Video Transcript for What to Know About the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing

Today, were going to review part number 387A. This is a Redline Outer Trailer Wheel Bearing. These replacement bearing are high quality, tapered roller bearings designed for high-speed use. All bearings will have industry standard numbers regardless of the brand. This one right here, if you look on the inner ring, itll be stamped part number 387A.This roller bearing will consist of three parts. The inner ring or cones, which is this part, right here, the tapered rollers and the roller retainer or also the cage, which holds the rollers in place. The critical measurement when replacing your bearings on your trailer is the inner diameter of the bearing.

Youll want that to match what you have on the spindle of your trailer right now. The inner diameter, and when you measure it, its pretty hard to measure with just a ruler or a tape measure. Youll most need a digital caliper like we have here because most measurements are carried out to thousandths of an inch. In this case, the inner diameter, when we measure it, lets turn it over this way, when we measure, that would read 2.250 inches. This outer bearing does use an outer race, which is not included. It would have to be, it is sold separately.

That would be part number 382A. The critical measurement on the outer race is the outer diameter, which on that race for this bearing would be 3.813. That should do it for review on part number 387A. .

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies for Dexter 10k Axles on Gatormade Trailer
We have what you need! Thanks for the photos. Even though the serial number is torn from the axle tag, we still identified the brakes you need with the Unique ID Number 124394998016 from your 10k Dexter axle tag. I confirmed with my tech at Dexter that you need the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" # 23-450 (left side) and the # 23-451 (right side). These are direct replacements of brakes constructed for your 10k Dexter axles on your Gatormade trailer.

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Hubs for Trailer
To find correct replacement hubs for your Dexter trailer axle you will want to pull one of the existing ones so you can remove its inner and outer bearings. You need these bearing numbers to help you select a new hub that will fit on your axle's spindles. The new hubs must use the same set of bearings as the old ones. Please refer to the linked photo that shows how these numbers are typically stamped into the bearing housing. Once you know your bearing numbers all you need to do is click...

  • Determining Replacement Hub And Bearings For Dexter P-12 SLR Trailer Axle
I can definitely help you find the correct replacement hub and bearings for your Dexter P-12 SLR axle, but since part of the serial number was unreadable you will need to take a few simple steps to identify which bearings your axle uses. The easiest way to accomplish this is to remove one hub and look for the numbers stamped on the inner and outer bearing like shown in the attached picture of the # L44649. If your bearings are too worn to be able to read the numbers, you will need digital...

When you replace your Brakes # 23-450-451 it is a good idea to inspect the bearings at that time. The bearings and races will only need to be replaced if they are damaged or grooved. • Disc Brake Availability for 10,000 lb Dexter Torsion Axles
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D13 looks like it is exactly what you are needing. It is compatible with 10,000 lbs Dexter torsion axles, 17-1/2 inch wheels, and a hydraulic system. It does require a psi rating of 1,500 so as long as your EOH actuator can give that much output this is a viable option. To finish confirming that this kit will work great for your application you will just need to make sure that you have a 7 bolt brake mounting flange location and that your current wheels...

  • Will Dexter 9K - 10K Hub and Drum Fit Lippert 10K Axle
Hub and drum assemblies, like the Dexter # 8-430-5UC3 you referenced, are universal so they typically fit any 9K - 10K axle just fine. With that being said, there are some exceptions out there so you just need to confirm that your axle uses a # 387A inner bearing, a # 25580 outer bearing, and that the inner diameter of your grease seal is 2.875" to ensure that this fits. Pull your current hub and check the numbers on your bearings to confirm this. If you can't find the numbers then Lippert...

I spoke with my contact at Dexter Axle who said that your axle is rated for 9,000 lbs and uses the inner bearing # 387A, outer bearing # 25580, and seal # 10-51. This seal has an inner diameter of 2.875" and an outer diameter of 3.880". We have the bearing part # 387A which is over 2 inches in inner diameter and is seen on 10,000 lb axles but I'd have to know exactly what your spindle dimensions are to know for sure what you'd need. If you can use a digital caliper like the # PTW80157 to get me the exact dimension of the spindle where the bearings and seal ride I'll be able to let you know which parts you need. • What is the Capacity of a Dexter P-12 Model D100 Axle
It looks like you're likely trying to replace your hubs/drums on your Dexter axle and I do believe that the "0100" you found on the spec plate actually reads "D100" since that was one of the models that Dexter had for this particular line of axles; I've confirmed this with Dexter as well.
