Diode kit allows you to use your vehicle's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. Wires 2-wire and 3-wire systems to operate as a combined lighting systems. Includes 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil electrical cord.
Features:
Specs:
Note: For applications that have separate lighting, this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn signal lights. A wiring converter (118158 - sold separately) and 2 additional diodes (RM-792) will be needed if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.
Separate vs. Combined Lighting Systems
Some automobiles operate on a 3-wire system, wherein the brake signal and the turn signals travel along different wires to illuminate different lights. (Typically, these vehicles have amber turn signals.) This is referred to as a "separate lighting system". When you hook up for flat towing using this kit, your towed car's lighting system will operate in a combined fashion regardless of whether it typically has combined or separate lighting. This means that the brake and turn signals sent by your RV to your towed car will be carried on a single wire. As a result, your car's brake lights will do the flashing for the turn signals. Your vehicle will still function as designed when not hooked up to your RV.
Do You Need a Brake Light Relay?
Because this kit wires your vehicle as a combined system, a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

I found the installation video to be more helpful than the written instructions. The toughest part of the installation was routing the wires to the front of the Forester. The video was helpful in figuring out the best path for the wires. 460332
The wiring kit included all the parts listed and the video was most helpful with the installation. The installation went fairly easy until I got to the portion of running the brown wire from one taillight to the other taillight. The brown wire was not long enough. I had to splice another piece of wire on to the brown wire to make it longer. etrailer should consider making the length of included wire approximately 3 feet longer. That would have helped a lot with the installation. Also include a longer piece of the split protective plastic. Other than those two issues, I am satisfied with the product. 459131
I like the coiled cable in RM-15267 At one time I owned an Airstream travel trailer that had a tow cable. The Airstream did not have a coiled cable and I had to tie it up with bungy cords to still allow flexibility while traveling. That lasted for one season and the bungy cords stretched out and the cable started touching the road, scraping off the insulation! The coiled cable in the RM-15267 prevents the cable from dragging on the road! 446459
Worked Great, was easy to install. I also like my Roadmaster, BrakeMaster for my tow vehicle behind my motorhome. 740386
Very good quality. Installation took 4 hours and that was due to locating tail light pins of which i had 2 on both left and right lights. Had to find 2018 jeep wrangler jl wiring schematics to find which one was the correct one to use. Where i could, I ran all wiring inside the frame members. That took more time than expected, but after that installation was a breeze. Refer to installation videos, very big help! After installation everything worked as expected between RV and Jeep! 693146
Overall this would be a five star review except for two issues. One being the wire provided was not 30 ft but was closer to 25 ft as I checked before using. I wired the same as the great etrailer video for my vehicle Cadillac SRX and ended up short. Fortunately I had additional wire and was able to complete the run. Secondly, the female spade connectors used on the diodes needed to be tightened as they were not very tight as provided by Roadmaster. These were all Roadmaster issues and of not fault of etrailer. Everything else looked of good quality. 428886
I ordered an entire setup to flat tow my Subaru with my RV. Having never done this before I was nervous about missing something I might need. etrailer made it very easy when I called them on the phone. I told them what I was trying to do and they made sure I had everything needed to complete the job. I was given a name and phone number to call the same person if I had any issues. When one of the boxes was opened it was missing two pins from the manufacturer. A quick phone call and they had them in the mail in a matter of hours. This kind of personalized service is missing in our ever changing world. It was a pleasant surprise to find it here. Great Job etrailer. I will favorably recommend to everyone. 493275
Towbar wiring system arrived within 4 days of placing my order. This 7 to 6 wire system is an upgrade to the simpler 4 wire plugs I've used in the past and will allow me to add on a battery charge line or brake system later on. The demonstration video was indispensable in hooking up the wiring and diodes. Though running and connecting the wiring does take longer than a 10 minute video. Now I can tow my 2016 Jeep Wrangler behind my RV. 444983
All was straight forward and the video was spot on for the installation. Wasn’t easy but well worth it. Had a broken part on the original delivery and the part was delivered fast. 654435
We have towed our Jeep almost 2,000 miles since installing the recommended parts from etrailer and it has worked perfectly on every connect and disconnect along the way. Tows beautifully, even at 70 mph. Excellent customer service and helpful videos from these folks. Would recommend to anyone needing help with parts and guidance in towing their toad to give them a call. 616795

Has worked fine towing our Jeep Wrangler from Michigan to montana , also to Oklahoma & Arkansas no issues 938116
It installed easy enough but the right turn signal and brake light quit working about 300 miles into the first trip out. 937920
Great company and service. Not sure what part I needed but after text with service got right part. Thanks for all the help. 936685
The wiring kit was perfect and everything you need is there. I would have rated it a five, except that the multi-colored length of wire that comes with the kit was just barely--and I mean just barely--long enough for my application. If I had cut the ends even a quarter-of-an-inch shorter I would not have had enough wire to complete the job without splicing additional wire in. My only complaint is that the length of wire that comes in the kit is for small or short cars only. This is the second wiring kit that I bought. The first one was a coupe of years ago and was for a Ford F-150 pickup. In that application the wire was not long enough to run from the front of the pickup to the rear and I had to splice extra wire in to make it work. As long as you know that up front, then the rest of the wiring kit works great and the directions are very good. 936027
