Wireless tow lights install on your vehicle without the hassle of wiring.

These wireless, removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer. With this setup, you won't need to tap into existing wiring for installation. With other magnetic tow lights, you have to run cords from the lights to the front of the towed car or trailer - and then run an additional cord to connect to your tow vehicle - every time you need to tow. These tow lights work wirelessly to eliminate that hassle. And the wireless design also allows you to move the lights from one vehicle or trailer to another in minutes.

Foil covers magnet to protect your trailer or towed vehicle's paint.

The lights attach directly to almost any metal surface with the built-in heavy-duty, foil-covered magnets, which won't damage your vehicle's paint. And the handy on/off switch lets you use the lights only when you need them, saving battery power.

7-Way, RV-style connector7-Way connector plugged in.

Setup is simple. The included trailer connector has a 7-way plug on one end and a 4-way plug on the other end for versatile use. Plug the connector into the 4-way flat or the 7-way, RV-style port on your RV or tow vehicle. A built-in, detachable antenna on the connector bends and rotates so you can adjust it to get the optimal signal. Turn the switch on each light to "on," and attach the tow lights to the back of your towed car or trailer, as far apart as is practical. There are no wires connecting the lights to each other, so you don't have to worry about securing any excess wiring.

Each light conveniently detaches from its base.

Each light detaches from its base so you can easily access the battery compartment. Six AAA batteries (not included) power each light.

Video Transcript for Pilot Automotive Tow Bar Wiring - Bypasses Vehicle Wiring - NV-5164 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Pilot wireless LED magnetic tow lights with the four way flat and seven way RV connector. Now these are removable tow lights that'll provide stop, tail and turn functions for your towed car or trailer, and there's no need to wire into your trailer or tap into your wiring on your towed car. The wireless design will eliminate the hassle of running cords every time you tow. The antenna here on the connector, it is detachable. You can just unscrew it right off if you need. Then just screw it on when you need it.

This will send the signal that'll trigger the tow lights. The antenna does bend and rotate for optimal signal, and you can notice here it'll plug into the seven way blade style trailer connector or the four way flat on your RV or tow vehicle. Once you plug this in, it will function from over 100 feet away. The dust cap you can see on the four way, this will protect it when it's not in use to keep out any dirt or moisture. On the lights themselves, you can see at the very bottom they have these nice, heavy duty magnets on the light base. This provides a very secure grip.

Just to show, you've got a piece of metal here and you can see it'll attach to wherever you'd like. If you notice on the magnet themselves, has a nice foil covering, and this is all solid rubber around there, which will prevent any scratches on your car or your trailer when you install it. They do use long lasting LEDs, which are more efficient, faster acting, and even brighter than incandescent light bulbs. There's nine LEDs per light. If you notice on the back of the light, there is an on and off switch, so it'll let you use the lights as needed, conserving the battery power. They do have a durable polycarbonate base and lens housing.

They are sealed lenses, so they do keep the moisture out, prevent corrosion. If you notice, this is the base that attaches with the magnet. You can adjust it as a spring loaded locking pin right here. This will let you quickly release the light so you can easily access the battery compartment. Basically you just pull that, drop the light into place, release it, and that pin will go over it and lock it into place.

Then if you want to remove it, you can just pull on that spring loaded pin and you can move the light just like that. Now the handle on top of each base will let you easily carry and position the lights where you need them. They are DOT and SAE compliant. Now these lights do require six triple A batteries per light to power the lights. They are not included. A few specs on this, some dimensions, just the light itself overall width from edge to edge is five and a half inches. The height is going to be right at five inches tall, and the depth . Let me pull the light off again. The total depth on just the light itself is going to be right at about two and seven-eighths inches deep. The total unit when we install these, the total width again is going to be the light is five and a half inches. Total height to the very highest point is going to be right at seven inches, and the total depth from the front of the light to the back of the base is going to be right at five and a half inches deep. This does operate on a standard 12 volt system. That should do it for the review on the Pilot wireless LED magnetic tow lights with the four way flat and seven way RV connector.

Haven't yet got the dozen AA batteries the lights need, but they appear to be very well made, big and bright. The transmitter needs a better way to mount it, but a bungee cord served. 665031

The only significant steel was the rear tow hooks on the back of the Gladiator. The plastic buttons on the back had to be removed to let the magnets get a hold. Tie down straps had to used to safely secure the lights. Otherwise, works nicely without having to splice into the vehicle wiring 700163

The Pilot magnetic tow lights - wireless arrived with expedited shipping as expected . The plugged the lights into my RV to test them. They worked flawlessly. I did attach them to my Jeep Wrangler and was very concerned with the magnet holding them to the metal of the Jeep. The slightest bump in the road would knock them off the body. The magnet is not very strong. Since I have taillight guards on my Jeep. I had to secure them to the body with two large zip ties. Also one of the plastic latches that hold the light assembly to the light bracket fell off for some reason. If the holding magnet was a lot stronger, I would rate these lights higher. The convenience and price are great. 486679

lights worked ok. when running lights we on the turn signals did not blink, stayed on constantly until the turn signal was turned off. worked fine when running lights were not on. magnetic bases are weak. any bump would cause lights to fall off of vehicle they were placed on. ended up loosing one. 469595

I haven't used either of the two products I ordered yet. They were bought in advance for a trip we are taking next month. As for eTrailer? It, once again, has been a pleasure doing business with them (that's why they are my 1st stop for all things towing). Ask a question, get an answer, order parts, get what you ordered and always quicker than what I expect. 220740

After buying many, many sets of the wired tow lights for my portable sign business and having to constantly untangle and repair the wires, I decided to spend the extra $ and get something good. These lights work great, just remember to turn off the switches on the lights after use as they run on batteries. I would have paid extra for a case as they are very nice lights and I want to keep them in something safe after use. Great product highly recommend. 149238

I had previously given these a 5 star and I have had these lights less than a year now and the magnet did not hold the lights to the trailer and I just got done picking up the pieces off the highway. Very disappointed with these lights and will not replace them with a wireless system.

Not good! I hit a bump and for some reason 1 of the lights separated from the base where the battery compartment is and the light fell off and was run over by multiple cars. I have 30 pieces. They worked good up to this point and I am not sure why it separated it was secure.

These lights work good as tail and brake lights but have a problem with blinking on and off. They may blink with the turn 5 times in a row and then ignore the next 20 pulses. Or they ignore all turn signal pulses. They don't work as emergency lights very well at all. They pick up about one of every 10 on/off pulses with the left working a little better than the right. The package states they will recieve at over 100 feet but they only work up to 30 feet. I tried changing the batteries, using a different tow vehicle, and moving the transmitter with no improvement. 158186

Purchase the Pilot magnetic tow lights with wireless controller. worked very well. I was worried about whether the magnetic would hold up under wind when traveling since I could not find any information on wind test. I put a zip tie on each of the lights so I would not lose them in case they didn't stay on. But they did over 800 miles. I still plan on using zip ties just to be sure. Overall, I would give the lights a thumbs up. 172634

I tow a Denali behind my coach and use an Airforce One braking system which requires me to disconnect the Denali battery while towing. Therefore I needed lights for the back of the Denali. I made mounts which insert into the rear pockets in the pickup bed. Tail lights and break lights work well, however the left turn signal blinks only once when needed. The right turn signal works good. 488082

The wireless tow lights are great & easy to use & the magnets are stronger than the wind at 70mph but you need a metal surface to mount them & with so much plastic on vehicles it is sometimes hard to find a place to mount them, another concern is security of the lights, there isn't an easy way to lock them down from someone removing them from the towed vehicle. 290564

This has rubber molding and foil covered magnets to ensure your paint is protected. If you need the 4-way harness, I recommend the Blazer Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way...

  • Base Plate Recommendation for 2019 Chevy Sonic LT with RS Package and Automatic Transmission
According to page 283 of the online version of your owner's manual, your 2019 Chevy Sonic with automatic transmission can be flat towed with a speed restriction of 65 mph. Please refer to your owner's manual and follow the guidelines outlined under "Recreational Towing". The base plate kit I recommend for your 2019 Chevy Sonic LT with RS package is the Blue Ox # BX1703. It features removable arms for a clean, unobtrusive look when you're not flat towing. These removable arms are only...

  • Troubleshooting LED Tow Light Functions Not Working Correctly
It sounds like the issue could be corrosion on your 7-way plug and a good cleaning of the terminals may solve the issue. This may be true even though you have used two separate vehicles to test. It also may be that you have an issue due to the LED lights and you can use the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass - 7-Way RV to 7-Way RV - Vehicle End # 20142 to solve your issue. This will resolve the hyperflashing and allow your lights including blinkers to function properly. If...

  • What Do I Need to Flat Tow My 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Behind My Motor Home?
When it comes to flat towing your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, you're going to need components from the following categories: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lights, supplemental braking and more than likely a rise/drop adapter (you'll need to take some measurements to confirm). I've compiled a quick list below of what I recommend for you to flat tow your Jeep Cherokee so that you can easily find the parts: Base Plates: Blue Ox with Removable Arms # BX1143 (Product fits models...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2019 Mini Clubman w/Manual Transmission
To flat tow any vehicle you would need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Most of the equipment is generic but the base plate kit is specific. As of right now (January 2019) the only base plate kit that has been confirmed to fit a 2019 Mini Clubman is the Blue Ox # BX1315 and it is only compatible with S models of the Clubman. I tried looking up the online version of your owner's manual but I couldn't...

  • Flat Towing Base Plates for 2015 Nissan Frontier 4 Cylinder 2 WD w/ Manual Transmission
This is correct. The Roadmaster # RM-344-3B Base Plate Kit will fit on a 2015 Nissan Frontier S, King Cab 4 Cylinder, 2wd manual transmission vehicle. These direct-connect base plates will work only with the Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Sterling # RM-576, Blackhawk or Blackhawk 2 # RM-422, Falcon # RM-522 and Falcon 2 # RM-520 . These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball. If you'd like to tow with a different tow bar than...

  • Solutions for Using Magnetic Tow Lights while Towing Roadmaster Tow Dolly
If you have both a 7-way and a 4-way on your tow vehicle and your dolly uses a 4-way the # NV-5164 would plug into the 7-way and both should work just fine. Or if you have just a 7-way on your tow vehicle you could install the part # C55384 and you would have an additional 4-way that you could use for your dolly.

  • Recommended Flat Towing System for 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid
The 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid only comes with the CVT transmission and it is flat towable with a recommended speed maximum of 70 mph. It is also recommended to start the car and let it run about 5 minutes before traveling and about every 6 hours of traveling to allow the fluids to properly lubricate the transmission. You will want to follow the procedures outlined in your owners manual each time. For this application, I recommend starting with the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit - Removable...

  • Will the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Work on a 2015 Ford Edge SEL
I do have an option but the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit part # HM56011 will only fit the 2015 Ford Edge Sport/Titanium, not the 2015 Ford Edge SEL. The 2015 Ford Edge SEL has variable voltage taillights which is where the issue lies. Therefore, you will need to use the Roadmaster Wiring Kit part # RO44FR which requires splicing or the Pilot Magnetic Tow Lights part # NV-5164 for example which does not require splicing. There are no plug and play flat-tow wiring harnesses for a...
