Use this fuse-disconnect system to prep your vehicle to be towed. Simply relocate your car's fuse with this bypass and flip the integrated switch. To drive your car, just flip the switch back on. No need to remove or replace your fuse.
Features:
Note: Consult vehicle's owner's manual to determine which fuse to pull. Do not install a fuse that has more than a 20-amp rating.
Some automobiles can only be towed if you get under the hood and pull a fuse. If you don't remove this fuse before towing, there's a good chance that your car's battery will be drained by the time you reach your destination.
With this bypass, once the initial installation is complete, you won't have to remove or replace your fuse again. Just pull the fuse indicated in your car's owner's manual and replace it with the bypass. After you install the bypass, insert the removed fuse into the holder of the bypass system. With the fuse installed in this manner, it will still be able to function as needed. Mount the included switch near the fuse box and you're set.
Whenever you need to drive your car, just make sure the switch is flipped into the "on" position. When on, the fuse will be active and your vehicle will function normally. Then, when it comes time to tow, switch the bypass to "off." When off, the fuse will be rendered inactive so that you can flat tow your car without its battery being drained.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Curt ATM mini fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles. Now some vehicles can only be towed if you get under the hood and pull a fuse. And if you don't remove that fuse before towing there's a good chance that your car's battery will be drained by the time you reach your destination. So, you can use this fuse disconnect system to prep your vehicle to be towed. Basically what you do is simply relocate the car's fuse, that's indicated in your vehicle's owner's manual with this bypass, and then you flip this integrated switch on this end to be able to tow it or to drive the car.
And basically the way you install this is you remove that fuse from your fuse box and then you'll take these two connectors here on this end and install that in place of the fuse that you just removed. Take that fuse that you removed and put that and put that right into this inline fuse holder. Once it's plugged in, put the cap over to protect it, and then you're ready to go. On this end you have this switch. So what you'll do is flip the switch to the tow position and then you're good to tow.
Basically that will render the fuse inactive so that you can flat tow your car without its battery being drained. And then when you're ready to disconnect the car and drive it, just flip the switch to the back-on position or the drive position, and you're ready to go. There's no need to have to remove or replace your fuse every time you do that. You do probably want to mount this bypass switch near the fuse box. And also what's nice is because your fuse is in here, it's storing it so that you won't lose it.
Otherwise you'd have to take it out, put it somewhere, and then when you're ready to go find it, and put it back in This way your fuse is right automatically stored right here. Now this does install quickly, easily, and permanently. It comes with a nice set of installation instructions that will describe how to install it. And this does maintain the function of high amp fuses when it is switched on. Application, this is for the ATM mini fuse.
One note I do want to mention is you do not want to install a fuse in this bypass that has more than a 20 amp rating. But that should do it for the review on the Curt ATM mini fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles..

Review from a similar Fuse Bypass Switch in Tow Bar Wiring
These are a good alternative to the Roadmaster bypass switches and also cost less. I ended up pulling the wiring out of the plastic conduit. The area where this is used doesn't need it and doing that made it much easier to work with. I made my own labels for Drive and Tow positions. Two of these were worked great at bypassing the four fuses that had to be pulled for flat towing a 2019 Chevrolet Sonic. I used some of my wife's fingernail polish to indicate the drive position, "still need to touch that up a bit". See photo.
