2007 Cadillac Escalade - Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Suction Cup Mount
  • Universal
  • Demco

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches with suction cups and straps
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Detachable tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

Video Transcript for Demco Tow Lights with Wiring Harness Review

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane, etrailer.com. Today. We're going to be going over dim coats tow lights with wiring harness. Adding wiring kit, or wiring a set up like this to a vehicle is going to serve a lot of purposes. Maybe you tow several vehicles and you want to be able to take the lights from those different vehicles and, and move them over to each one. Maybe your...

you don't want to tie into the factory wiring when flat towing a vehicle. Maybe you have a cargo carrier or something on the back while you're flat towing your vehicle and it just happens that the baggage covers the tail lights on the car. Maybe you have some farm equipment that you are towing down the road. You're going from maybe field to field and the lights on the back of that equipment that you're towing behind that truck or that tractor aren't working anymore. These are going to work great because they're going to suction cup on and they're also going to come with straps to help hold them down. With adding lights like this they're going to give you all the proper lighting functions that are required.

So you're not only safe, but you're legal. They're going to give you your brake signals, your turn signals, and your running lights. Lights come free mounted on the bar. You'll notice this bracket here. This is so when you take your wiring off, you're getting ready to store these away.

It has somewhere that you can wrap your wiring so it stays nice and together.Again, you have straps here. You can see they're going to hook to each edge of your trunk. The straps, the shelf, or the ends of the hooks are going to have a nice rubber coating on. So we're not going to have to worry about it damaging the surface of the vehicle itself. These are going to be incandescent lights, which means they may draw a little bit more power than led lights but that being said, they're going to work great.

They're going to give you all the functions you need to safely pull your trailer, your vehicle, or anything behind a motor home or another vehicle. Now, how these are different than magnetic, these actually suction cup. You're going to have two suction cups under each light and this actually rotates underneath like this for storage when you're ready to use it, you simply rotate it out. That gives you your base and get it set in place and you just push. Suctions down into place. Then you have a secondary holding device, your strap to strap it down. That'll keep it from pointing from side to side and make sure it stays centered. As far as our strap, our buckle here, this is going to be kind of a cam buckle. It's going to have little teeth on it that when you secure it in place, it's not going to allow the strap to pull back through and then to release it, you simply push and pull up on the strap. Your hooks, you're going to have one hook for your trunk side and one for the edges of light. The bar, the legs are shelf, and our brackets here on the back are going to have a nice black powder coat finish to really help resist any rust or corrosion. The lights are going to be a durable plastic. So they're going to last us a long time. We're not going to have to worry about them breaking apart. This whole setup is going to stay looking nice and working well for a really long time. We're going to have about a 30 foot cord. So we're going to have plenty of length to get to whatever we need to, and what's great about it is we're going to actually have two different four-pole plugs on it.So again, if you're towing that farm equipment, that may be a little bit longer than a vehicle, you're going to have that extra space, and you're going to have an extra four-pole side to hook an extra an umbilical cord on it to reach up to the tractor, up to the back of the truck. A wire is going to have a nice durable coating on it. So we're not going to have to worry about the elements damaging the wires, and also with a durable coating on it, the coating is not going to allow the wire or it's going to keep the wire from damaging the finish on the vehicle. Again, I'm Shane, etrailer.com. I hope this video has helped you on deciding the best tow lights for your vehicle.

Ask the Experts about this Demco Tow Bar Wiring

  • Will Suction Cups of Demco Tow Lights # DMKKLB Function Well in Elevation Change
The suction cups of the Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness # DMKKLB that you referenced will hold up well in elevation changes. The changes in air pressure would not cause them to release. The straps are designed to attach to the ends of the light bar and then depending on the application attach to the vehicle where it makes the most sense. There isn't a specific place on the vehicle it has to appear.

  • Towing Lights that Bypass the Tow Vehicle's Wiring and Are NOT Magnetic
If you don't want to tap into your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler's wiring to tow and your top does not have any metal for our magnetic lights, then we have one other option available for you. It's the Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness, part # DMKKLB. This light bar uses suction cup to attach to the roof or trunk and has a secondary connection by straps. This may work for your soft top, but I would suggest finding something with a suction cup on your roof first to test how well it sticks. You...

  • Plug And Play Taillight Wiring Harness For Flat Towing A 2021 Ford F-150
To avoid splicing into your 2021 Ford F-150's wiring I recommend the Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness Item # DMKKLB. This will allow you to simply plug into your RV and suction cup/strap down the tow lights to your vehicle and go. I recommend using some Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors, 2 oz. Item # 11755 on the 4 pole connectors to prevent corrosion.

  • Wiring Options for Flat Towing a 2006 Mini Cooper
We actually have a decent amount of wiring kits that you can install on your 2006 Mini Cooper to flat tow it. If you plan on flat towing it frequently then installing a tail light wiring kit like the Roadmaster # RM-155 which uses a 4-Way to the motorhome or the Roadmaster # RM-152-LED-7 which uses a 7-Way to your motorhome is what I recommend using. After the initial installation all you'll have to do is plug in the wiring from the front of your Mini Cooper to the back of your motorhome. If...

Flat towing any car requires a few components and these are noted in the linked article. The items include base plates, safety cables, tow bar, a wiring/lighting kit, braking system and often a high/low hitch adapter. Here is a listing of such parts for the 2016 Smart fortwo: Base Plate # RM-52300-4 Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 Safety Cables # RM-643 Towing Light kit # DMKKLB Battery Disconnect # RM-766 Even Brake # RM-9400 Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751486 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 High/Low...

  • Portable Braking System And Taillight Wiring Kit For A 1997 Jeep TJ Being Flat Towed
The Blue Ox Patriot 3 Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System - Proportional Item # BRK2019 is a great portable braking system. As far as tow lights, I do a lot of flat tow setups here and all of the portable light kits are magnetic or suction cups with straps. Jeeps are hard to use portable light kits on because there is no metal surfaces to attach the light. If you have a hard top you can potentially use the suction cup style which is the Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness Item # DMKKLB...

  • Can 2017 Chevy Colorado be Flat Towed Facing Backwards
I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2017 Chevy Colorado and it looks like you can safely tow your vehicle by putting the rear wheels on a tow dolly. I do recommend verifying this in your copy of the owner's manual under the "Recreational Towing" section as well. If you don't already have a tow dolly then we can help you out with that here at etrailer. If you only plan on towing every once in a while (like once or twice a year) then a cost-effective option is the Roadmaster...

  • Can Tow Ready Magnetic Tow Lights # 73864 be Mounted to Side of 2016 Jeep Wrangler
If you have a strong magnetic surface on the side of your 2016 Jeep Wrangler you could very well mount the Tow Ready Magnetic Tow Lights # 73864 there. The magnets are very strong for the lights, but we haven't tested them on the side of a vehicle so there isn't a way I can guarantee that it will hold well. You may want to check out these Demco lights with wiring harness. They uses suction cups and straps to mount to your trunk or roof. Since these do not require a magnetic surface...

  • Recommended Tow Bar Wiring Harness for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The best tow bar wiring kit we have for your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 mainly because of how nice and durable the umbilical cord is. It is also an all inclusive kit so you don't have to worry about not having everything that you need when the time comes for installation. The kit is also all made right here in the USA. I have attached an install video for you on a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well. Please note...
