug this in. And as soon as I plug that in, you can see that we have NC, which is not connected to our trailer, but we have power to our brake controller, so all that's really left to do is get this mounted up underneath our dash and we're ready to go. So this is super easy if you have that factory tow package to get your brake controller working properly.

Now, this is gonna be compatible with time delayed brake controllers, so that's gonna be your Draw-Tite Activators as well as the Tekonsha PowerTrac, and also, proportional brake controllers including the Prodigies as well as the Primus and the Voyager. So if you're looking to get your Tekonsha or Draw-Tite brake controller hooked up then start to tow with those trailer brakes, this is gonna be a super easy quick way to get that ready to go and you'll be towing in no time. So overall, this maybe takes about five minutes to get installed, and it's just, again, a plug and play, easy way to get it hooked up. And that was a look at the Tekonsha Brake Controller Wire Harness Adapter..

Easy install. I used the cable harness that came with my 22 Silverado. Hardest part was just locating a place on the dash for the knob and access from behind for the 2 inches or so length of the switch assembly. Small and looks good on the dash.

  • Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendations for a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hey Marco, thanks for reaching out! To get all of the wiring and such on your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe you'll need the following: - Curt Wiring Connector # C59236 - Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 - Tekonsha Voyager iD Brake Controller # TK26BR - Mounting Bracket # 18136 This gives you everything you need for wiring as well as a brake controller that takes up minimal space inside your Santa Fe. The only other thing you'll need is a ball mount kit. If you don't already have one, then...

Hey Edgar, lets start with a hitch for your 16 Highlander. For that the Curt part # C13394 would be your best option. Its got great towing capacities and also is mostly hidden since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper. Then for the wiring and brake controller the Tekonsha Voyager ID part # TK26BR would be a really great option that only puts a small knob on your dash. To wire it in you'd need to first start with a 4-way like the part # 118449 which is a confirmed fit and...

It sounds like your 1998 Minni Winnie doesn't have any trailer wiring at all so you'll need the following: - T-One Wiring # 118344 - Universal Wiring Upgrade # ETBC7 - Tekonsha Voyager iD Brake Controller # TK26BR We don't really have any installation videos on an RV like that, but I've attached a video of the ETBC7 kit that should help with the installation. Is there anything else you're needing to install along with this stuff?

  • Factory Brake Controller Port Location on 2017 Nissan Titan
To install the Draw-Tite Activator Trailer Brake Controller # 5504 that you referenced to your 2017 Nissan Titan, all you will need is the Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3050-P if the truck is equipped with the factory 7-Way. One end of the harness will plug into the brake controller itself, while the other end will connect directly to the factory port on your Nissan Titan. The factory brake controller port should be located behind the dash, on the left hand side by the emergency brake pedal....

  • 2006 Nissan Armada Requiring Additional Relay For Trailer Wiring
Some models require a fourth relay, one of the blue relays from the Curt Relay Kit # 57000. It is installed under the dash on the left side of the steering column. There is a socket there to plug in the relay that will activate the tow package tail lights on the Armada, if it was not installed at the factory. Since you already installed the Relay Kit, part # C57000, adding this 4th relay should take care of the problem with the running lights.

The Redarc Tow-Pro item # RED44FR, which you can install in your '18 Titan with Wiring Adapter item # 3050-S, is by far the superior option because it is not only extremely effective and responsive but its manual control knob makes it simple to use; the Tow-Pro can...

Yes, even though the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76031 only uses 6 bolts as opposed to the 10 bolts for the OEM trailer hitch it has gone through an extensive amount of stress tests to ensure that the 6,000 lb trailer towing rating is completely safe.
