  • 20 Foot Long Harness

Avoid tapping into your towed vehicle's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights. 414364

Comments
These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook. 715183

Ask the Experts about this Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring

  • Can A Magnetic Light Kit be Used at the Same Time as a Tow Dolly Light Kit
As long as the power draw from the lights on the tow dolly and the magnetic lights does not exceed the amperage rating of the tow package wiring on the RV then you can just tap the magnetic kit into the tow dolly wiring harness. What I recommend is to tap into the tow bar wiring using the short wiring harness in # RM-2120 that you referenced. That way when it is not needed you can just put the cap on it and secure it to the tow dolly or RV. But you must make sure that the combined power...

  • Magnetic Flat Towing Light Recommendation that are LED and have 4-Way Flat Connector
The bulbs of the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120 are incandescent, they are not LED. A better option would be the MaxxTow Magnetic Tow Lights # MT70097. This kit uses LEDs and comes with a 4-way flat already. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Replacement Lens for my Magnetic Towing Lights
We offer replacement lenses for the part # RM-2120 in the red color using the Replacement Tail Light Lens Red part # A52RB. These are red lenses and to get the black out look you will have to paint it. I do not offer a blacked out version. Double check the diameter of your light to ensure this does in fact match yours. The outside diameter of the lens should be 4 5/16" for this to work out. If you have something different let me know.

  • Flat Towing Wiring Harness Options for 2012 Fiat 500
There are two ways you could wire your Fiat 500 for flat towing. In scenario # 1, you could use a 4 diode kit like # RM-15247 which would use your tail lights as stop/turn/brake lamps. Your lights would work normally when actually driving the Fiat, but when you're flat towing, you'd only use the red bulb on the back of the Fiat for all the taillight functions. Scenario # 2, if you wanted the taillights on the Fiat to operate 'normally', that is to have the turn signals use the amber...

  • Wiring Magnetic Tow Lights to a 6-way Round Connector on a RV
It sounds to me like your 6-Way connector has been wired for some alternate wiring situation, and that is most likely why the adapter does not work properly with the Magnetic lights. I would use a circuit tester, item # 40376 if you need one, and check all of the functions in the 6-Way connector on the RV. Draw a diagram and label each circuit. You will need the stop, turn/brake, tail and ground functions out of the 6-way connector to operate the functions on the 4-way connection of the...

  • Adapter for a 7-Way Connector on a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and a 4-Way on Magnetic Wiring Harness
It sounds like the magnetic kit you have uses a 4-Way flat connector and the truck has a 7-Way blade style connector. There is an adapter you can use. Several as a matter of fact. I have included a link to them for you to view. A simple option like # PK12716 is all you would need. But since you are flat towing, you may need some extra slack so going with a coiled adapter like # HM47065 may be the best way to go.

You can use the Invisibrake, # RM-8700, with a magnetic lighting system by splicing into the 4 wires on the magnetic lighting system. The only difference from the instructions is that the magnetic light ground has to grounded to the Jeep chassis rather than through the 4-Way connector. Most likely the 4 wires will be the standard colors and will wire up color to color. The 4-way you described on the # RM-2120 plugs in to the 4-way of the light assemblies, and then the wire of that 4-way is left without a connector so that you can wire it up to match the connector of your tow vehicle. As the name suggests, you will connect your tow bar straight to the direct-connect base plates while the crossbar style will require you use your tow bar's crossbar or quick-disconnect.
